Komodo National Park is our location in this video. We spend a week sailing around exploring, snorkelling and climbing peaks. At any given time during a normal year there are 8-10 thousand visitors in the area. Its pretty special to explore these well known places this year as we are virtually alone. The water was crystal clear, the currents strong and because of this the plastic waste in the water and on the beaches was noticeably less. We had some great sailing along the way and in typical fashion I choose a time when the wind was blowing 26kts to get Marie to steer for her first time. You'll have to watch pretty much till the end to see that though. Also a slide show of my favourite images. We are Ben and MP! Recently we decided to purchase a two masted 70ft wooden schooner in Brazil. The fun detail about our story is that the boat we bought is sinking and relying on many bilge pumps to survive and we need to lift it onto the dry ASAP to fix what is needed and start our refit. In this episode we are finally heading south on board of our leaky boat! We navigated approximately 250 nautical miles with water filling our bilge besides some other minor set backs. It was a bumpy ride with some fortunate and some unfortunate events. We got a little scared at moments but now we are happy we have a richer story to tell, because, spoiler alert: at the end things worked out well enough for us to continue telling our story. Devastating episode about how I lost my dog Marty to a blood infection, while I was away working on a Superyacht. This also leaves our other dog McFly without a brother, so it was a tremendously tough event for all of us... Sharks, heights, deep diving all no problem but I am happy to admit when I am scared! This fast little boat definitely got the best of me on our first solo trimaran sail😱. We do our best to not include our personal drama in these videos but if there is an issue and we figure out how to get over it we are happy to share. My advice to you: Figure out what terrifies you and WHY then learn the things you can control to fix it. For example, I was(am) scared of how fast this boat goes because things can go wrong so much faster when you are going so fast. How am I getting over it? I am learning how to control the boat, sail it on my own, and practice man overboard drills just in case! I am getting there! As the Covid Pandemic hit the UK we were tasked with a number of jobs and challenges: - We moved out of our house and in with Alf's family in order to keep safe - Tackled the delays and logistics of receiving our new boat - Quit Alfie's job - Renovated our photography studio whilst being closed during lockdown - Prepared our house for renting - Cancelled all plans for Alfie's 30th Birthday - Moved our whole lives onto our new boat - Test sailed our Lucia 40 Catamaran - Prepared the boat for full time living - Sold our Old Boat on eBay to some guys in Albania who we still haven't met yet! - Moved our wedding because of Covid rules :'( - and lastly celebrated Ceylan also turning 30!! ...and then set sail non stop to the Med!!!! This ones a special one to us as we name our Dinghy after Alfie's friend Dom Venner who sadly passed away ♡

Rolf und Bärbel haben sich 2018 mit uns eine Jeanneau SO 37 angeschaut und auch gekauft, um damit Segeln zu lernen. Das haben wir in BootsProfis-Folge #2 gezeigt. Nun haben sie viel Erfahrung sammeln können und möchten sich vergrößern. Für die neu gewonnene Leidenschaft muss ein neueres und komfortableres Segelboot her. Die beiden haben sich in die Bavaria Vision verliebt und beide aktuellen Versionen, die 46er und 42er, waren im Gespräch. Wir haben für die Ostsee klar von der großen Variante abgeraten und letztlich hat sich auch die kleinere Variante durchgesetzt. Spontan wie die beiden sind, haben sie sich eine 42er in Holland angeschaut und direkt verbindlich zugesagt, nachdem das Boot nur einen Tag inseriert war. Und genau dieses Segelboot begutachten wir in diesem Video. In aller Regel suchen wir ja nach Schiffen für die Langfahrt und die moderne Großserie gehört aus verschiedenen Gründen nicht zu den Zielen unserer Suchen. Und das merkt man Hendrik hier und da während der Inspektion auch an. Wie ihr wisst, sind wir ehrlich in unserer Meinung - nichtsdestotrotz gehört der Schiffstyp im Vergleich wohl zu den besseren der Großserienboote. Ob dieses Exemplar Mängel und Defekte hat und was wir nun genau von der Bavaria Vision halten, das erfahrt ihr im Video - heute mal wieder ein deutlich längeres ;) Viel Spaß damit! In attesa del nuovo albero ,i lavori della Calypso proseguono e nel quartiere Kalamaria di Salonicco ,dove si trova la Calypso ,il sabato c'é il mercato così ne approfittiamo per comprare i gustosi granchi blu ed altro squisito pesce che cucineremo a bordo.In mezz'ora di macchina raggiungiamo la penisola Calcidica dove andremo a fare il bagno con il nostro amico Carlo. Alterniamo bagni ,incontri con amici , lavoretti in barca e gite esplorative . Saliremo a bordo del Cacciatorpediniere Velos, passato alla storia per l'ammutinamento del suo equipaggio nel 1973. Alla fine del video l'albero (Mast) sarà montato e servirà d'appoggio a due corvi che stanno pensando di fare il nido sul radar.

