Coosa is a miracle material for the boat industry. Its extremely light, easy to machine and has an AMAZING strength. If I had the budget and the time I would remake every square inch of this boat out of coosa. In my years working with this material I have found that polyester resin is the best type of resin to use. It allows the panel to flex slightly. Almost the entire wheelhouse will be remade with coosa. The cabin roof as well as the house roof will be finished with MDO. In this episode, Capitana Katie, Eddie, and Melanie join as crew for an overnight passage from San Pedro, CA to Smuggler's Cove, Santa Cruz Island. We started with plans for the Coches Prietos anchorage. Due to small craft advisories and forecast winds, we decide to divert to the YellowBanks/Smuggler's Cove anchorages to avoid small, crowded anchorages and the possible need to deploy a stern anchor.
