FIRST was born forty-five years ago with a vision that remains unchanged today: bringing the thrill of performance sailing to all sailors on all oceans, with a design that is suitable for cruising and an execution that reflects the very latest techniques and technologies of the boatbuilding industry. We are delighted to finally present the remarkable result of these decades of experience - the new FIRST 36. -- About BENETEAU -- The first BENETEAU boats sailed from the shipyards of Croix-de-Vie over 135 years ago. Since that time, the BENETEAU brand has been synonymous with quality and innovation to all those who have taken to the water – first by the fishermen who made their livelihood from the sea and then by the legions of recreational boaters around the globe. Over the years, our commitment to innovating and embracing ideas, no matter how unconventional, has been at the forefront of who we are in order to bring you the best boat possible. BENETEAU was one of the first boatbuilders many years ago to use computer-aided design (CAD) as well as lighter, stronger composite building materials. We’ve also been at the cutting edge of using greener materials and processes to do our part in protecting the incredible world which we explore. However, all this innovation doesn’t mean we’ve turned our back on tradition. One thing we’ve discovered in over a century of boatbuilding is that new-world innovations work best with old-school craftsmanship. This combination has resulted in some of the most iconic sailboats and powerboats in the world – supremely seaworthy yachts renowned for their sense of style, luxury, and comfort along with their creative use of space and new technologies. -- Philosophy -- We’re a lot like you. We love the water in all its forms – the ocean, bays, lakes, and rivers. And we love sharing the boating lifestyle with our family and friends. This love manifests itself in every BENETEAU built in any one of our many manufacturing facilities worldwide. Every BENETEAU sailboat and powerboat on the water reflects the best efforts of the finest architects, designers, and craftsmen along with the highest quality materials and the latest innovations. When you purchase a BENETEAU, you become a valued member of our BENETEAU family. For this reason, our after-sale service is second to none as evidenced by the multitude of National Marine Manufacturers CSI Awards for Excellence in Customer Service. At the core of this outstanding service is our exceptional dealer network. Every one of our authorized BENETEAU dealers will be there for you – from choosing the right yacht to the handover and beyond. Your dealer will be your able guide when it comes to maintaining your boat properly and will help you maximize the return on your investment when it comes time to step up to another BENETEAU – and it usually does! We wouldn’t have it any other way. This week Ganymede went into the dry dock for blacking and a full survey. I didn't get any footage of the blacking, but did manage to get some of the boat in the dock before the work began. It was in the dock for 5 days and I had to move off, so not much else happened on the boat this week. But I'm very pleased to be back on board!

#Salona46 #electricboat - Edited and produced by #Way2Sea, cinematography by Mario Jelavic. MORE INFO & LINKS : WEB http://www.mariojelavic.com/ FACEBOOK https://m.facebook.com/way2sea/ INSTAGRAM https://instagram.com/mariojelavic?igshid=gf9kjk1irthl 46 - XLVI At the beginning of October, we premiered our new yacht, the SALONA 46, fast, comfortable and luxurious, unique electric yacht in the World equipped with a distinctive electric propulsion system. The new Salona 46 combines the best technology, design, quality, and comfort elements with absolutely stunning outdoor. It is built to be solid but lightweight due to advanced construction techniques. Hull and deck are produced in vacuum infusion in vinyl ester resin which results beyond the expected sailing performance. Besides, the Salona 46, like all previous boat models, is reinforced with a steel internal frame construction that supports the keel, mast and gives the yacht an extremely strong and reliable construction. At the same time, it’s smooth and easy to sail. Take your hand off the steering wheel, and the balanced rudder helps it stay on course for a few seconds as if it knew what it was supposed to be doing all along. The fractional rig and the oversized winches mean trimming the jib is relatively easy. The main is easy to hoist with an electric winch and drops neatly into the stack pack when you’re done sailing for the day. The clean and modern design of Salona 46, performed by J&J design team in collaboration with Salona, set the new standards of luxury yacht design. Both three and four-cabin versions are available with king-size beds and full standing height, not forgetting good size wardrobes and storage facilities suitable for a memorable and comfortable sailing journey with family or friends. It also features two comfortable bathrooms, with two showers offered as standard, for the superb convenience. Salona semi-custom yachts allow each customer to implement his ideas and wishes in creating a dream Salona yacht. Sailing to secluded beaches, Skinny dipping, Beach picnics, Dolphins, new destinations, hiking and finally some warm weather! This week we Sail to an amazing secluded beach only accessible by boat ON Simi Island in Greece. It turns out to be a lot warmer than we anticipated for our beach picnic and we really didn't dress for the occasion, so we make the most of having the entire beach to ourselves and go for a nude swim! We sail to the other side of the island to get some protection from some strong wind forecast, do a bit of hiking and then leave for another island called Chalki, on the way were lucky enough to be treated to some dolphins playing at the bow! what an amazing introduction to being back in Greece! Trouble is- we were in a pandemic, had a university degree to finish, on a student budget, only had ever sailed dingies, oh and didn’t have a boat. The dream seemed not only unrealistic but pretty insane. However, we worked hard, finished our degrees, worked as many hours as physically possible, saved with all our might, got experience and in March 2022 bought our very own sailboat, Teulu. Having little sailing experience and being a young couple, we have encountered a tonne of hurdles and made plenty of mistakes! but for every downfall, there has always been a reason to dust ourselves off and carry on. We hope you can join us as we sail around the world and keep #bloodydoingit #sailing #boatlife

