In this episode, we left Highbourne Cay to begin exploring the Exumas. On our first stop at Little Norman's Cay (aka Saddle Cay), we spent the afternoon on a beautiful sandbar and saw the biggest stingray ever. Adrienne fixes our broken hatch shade and gets a little boat bite in the process. We fended off some idiot jet skiers from a super yacht and searched for the Pirates' Lair with the OliLuki crew while hiking around Warderick Wells. After a long day of exploring, we needed to cool off in the water. Adrienne jumped in and accidentally went skinny dipping when her bikini top came off. It made Jeff happy. NO AUTOPILOT No Problem - SAILING the SEAWIND 1600 Catamaran RI to P town | Harbors Unknown Ep 38 This week we’re leaving Newport, destination Maine coast. Our autopilot isn’t working so we’re sailing our catamaran old school the entire way. First stop Hadley Harbor at the beginning of Cape Cod. Then on to Provincetown via the Cape Cod canal, where we explore this gem of a town and have our first encounter with gray seals, a favorite snack for the famed great white shark. As a couple, catamaran sailing without an autopilot is not an easy feat. We have to sail conservatively, stay alert, and communicate extremely well. It's a challenge, but also a great learning opportunity. So we're taking it head on for the remainder of the summer on our Seawind 1600 catamaran. If you're new here, Harbors Unknown is the story of two dreamers, Kristin and Fabio Potenti, and our French Bulldog dog Yoda. We sold our home at the beginning of the pandemic (May 27th, 2020) and moved aboard our Seawind 1600 #catamaran, Wanderlust, in September. We plan to sail her to Harbors Unknown, and explore the world’s vast cultures through food, a common thread amongst people everywhere. After a total of 35 races, the Regattaclub Oberhofen won with a hitchcock-final against Yacht Club Arbon - both teams had the same amount of points. On the 3rd place got Zürcher Segel Club. Many new friendships, many new impressions, a lot of learnings, fair sailing, passion and cooperation. A great women event got to an end. See you next year in Biel-Bienne.

At the Women's Cup in Davos, on the second day, 14 races were sailed. The teams performed better. Various tactics and shifty winds at the luv mark challenged the teams. On land, the dearest of the women took care of the children. Beautiful weather and a great ambiance made all the sailors and organisers with their volunteers more than happy. Regattaclub Oberhofen took the lead, followed by Yacht Club Arbon and Zürcher Segel Club.

In Davos, the 4th Swiss Sailing League Women's Cup took place. The best teams will qualify to the Women's SAILING Champions League 2022 in Lausanne. Host is the DSSC - Davoser Surf- and Sailing Club. Fourtheen teams fight for the Cup.

Nella terza tappa di questo viaggio in #barca a vela, partiamo in auto da Mantova diretti al marina turistico di Brindisi dove abbiamo lasciato in custodia la nostra "Mon Etap". Lungo il tragitto ci fermiamo a Gabicce Mare per una cena di pesce e una bella dormita in Albergo. L'indomani raggiungiamo Brindisi e salpiamo per Otranto dove una fastidiosa risacca ci darà filo da torcere per tutto il pomeriggio mentre la sera, visiteremo la città. La mattina mettiamo la prua su Santa Maria di Leuca dove passiamo un pomeriggio di bagni e relax e verso le ore 19 salpiamo per attraversare in notturna il golfo di Taranto. Crotone, Roccella Ionica e poi si inizia il passaggio dello stretto di Messina, dove ci fermiamo per una notte in un bellissimo porticciolo, molto intimo e con un acqua strepitosa . Attraversato lo stretto, bagno veloce a Scilla e rotta sulle Isole Eolie, visita a Lipari e il giorno successivo tocca a Vulcano. Prua verso Cefalù, bagno alla traina in 1300 metri d'acqua e la sera visita del paese. Il penultimo giorno, navigazione movimentata verso Palermo dove attracchiamo alle 20, l'ultimo giorno, invece, prendiamo un bus e dirigiamo su Catania per una breve visita alla città e poi aereo verso l'aeroporto di Verona.

We sailed from Marstrand to Hönö (west-coast) in Sweden. We could sail down wind with only the genoa. We had about 20 knots of wind. Windfinder, our Hallberg-Rassy 43, sailed beautiful. Arriving in Hönö, we could dock along side in the guest harbour.

We sailed from Vlieland to Mandal (Norway) in 44 hours. From Mandal we sailed to Kristiansand, following Lillesand. Stay tuned for part 2.

At our first stop in Komodo you will be blown away by the sheer abundance of the marine life and reefscapes just beneath the surface. During our time in Komodo there are excellent chances of snorkeling next to graceful manta rays, sleepy sea turtles, and shimmering schools of fish big and small. Here we base ourselves in the secluded island resort aptly called Komodo Resort which is situated on its own private island complete with hiking trails, a spa, gym, decadent meals, and an outstanding house reef. Better yet, the resort is on the doorsteps to the national park boundary where we will have multiple daily snorkeling excursions to where we hope to encounter turtles, reef sharks, cephalopods, and giant manta rays! For the second leg of the trip, we move over to Wakatobi where we will stay with one of Indonesia's most well-known resorts, Wakatobi Resort. 2021’s LEGO Star Wars 75312 Slave 1 (renamed Boba Fett’s Starship) is actually extremely impressive for the small size and relatively small piece count. We have seen quite a few version’s of Slave 1 over the years, and this is one of the smallest so far. In this week's episode Melissa insulates the pilot house and gets into to awkward spaces to paint an area of the bilge while Andy is hard at work in his day job. We also have a surprise visit from Gemma and Simon from the youtube channel @ShipHappensUK. Simon helps Melissa Get one of the nuts off the pilot pin for the lifting keel. ready for when Melody is lifted soon for the keel to be removed. Remember we're doing all of this so we can go full time cruising as a sailing family in a few years time. WE tour around the BIG Island of Hawaii in 3 days and jam it full of adventures. It's been a month since we have set foot on land after crossing the Pacific Ocean, so for the following 3 days we make it our mission to do as much as possible on the Big Island Hawaii. First stop was to visit the Pu'uhonua O Hōnaunau National Historical Park or City of Refuge. Learn a little about the history of the Hawaiian Islands. Then right next door we get in the water for the first time since leaving Mexico! And the water is fantastic! WE snorkel with the beautiful tropical fish of Hawaii and even get an up close and personal visit with the local spinner dolphins. WE hike a beautiful trail down to the Captain Cook's memorial, and then the adventures continue as we drive around the entire island, crossing through 8 of the 13 world climate zones all on one little BIG island.
