After a two-year hiatus the 53rd edition of Antigua Sailing Week was brimming with success. The trade winds blew all week, with the international fleet enjoying exhilarating racing in sailing paradise. The compliments from sailors from the four corners of the earth are over-flowing for Antigua Sailing Week which is back and here to stay. All of the class winners, bareboat overall and the Lord Nelson Trophy winner at Antigua Sailing Week were awarded Locman Italy watches at the Antigua & Barbuda Tourism Final Awards Ceremony in Nelson’s Dockyard, Antigua. Guests of Honour at the ceremony were: Hon. Chet Greene Minister of Foreign Affairs, Immigration and Trade and Hon. Darryl Matthew, Minister of Sports, Culture, National Festival and the Arts. To a loud applause by the capacity crowd, Chet Greene announced: “After two years Antigua Sailing Week is back. I commend the organisers, Alison Sly-Adams and her team, and the event sponsors. Racing this year were 85 boats from 20 countries. It has been an incredible week and the Government of Antigua & Barbuda will continue to invest in Antigua Sailing Week as a main element of our chosen events. I welcome all competitors and look forward to their return in 2023.” The overall winner of Antigua Sailing Week was Peter Corr’s invincible team racing the King 40 Blitz from St Thomas USVI. Scoring straight bullets in CSA 4, Peter Corr and his team lifted the Lord Nelson Trophy and was awarded a Locman Italy watch. ‘This is a total surprise,” commented Blitz’s Peter Corr. “We have had a wonderful set of races and the team have raced hard all week to make this award happen but it has not been easy. It has been about 10 years since I have been to Antigua Sailing Week and I really don’t know why it has taken so long to come back, however, I am delighted we did. Dawn on the morning of the 7th of May saw 108 boats all over the country greeting the sunrise as part of Darkness into Light, Pieta’s annual fundraising campaign to raise vital funds for people affected by suicide and self harm. On the water were a mix of dinghies, cruisers and ribs, joined by paddleboarders and rowers, to see a spectacular sunrise with 9 clubs taking part: Bantry Bay SC, Bray SC, Blessington SC, Galway City SC, Galway Bay SC, Galway Hooker SC, Howth YC, Royal Irish YC and Royal St George YC. Par mauvais temps, nuageux, les panneaux solaires ne produisent pas assez pour subvenir au besoin à bord de notre bateau. La solution simple et efficace que je conseil est de faire fonctionner le moteur pour que l'alternateur débite du courant. Oui mais le problème est que nos alternateurs à bord de nos bateaux ne sont pas conçu pour recharger notre parc de batterie de servitude. Par défaut, le constructeur du moteur installe un régulateur dédié à la charge d'une batterie de démarrage. J’essaie de vous expliquer cela en vidéo et de vous montrer l'utilité d'un régulateur d'alternateur dit "booster d'alternateur" qui est plus ou moins Plug And Play et qui permet en 1 heure de temps de recharger une journée d'usage électrique. J'ai donc installer à bord de notre voilier un régulateur Sterling 130Amperes : https://galaxymarine.fr/boutique/sterling-power/electricite/booster-alternateur/ab12130-chargeur-dalternateur-12volts-130-amperes/ Alternateur puissant : https://balmar.net/ ou https://www.prestolite-eu.com/pc/alternators/ Ce genre de booster d'alternateur et de problématique se retrouve aussi chez nos amis les camping caristes. Une autre problématique est a souligné depuis quelques années chez eux et vient aussi leur bloqué cette solution avec les nouvelles normes anti pollution qui contraint l'alternateur à s’arrêter de fonctionner pour économiser 0.01L/hrs d'usage ... Donc pour résumé, sur mon bateau, (ce qui ne signifie pas que c'est une vérité absolue pour ton usage) : - avec un système d'alternateur et de régulateur classique, ta charge sera de 20amperes pendant 20minutes puis 5/10 ampères maximum même à 2000trs débrayé. - Avec un booster d'alternateur (et avec l'alternateur d'origine), ta charge sera de 20 Ampères non stop puis 50 Ampères à 1500trs débrayé. Le moteur, je le met en marche uniquement avant la tombée de la nuit car c'est le moment critique qui va me déterminer si j'ai assez de capacité de batteries pour tenir toute la nuit ou pas. Cala del Forte è stata una piacevole scoperta, che assieme al borgo storico del paese crea un’immagine affascinante tra vecchia e nuova Liguria. Abbiamo proseguito verso la bella baia di Villefranche sur Mer assaporando le atmosfere uniche che solo la Costa Azzurra regala ai suoi visitatori. Partiamo con il nostro “Ronik” assieme ad amici per goderci appieno mare e storia. Amiamo viaggiare ed ogni luogo che visitiamo è sempre una piacevole scoperta. La vela è viaggio, il viaggio è scoperta e conoscenza, la conoscenza è cultura, non è importante la destinazione ma il viaggio stesso! Wir haben für Euch einen Tag mit der Yachtredaktion Feuersprays getestet und dabei auch die klassischen Löschmittel unter die Lupe genommen. Michael Köhler und das Team von RelyOnNutec geben einen kompakten Überblick mit Vor- und Nachteilen der Löschmittel und welches Ihr bei einem Fettbrand auf gar keinem Fall. First sail and start of boat jobs! After years of grief for my husband I've decided to change our home for a sailboat with ZERO experience...I'm just following my heart. I stay with my girls in The Netherlands where we at first will live on the boat( which we are looking for) untill my youngest will fly out..Then I will set sail. Of course it COULD have been colder, and it did get colder as the winter went on in Port Townsend. Boat life comes with certain chores that, just like in a house, must be done regardless of wether or not you're in the Bahamas, or in the Pacific Northwest in the winter.