Are modern yachts to high tech and why is everything made so unnecessary complicated. Im showing you my work around solution building a very simple analoge system replacing computer that failed. Old school thinking and make things stupid simple, yet working just as good for 1/8 off the price. Yachts today are full of motherboards bluetooth wifi computers and controllers. Micro switches and sensors, all the things that you really don't want onboard. Its fancy and super cool when it works, but countless hours of work to troubleshoot when it fails. And it do fail on a boat, this is the only guarantee a sailor have. This is my final video from Martinique as Im setting sail west starting on my long sail (1300 nautical miles) SOLO. Next episode might be delayed as Im real time on my uploads. Its not much wind in the weather predictions, so estimated sailing time is around 7 days. Thank you for waiting and for being around! THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR WATCHING AND SUBSCRIBING! Most of the time I sail singlehanded but occasionally I do have sailing friends onboard. Still in the Caribbean due to Covid and was supposed to be in Asia by now. Even though this is season 4 on youtube I did not make that many videos in the beginning. Before full-time sailing, I have sailed several seasons in the Med prior to this, and obviously also in Scandinavia. I have been traveling the world before and also been an active regatta sailor. I had my first sailboat at age 7 and been sailing ever since. Also more than 10 years experience from Search and Rescue at sea in Norway. PLEASE BE KIND IN THE COMMENTS! I'm just a normal person sharing my travel adventure through my eyes and experience from my perspective! Remember how I do things might work for me but not for you. It might even not be the correct way to do things, and I don't have the blueprint either. I'm not perfect and nobody is. The day I believe I know it all and don't think I can learn new things I should go ashore.

Tour around our Outremer 5x We have a 4 cabin layout with 2 showers and 2 toilets. We have been sailing for the last 3 months and we have not come across one sailing vessel as fast as the outremer 5X. This catamaran was set up specifically for racing, so its a vessel above our ability at this time, but we are learning more and more each day. When we we searching for what type of boat to buy I was very hesitant due to the fact that we have had little experience on any type of boat. We looked at Lagoon catamarans, leopard catamarans, Bali catamarans, and many other brands, but we would always gravitate back to the Outremer. Inspired by Sailing La Vagabonde, as we watched their YouTube channel week after week for a few years and to hear of their experiences with Outreamer, we knew Outremer would be the best bout catamaran for our family. Here is a link to their latest YouTube video https://youtu.be/y-YpOdzieTU They seriously have been a massive inspiration to me. With no sailing experience they have definitely made things happen. The only other catamaran I wish we would have looked into was the HH. They look amazing, but still to this day I have not been on one. Their are not many performance oriented catamarans, so we are glad we found one. When looking to buy a catamaran you look for comfort, as its going to be your new home. but we are a 60 foot catamaran where a 40 foot lagoon probably has the same amount of living space. The only difference is in light wind the outremer will sail, where the lagoon will be motoring. The boat itself has been incredible with all the carbon fiber build it is one of the fastest causing catamarans built. We are grateful to be about to learn to sail on such a fabulous vessel. right now we are putting on a new generator Piccolo 5, our solar is works great however every once in a while we need just a little more boost. so we are buying a peace of mind. Sailing on a catamaran and a monohull can be different experiences, as they have different characteristics and design features. Catamarans are generally wider and more stable than monohulls, which makes them a good choice for those who are looking for a smoother and more comfortable sailing experience. They also tend to have more space on deck and below deck, which can be a major advantage for those who value comfort and want to use their boat for longer trips or for living aboard. Monohulls, on the other hand, are typically faster and more maneuverable than catamarans. (Excluding performance Catamarans, as we pass most people.) They are often favored by sailors who enjoy the challenge of sailing in more difficult conditions and who appreciate the classic look of a traditional sailing vessel. Additionally, monohulls are often better at handling heavy winds and rough seas, which can make them more suitable for experienced sailors. Ultimately, the choice between a catamaran and a monohull will depend on your personal preferences and the type of sailing you plan to do. Some sailors prefer the stability and comfort of a catamaran, while others enjoy the speed and handling of a monohull. It's important to consider your own needs and sailing style when making a decision, and to try out different types of boats if possible to determine which is right for you.
