After an aborted attempt to leave Milford Haven to head towards Cardiff in easterly winds we finally break free. We manage some sailing, some motoring and are escorted by dolphins. Always amazing and we are so excited to share our experience with you all. We anchor at Rhossili Bay for the night then head around worms head by the inshore passage to Cardiff. The passage is extremely foggy but in the last hour of the journey the fog clears and we arrive in Cardiff with glorious sunshine, resulting in a happy crew! In which we transit the infamous Hell Gate to Liberty Marina in NJ in the middle of the night. The entire passage took about 5 hours from Manhasset Bay to the slip at Liberty. We needed to go at 2am because the best time to transit with the current in your favor is to start at Throgs Neck at slack ebb tide (and we didn't want to wait another 12 hours for the next one). Time is the most precious commodity of all. Life is happening in the present. It can be scary to take a risk, but also lead to some of the most beautiful and rewarding moments. If you put your dreams off to long they may never happen. We wanted to “have it all”, and be able to fly and sail the world. Unfortunately plans and reality don’t always align, and as time kept ticking we had to make a decision. We decided to resign from our pilot positions and use our time now to continue our dream and finish what we started. We're back to full time cruising life and will sail Skylark the rest of the way across the Indian Ocean and beyond... Rantautuminen ahtaaseen ja täysnäiseen Visbyseen! Teemme hienon landauksen Visbyn satamaan Tukholma viikoilla. Menoa ja melskettä riittää. Kaupunkiloma parhaimmillaan. Ja vielä purjehtien saavutettu! We are landing to tight quarters of Visby guest harbor and we land it perfectly. There is Stockholm weeks ongoing so much of people and action in the city! Sailing ORIZON - Segeln im Mittelmeer... Hallo, es ist an der Zeit, dass wir mal wieder was hören lassen. Dieses Jahr ist bei uns das Segeln aus diversen Gründen flach gefallen, uns geht es aber super gut und alles ist in bester Ordnung. Nächstes Jahr wollen wir wieder segeln und dann geht es auch hier wieder weiter. Unsere ORIZON stand jetzt ein Jahr bei Preveza an Land und es war unbedingt an der Zeit nach dem Rechten zu schauen. У нас недельный чартер по островам Греции 2-ого Сентября 2021 г. Часть команды прибыла в Афины откуда отправились в морской порт города Пирей (пригород Афин, 10 км. от столицы) где сели на паром и 5-6 часов на пароме по Эгейскому морю (на юг) добирались до острова Парос, куда прибыли в 23:00.. Большинство из нас были уставшими и пошли спасть. Мы же с Андреем (наш капитан) в 2 часа ночи пошли на море, искупались и познакомились с ночной жизнью Науссы (деревушка на севере острова) ================================ We have one week charter on a cat hopping between Greek islands. Part of the crew safely made it to Athens, Greece on Sep 2, 2021 with further taking a bus to PIreus sea port to board a ferry that was to take us to Paros island. Ferry was a 5-6 hours journey.
