Little did I know that this was the location of the biggest viking building we have found yet. Here I learned about the craft of the vikings, viking wood crafting, norse mythology and the life of the vikings. If you have been following our channel in the last year, you know how big a deal moving back onboard and sailing to Bonaire was for us. When this video is released, it has only been a few weeks since we arrived and we have enjoyed every second of our time spent onboard!!! It took us 8 months to return to sea since the day we first arrived in Curacao, and while this video may just look like another day at sea, for us, it was the moment we got our lives back :) While Curacao is a wonderful destination to visit and we loved our time there, it isn’t the most practical to cruise, mostly due to the lack of anchorage arounds the island. Bonaire doesn’t have ANY anchorage, but a field of affordable mooring balls right in front of the island’s main city, making it a very attractive destination for cruisers. We tried to catch the best weather window possible to sail Eastwards to Bonaire, and while this was the best weather window we could catch, the rest of this first passage of our season was like… the fist pancake of a batch, not amazing! Kito Sylvain's Bora Bora Moorings Services ("BBMS") took possession of all the moorings in Bora Bora two months earlier and he gladly took our money without ever checking the condition of our mooring. After it broke, it was up to us to save our sailboat, only to have him deny any responsibility and his insurance companies supported his efforts (Assurcare and Helvetia). His negligence caused us and our insurance company hundreds of thousands in damages and a half a year of disappointment. It's modern day Piracy at its best... OUR ROUTE has taken us from the Boston/Cape Cod area of the United States down to the Caribbean and through the Panama Canal. At the time of posting this we have dealt with the Coronavirus lock down in New Zealand, a category 5 cyclone in Fiji, and now we are cruising again in Covid Free Australia. This episode we leave Goold Island at the top of the Hinchinbrook channel and cruise out to the outer Great Barrier Reef. We explore a bommie at Britomart Reef and catch a largest painted crayfish so far weighing in at a massive 4.6kg (10lb). We move on to Walker Reef stopping the night finding a few huge Horned Helmet Shells directly under our boat. If you just want to see the big crayfish, jump to 7:13

Held at the South Seas Resort on Captiva Island Florida, over 500 sailors from 24 countries took part. John and Martin were the top Canadian Team. Actually, they were the only Canadian team ;-) Using identical brand new Hobie 16’s provided by Hobie, races took place over 16 days. John will share what it was like to participate, and how much fun they had.
