Her LOA is 19.3m and she has a beam of 4.6m with a draft of 2.98m She weighs 33t and she can cruise at 7 kts with the engine and 8-10 kts on sail depending on the wind. She is fairly comfortable with 15 to 20 kts of wind. Freshwater capacity to last over 2 weeks and a fuel range of 13 days steaming. About the Boat ''SY Red Current'' is a Southerly 31 with the construction of GRP and rigged as a sloop with Aluminium Mast. Her LOA is 31 feet and she has a beam of 10 feet with a draft of 7 feet. She also has an electric swing keel which makes her draft very shallow and easy to enter in shallow water. After waiting several days at Pioneer Bay, Albany Island at the top of Cape York Australia, we get a weather window to dive the RMS Quetta shipwreck. This is such an isolated location, almost a thousand kilometres by air from the nearest real city and approximately 600 kilometres from the last real town Cooktown, as such the wreck rarely gets dived. It is subject to very strong tidal currents and requires careful planning to execute a safe dive. The RMS Quetta sunk on the 28th February 1890 after leaving Cooktown destined for Thursday Island, hitting an uncharted rock in the middle of the channel near Albany Island at 9:14pm. The Quetta sunk rapidly within 5 minutes and sending 134 of her 292 passengers and crew, to their deaths.

Personne ne conteste l’incroyable confort offert par un multicoque comparé à celui que peut dispenser un monocoque : absence de gîte, vie sur le même niveau, vue panoramique, plus de volume, intimité des cabines... La liste est longue mais bute néanmoins sur un point important, le plaisir de barre. Sur ce terrain là, le monocoque se distingue dans la plupart des cas des catamarans de croisière. Mais le nouveau trimaran NEEL 43 vient rebattre les cartes ! Voilà dix ans qu’Éric Bruneel à lancé son chantier, NEEL Trimarans. Ce constructeur basé à La Rochelle est l’un des seuls dans l’univers des multicoques à proposer des grands trimarans de croisière en série. Dernier né de cette Saga, le NEEL 43 remplaçant du 45 possède des coques et un pont réalisé en sandwich mousse/verre quadriaxial/polyester et vinylester et renforts en carbone. En revanche, de nombreuses pièces non structurelles dans les aménagements comme les contremoules sont conçues avec des matériaux biosourcés grâce à un sandwich qui intègre un tissu verre/lin de 300 g/m2 et une âme en liège. Un soin particulier a été investi dans la maîtrise du devis de poids : avec 9 tonnes au peson, le NEEL 43 est 20 à 30% plus léger que la plupart de ses concurrents. First, the Pandemic, and second our low cash reserves forced us to look for a job sooner than we anticipated. Conceicao was lucky to get a job fast so we have to sail back to Martinique.
