2020’s LEGO Mos Eisley Cantina has really outdone itself! With a total of 21 minifigs (7 being new), a Jawa Shop, a Mos Eisley home, a Ubrikkian 9000 Speeder, a V-35 Landspeeder, and a Dewback, this set is beast! While 2021’s LEGO R2-D2 set isn’t technically a UCS set, it definitely deserves to be. R2 is one of the most iconic Star Wars characters and this LEGO set does not disappoint. A perfect mix of technic and standard bricks and packed with features like Luke Skywalker’s hidden lightsaber, a periscope, and retractable function arms, and a Lucasfilm 50th Anniversary Brick make this a must have set from 2021—maybe even if you already have the LEGO R2-D2 set from 2012. 2021’s LEGO Star Wars Mandalorian Starfighter (75316) is a pretty awesome play set. It is quite similar to the 2012 Pre Vizla’s Mandalorian Starfighter, but seeing as that set was released almost 10 years, ago, I would bet that most people interested in this set do not have the 2012 version. I think most people will love the minifig selection in this set: Bo-Katan Kryze, Gar Saxon, and a Mandalorian Loyalist. I love having three awesome minifigs in a $60 set. 2021’s LEGO Star Wars 75312 Slave 1 (renamed Boba Fett’s Starship) is actually extremely impressive for the small size and relatively small piece count. We have seen quite a few version’s of Slave 1 over the years, and this is one of the smallest so far. The set comes with a new Boba Fett minifig, The Mandalorian minifig, a gamorian in carbonite, and a cart that doubles as a surprisingly sturdy stand for the ship. After a very long wait, the LEGO UCS Republic Gunship (75309) has finally arrived! Even though we didn’t get Jedi Bob or a clone pilot like we wanted, I think may be the most incredible set of the year! A Star Wars masterpiece in my opinion. Deciding which of the 5 LEGO Star Wars helmets can be hard! This is great new collection that LEGO has started and I am really hoping they will continue the tradition in the coming year.
