With the reinforcement from Denmark Per can we finally leave Cuxhaven and we set course towards Ijmuiden in the Netherlands. The weather is extremely calm which is good for Anders hurting back. The most exiting thing that happened was that we suddenly saw a Nato Submarine in the haze quiet close to us(the sub is at 19:46) We are a middle aged couple that has left our hectic business lives to go sailing with our boat Fridá af Wisby and our cat Litza. The sailing in our home water the Baltic Sea is part of our preparation to sail to the Mediterranean Sea. Anders has been at the sea most of his life and sailed for the Swedish national dingy sailing team as a young man. Gitte has also grown up with boat and spent every summer sailing with her father as a teenager but made a pause of about 15 years without sailing as an adult, had just begun to pick-up the interest before she meet Anders a 4 years ago. Onboard we also have our cat Litza a 3 year old Devon Rex we call her the cattain because cats always decide over their humans. Litza is a Devon Rex cat and she is the real cattain aboard. Fridá af Wisby is a Wauquiez 47 pilot saloon that we Gitte and Anders bought in UK in 2019 and that we have sailed to Gotland and in season 1 2020 we sail in the Baltic Sea.

When the Australian Geographic Society presented Don with the Gold Medal for a “Life Time of Adventure” in 2012 they probably thought at 57 he was about to retire from a lifetime of adventure. Nothing could be further from the truth. Since then Don has managed to resurrect what I think is the greatest race of all time, the Golden Globe Race (GGR), and he is about to do the same thing with the old Whitbread around the world race. Giving amateur sailors the chance to race around the world in the Ocean Globe Race (OGR) If that weren't enough he has also built himself a tiny (5.8 meter) sailboat to race across the Atlantic later this year and will run a race around the world in these tiny boats in 2024. So there's no excuse for lethargy in lockdown... Don can send you the plans and you could be building your own boat in the garage, all in lockdown! EP: 159- We lost our drone..over a salt flat We explored an island close to our anchorage that connects up to the pelican point light house and opted to go see if it was something we could hike.. after doing some inspecting we went to the next day with Glen, Luke & Wade and opted to hike to the light house. It was way further than we thought and realized we would only be back by nightfall so cut the hike short and drove there the next day. We drove through the salt flats on the way there and it was amazing to see the pink lakes and see the salt accumulating on the surface. Then disaster struck... our drone got lost and disconnected from the controller. Ricky had no control over it.. We searched for what felt like hours cause how stressed we were.. but it flew back to where it took off and Wadey saved the day. We were so happy cause we definitely didn't have the budget for another drone :( We carried on our adventure to the light house. We got to see the massive seal colony with all their pups and check out the pelicans. It was pretty epic. See ya next week!! If this video doesn't melt your heart and make you smile...On our hike on Middle Ground Trail (a 2.2 mile circle starting at the dinghy dock), we encountered a herd of wild goats grazing on the ridge. They are always there, hence the reason the name of the hike is dubbed Goat Trek. But, this day was a little different as we ran into a baby goat with no mother and she was as friendly and affectionate as one could ever imagine...so much so, she stole our hearts. Aside from the goat highlight, the trek was spectacular in myriad ways - historical forts from the 18th Century, trails surrounded by bleeding hearts, hummingbirds in every blooming shrub, cacti with flowers, and 360 degree views of the harbours and bay. We understand why this hike is really popular with boaters. We loved it so much we did it twice, mostly because all of us wanted to play with the baby goat again; we named the goat, "puppy" because it acted so much like one. And, magically, puppy was up on the ridge where we left her the last time. It was a second session of mutual love smothering! It was harder to say goodbye the second time around... What a beautiful experience and one that we will never forget; this will defintely be listed in our top 5 of magical moments, and for seasoned travelers, that doesn't happen often. #sailing #sailboat #sailingprojects #antigua #babygoat NEW TO OUR CHANNEL? Bourgeois means Deauville. Our little field trip by the sea! The sun is out in Normandy and we decide to go on a field trip to Deauville and Trouville just half an hour away on the bus. It's such a beautiful day that we can't let go the opportunity of going exploring. As every time that we go somewhere by the sea we enjoy looking at the boats and look out for any ideas. It is freezing cold but we are walking pretty much all the time since we get off the bus. All that walking plus an incredible sunny day keeps us warm enough. Our first stop is Trouville, a fishermen town. As it is Saturday the market is on. It exceeds any other we've seen before. This little town is full of character. The tide is low and all the fishing boats are leaning on the wall, the creek is filled with birds and the promenade is full of people eating seafood and enjoying the sun. Across the water is Deauville, an upscale holiday destination known for its grand casino, golf courses, horse races and American Film Festival. Its wide, sandy beach is backed by Les Planches, a 1920s boardwalk with bathing cabins. The town has chic boutiques, elegant belle epoque villas and half-timbered buildings. One of those places were instead of meeting your mates for a football game you grab your horse and play polo on the beach. Even though it is a beautiful town we much prefer Trouville and its strong personality. Another cruiser living in Rio San Juan took us for a ride in the mangroves and the to a cave on the sea shore where birds usually nest. The birds were not there but the cave was still quite interesting. Later QP got to do some nude modeling at a secluded beach. She is getting much better at doing hair flips now. Finally, more modeling while riding through the mangroves. Of course this is the edited censored version of our post to meet the community guidelines. Após oito meses buscando um barco que seria nossa nova casa, encontramos este Delta 36 maravilhoso em Porto Alegre. Voei para lá para conhecer o barco e fechamos negócio. Voltei para Jundiaí para resolver algumas pendências e voei de volta para Porto Alegre no dia seguinte acompanhado do amigo Raul que também busca um veleiro para morar e quis me ajudar a trazer o barco de Porto Alegre para Bertioga - SP, comigo e com o Renê Garrafielo, um skipper muito qualificado que convidei para a travessia e que acabou virando um amigo. Passamos trinta dias preparando o barco para esta viagem que prometeu e cumpriu ser uma grande aventura. Fizemos boas amizades no Clube dos Jangadeiros onde fomos recebidos por todos com muito carinho, tanto que me doeu o peito ter que partir, o quê fiz prometendo voltar. A entrada na Lagoa dos Patos foi tensa, ela estava indócil e as ondas (sim, na Lagoa formam ondas pois ela é muito extensa) estavam bem grandes, o quê nos fez alimentar muito bem os peixes na altura do Farol de Itapuã (entrada da Lagoa para quem sai de Porto Alegre). Tivemos um período bem duro na lagoa até a madrugada, quando uma grande calmaria nos atingiu e fomos obrigados a motorar por algumas horas. Encontramos um colega velejador também saído do Clube dos Jangadeiros que estava quase à deriva por falta de combustível e vento e o rebocamos até nosso primeiro destino que foi o Yacht Clube de Rio Grande, também um excelente lugar. Saímos de lá na manhã seguinte com destino à Marina de Itajaí, que apresenta boa estrutura, onde pernoitamos e saímos de madrugada para a última perna da travessia com destino à Bertioga - SP. Os dois primeiros trechos foram bem intensos, até costela o Raul quebrou em um violento capóte que tomou devido ao balanço extremo, entretanto, após algumas boas horas navegadas, o mar resolveu nos acolher e pudemos relaxar e curtir mais a viagem. Quando passávamos pela divisa do Estado do Paraná, vimos um gigantesco bando de golfinhos que passou mais de vinte minutos conosco, nos presenteando com o que parecia ser as "boas vindas" à nova faze que acabara de iniciar se. Foi uma das cenas mais emocionantes que tive o prazer de presenciar e o privilégio de poder registrar em vídeo e dividir com vocês.