Jun 2017 Teil 2: segelte ich mit meinen Kindern von Silba bis Veli Losinj Bucht Balvanida über den Kvarner zurück in die Bucht Paltana, Nachtfahrt durch die Brijuni Inseln von Pula nach Rovinj, Marina Vrsar, Hüpfburg, Porec zurück nach Pula. 1 Stunde mit Delphinen segeln ab Minute 11:35 Delphine, Delfine, Delfinschule, Mutter mit Kalb Ich startete als SKS-Frischling mit meinen Jungs ab Pula unseren 1. Segeltörn ab der ACI Marina Pula in Istrien, Kroatien mit einer ELAN 333 - Ankern in Bucht Portic über den Kvarner - Mali Losinj Bucht Tomozina & Stadthafen, Ilovik Bucht Parzine bis Silba Bucht Papranica bis Dienstag Hier geht´s zum Teil 1: https://youtu.be/im4hannNAWo 03.06.2017 bis 09.06.17: gesamt 216 sm davon 107 unter Segel und 110 unter Motor Kosten: Hafen Mali Losinj 45 €, Veli Losinj Boje 30 €, Vrsar Hafen 50 €, Treibstoff Schiff 40 € Nachdem ich im Nov. 2016 meine SKS-Prüfung absolvierte, wollte ich natürlich SEGELN! Nachdem sich auf die Schnelle keiner fand, der bereit war, mit mir und 3 Jungs ein Schiff zu chartern, machte ich mich selbst zur Skipperin und charterte ein Schiff ;) Es war wahnsinnig aufregend !!! Alles das 1. Mal: Ablegen, ankern, auf dem Schiff schlafen & essen ... Das 1. rückwärts Anlegen bei Seitenwind und Zeitdruck, weil die folgenden Crews direkt nach/neben mir anlegen wollten , ging gründlich schief! Aber aus Fehlern haben wir viel gelernt ;) Mit meinen Jungs übte ich im Vorfeld im Garten häufig das An- und Ablegen. Übersteigen, fest machen, eindampfen in die Heckleine, dann erst die Muring annehmen ... sie sollten verstehen, warum wir was machen und zu viert hat dann schon jeder seine wichtige Aufgabe. Nachdem ich ja selbst noch keine erfahrene Anlegerin war, sollten die Jungs alles richtig machen. Wir hatten alle VIEL Spaß! Freude am Segeln und Baden und ja, auch eine peinliche Situation, über die wir heute noch herzlich lachen können. Bei unserem 2. Törn im August 2017 lief es dann schon viel besser und wir hatten das riesen Glück, Wale in der Kvarner Bucht ganz Nah zu sehen. 2017 war ein wahnsinnig toller 1. Segelsommer für mich! My travelling adventure has brought me to Ingonish, another small fishing community in Cape Breton on Atlantic coast of the province of Nova Scotia. I met the extended family of Danny, a nice guy I used to work with back in Montreal... When In Ingonish one day I was helping Josh (Danny's wife's sister's husband) to clean up the area. He was cutting trees, I kept the fire going by burning cut-off-from-trunks brunches.... The same evening I was invited over to the dinner. It also happened to be Sandy's (Caitlyn and Josh's son) birthday ... We had a good time !!! ===================== ABOUT ME Back in 2019 I decided I did not want to be a 9 to 5  type guy anymore. I got fed up with this rat race like routine city life and I got hooked on the idea of sailing and living on a boat full time. But with 0 (zero) expirience that would be difficult to achieve... I took a Transport Canada course and received my first boat license... I watched tons of videos about boats and sailing on youtube and got myself registered with dozen of boat related forums and groups on a facebook... In May 2020 I came across a facebook post. Sergey was looking for a crew to bring his boat to the Caribbean. I travelled 1300 km from Montreal to Halifax to join him on his boat. The trip was cancelled two months later for legitimate reasons.  Since I made my way to Nova Scotia I decided to discover this beatiful province before going back to Montreal I have not given up on my dream of sailing. Because of this Corona virus situation in the world It is just put on hold...
