The last few weeks I have been on the hunt for a guitar that best fits my lifestyle. I needed something small so I could store it anywhere on the sailboat and in the van. I needed it to be tough because I knew it is going to have a rough life ahead of it. I needed it to stand up to humidity, moisture, and temperature changes that we experience on the water. Oh and I wanted it to not sound like shit or feel like a toy guitar you get at Walmart. And I think I finally found it. The Little Martin LX1E After sifting through a ton of different options, it finally came down to the Little Martin. It fits the bill perfectly and sounds great. Super easy to hide in the boat or the van and comes with a backpack style gig bag too so you can fit right in with all the losers, I mean “travelers”, in Ocean Beach. Does not feel like I’m downgrading guitars, just downsizing. I am no great guitarist, but I do enjoy playing and I think even a better guitarist would have a hard time arguing with this guitar, even up against standard sized guitars priced around $400. Really hard to beat for that price. The main competitor that I found for this guy was the Baby Taylor, but some insider info from someone I know that used to work at Taylor Guitars led me to believe that the Martin is a higher quality build. BUT if I was willing to spend a couple hundred bucks more and get a slightly bigger but still pretty small guitar, I would probably be leaning toward the Martin Dreadnaught JR or the Taylor GS Mini. However, those two beautiful guitars are all wood and overtime would succumb to the moisture that surrounds our floating house all day. My only con that I have found so far with this guitar is that, even though I have the electronics, Martin decided not to put a built in tuner on the guitar. Kinda sad, but not at all a deal breaker for me. Also I think I wouldn’t be devastated if the scale length was a touch longer. Anyway, thrilled with the guitar. See below the deck of s/v Sunburst. A simple walk-thru of an older 35 ft sailboat built for blue water sailing. Sunburst is a 1971 Chris-Craft Caribbean 35 long keel sloop designed by Sparkman & Stephens. It was designed as a Motor Sailor and used the same hull design as the Chris-Craft Sail Yacht 35. In this video, we arrive in Mallorca and start to explore the island. We take things easy after our friends leave - and take time to get on with some errands. We sail to Acúdia, walk up to the old town which is beautiful & provision the boat before Lars tries to replace our annode which somehow fell off the prop. We head to a tiny anchorage and go for a walk and meet some goats along the way. We have some stunning sails and enjoy this slower pace for a change. Thanks for watching! The only reason these engine survived the test of time and demands of industry is down to its extremely simple design and very robust build. En este vídeo os transmitimos nuestra experiencia, para nosotros es un destino muy libre donde no hay edificaciones y pasadas unas 17 millas de la base, la desconexión es total ideal para los amantes de la naturaleza y tranquilidad. Hemos hecho un recorrido realmente único posible en cualquier época del año, hemos visto una cantidad de animales marinos increíble, en el mes de Marzo se avistan, Ballenas jorobadas, leones marinos, tortugas, peces globo, el tiburón ballena, pelicanos, delfines.... en otras épocas de pueden ver mantas voladoras y muchos otros que nos podéis consultar si os interesa para ir en vuestras vacaciones. En Topsailingcharter descubrimos a bordo de un catamarán Lagoon 450 del 2014 sus increíbles paisajes, la cantidad de playas naturales sin nadie en ellas, sus manglares y sus entradas a la playas, nada de contaminación, ni plásticos en las playas, todo en perfecto estado. Playas en México hay infinidad en La isla Espíritu Santo, Isla Partida, Isla San José, Isla San Francisco todas las islas con parajes increíbles que recomendamos visitar una vez en la vida. En todo el recorrido hemos encontrado fondos de arena siempre a unos 5-8 metros máximo de profundidad lo que hace un lugar muy fácil de navegación y de preocupación 0 por la noche.
