Everything is made in San Francisco. Check it out! NAV TABLE Our Navigation table computer is a 12 volt PC made by Entec out of France. It runs Windows and a software called TimeZero that accepts the boats NMEA data to display it real-time on screen. We have wind, radar and AIS alarms that probably do a better job than a human when looking for objects at night - so we try to nap with a 20 minute timer when we can. However, when conditions call for it (wind shifts, other boats, near shore, etc) then we hold a two hour on and two hour off watch schedule. CAMERA GEAR: We use a Sony A7iii camera for most of the footage with a Rode mini wind mic. We also use our iPhone 11 when away from the boat. The time-lapse imagery and underwater video is from our GoPro8. And our drone shots are done with a DJI Mavic Pro 2. All editing is done with FCPX. With the evolution of modern ropes sailors are inventing thousands of use cases for Dyneema loops. The team at bottom up boat recently saw a great use case that turns a dyneema loop into a soft shackle in seconds. With soft shackles replacing tradition shackles at a speed we have never scene before most spare parts kits now carry several soft shackle and at the very least a few meters of Dyneema so you can make your own as required. If you need to make a soft shackle in a hurry we suggest stocking your spare parts kit with several dyneema loops of a variety of lengths. Using this technique demonstrated in this video you can turn your Dyneema loops into soft shackles in seconds. If you are attaching sheets to sails and there will be a lot of movement we suggest traditional splice soft shackles which have a more secure locking point. Our favourite soft shackle use a combination of an eye splice and the overhand knot to create a soft shackle with 230% breaking strain of a single length of the rope. Nach 24Std. Starkwind checke ich den Anker... Die Kräfte kommen, dank ausreichender Kettenlänge, gar nicht erst bis zum Anker...und wenn, dann bleibt der Zugwinkel flach und verhindert ein Slippen oder Ausbrechen das Ankers. We have re-evaluated our plans and decided to start looking at our never ending boat list of chores. With majority of the wiring on the boat being absolutely chaotic we attempt to gain some order. In the process of fixing our manual bilge pump we have found two more broken ones. With it now being easier to keep our boat afloat, Soph tackles the mouldy wood problem of the interior. Three days of sanding and vanishing was all well worth it when we see our galley transformation. Now I know what you're gonna say... "That's why you should buy a yammy" - "SeaDoos always have issues" Well this was NOT SeaDoos fault, I recently rebuilt the jet pump using non-genuine rebuild kit. Which did alright but only lasted about 1.5 hrs. I don't know how it happened but the jet pump bearing collapsed which normally only happens when there is water inside it. But there wasn't as we just did it 1 hour ago. I will keep you guys updated on how its going but for now I can't ride until I get it fixed. Be sure to subscribe for future updates.
