Facciamo un po di esperienza nella sostituzione delle draglie, i cavi di acciaio rivestiti di plastica bianca che sostenuti dai candelieri circondano il perimetro della barca. Col tempo ingialliscono e si spezzano sotto la trazione dei parabordi appesi e quando si spaccano i trefoli di acciaio sono un pericolo per l'equipaggio e per le vele. Proviamo a sostituirli.

Wir befinden uns immer noch auf unserem 3 wöchigen Sommertörn in den schwedischen Schären. Auf Donsö machten wir uns bei der Törnplanung Gedanken wie es weiter gehen könnte und wir haben und schließlich zu einem kurzen Schlag zwischen den Schären entschieden. Wir segelten als um die Südspitze Donsös herum und bogen dann nach Norden ab, an Göteborg vorbei, um nachmittags schließlich die kleine Schäre Hyppeln zu erreichen. Vor Donsö hat sich mit einem lauten Platsch unsere ActionCam verabschiedet. Sie liegt nun mit dem ganzen ungesicherten Videomaterial des Törns vor Donsö auf 9m Wassertiefe. Es war eine schöne Fahrt durch die schwedischen Westschären. Gut auf Hyppeln angekommen haben wir uns direkt auf den Weg gemacht die Insel zu erkunden. Wir wollten auf den höchsten Berg Hyppelns. Da ist eine alte Festungsanlage, die im 2. Just watching the weekend get started...

After a few requests, I have put together a video of the sort of food that I find easy to prepare (and eat) on board my 33ft Moody. I am far from being even a moderate home cook, but I haven`t starved over the last 14 months of living aboard, so I hope that this will give you an insight into how easy it really is. Plus there`s a section on every Cornishman`s favourite food - the humble pasty. I`ve also been lucky enough to get a few walks in, around working and I`ve included these as well. In this video, we are in a beautiful spot on the eastern coast of Sardinia, called Cala Moresca. We try to go for a walk on land but get told off when we dinghy ashore. We go for a great swim, Lars makes the most of the slightly deeper water to practice some free diving and we crave a bit of land time so we decide to sail to the closest town called Golfo Aranci. We spend the evening exploring Golfo Aranci and grab a must awaited delicious pizza! The next day we make our way back up north, and have a sweet close hauled sail up the coast at sunset. Kenneth asked for some views forward from the cockpit, et voilà, the rain stopped for a few minutes. 🙂 As mentioned, I’m 172 cm on a good day, maybe 173 in my sailing boots. That’s 5’8”. Given the raised central section of the hard dodger and the way it impedes the view forward, Carolyn and I tend to move from side to side regularly, to maintain good situational awareness, especially in harbour. In the marina I tend to step up onto the seat for a few seconds every now and then, to improve the view forward. Of course that isn’t necessary if motoring backwards in the marina, a move that works well and makes the most of the bowthrusters.

April 2019 Maybe I should have titled this video "Throwback Thursday"? Back when we had open borders and could sail wherever we wanted, we made the jump to the Abacos to hang out with friends, listen to bands and dance, ride on swings, and snorkel. What we didn't expect was to drag 200+ feet at anchor. At 3am of course.