This episode took some making!!! We decided to share this horrible experience with you in the hope you learn from our mistakes, and to show how crazy sailing life can be. Weather can change so quickly and things can go wrong so easily! Leading up to the day in question in this episode, we had put our stern anchor out to keep ourselves facing into the swell, so it wasn't uncomfortable in the anchorage when the wind was opposing the swell. Unfortunately totally unpredicted wind and waves built overnight and we woke to the deteriorating conditions we found ourselves in, looking back we would of done things differently, but on this day we chose to retrieve our stern anchor, Chris and Beau went out in the tender to do so and I stayed onboard with Bear to control Pickle incase we started to drag on our bow/primary anchor when the stern anchor was removed and we turned back into a more natural position on our front anchor. We finally get around to cutting the prop shaft and attaching the prop to the engine. We spend some time aligning the two up before moving on to the installation of the exhaust and the heater. Things are getting even more serious now as we are approaching the finishing line. Carla puts even more cables into the boat, ones that we had forgotten at the beginning which makes more difficult as all the walls are covered. But at the end she found a way through to fix it all. These cables are go into the bow locker. It all starts to look very ready even thinking that are still a lot of things to e finished. Follow our blog with our daily adventures on Facebook . Thank you very much, you guys are amazing supporting us with your likes and comments, we really feel that we have a new family out there. Much love Carla & Simon A little bit about us... We met in the summer 2015, we were introduced to each other by the virtual world. Eighteen months later we were getting married on a beautiful beach on Barbados, bare foot, very simple ceremony just like a dream! Two days after the wedding laying on the beach, talking about sailing, Carla suggested... why don't we sail around the world? Guess what Simon said? "Let's do it" He took it with no second thoughts! And here we are, two years after that day in Barbados, we started our adventure in Croatia. We made it happen working through all the challenges on the way. Now we are enjoying this wonderful life, and what a wonderful life it is! As we travel we will cross less fortunate countries, we would love to help to build a school or a health care centre, anything that these people may need, and in our beautiful world this is taken for granted. But for these people it's a dream, or may not even be a dream. We will look around and when the opportunity to help comes we will put our hands and hearts in to it.
We're still in Long Island in the Bahamas! And today we decided to explore literally every inch of it. All 57 miles of it, from the Columbus Monument in the north to Gordan's Bar and Restaurant in the south. ⛵️ Ways You Can Support Our #adventure Like & Comment On This Video 👉 It's 100% free! Épisode 3 - Avril Mai 2022 en California
After a 6 month trip offshore often facing great danger, Arjuna and her crew managed to get back safely to their marina in Bridgewater, Nova Scotia. Two days after their arrival, they get rammed while they were peacefully attached to the marina’s wall. On Friday, May 20th, during launching, the two persons onboard the blue sailboat fell in the river while trying to dock. That left the boat unattended at great speed turning on his port side until it brutally crash on Arjuna. No one got injured, but both boats are highly damaged. Arjuna has a 4-inch hole in the hull, above the water line and squeezed against the wall ruining the paint, lifeline, and gunwale. The blue sailboat had to be put out of the water right away.

This is Episode 33 of our adventure. This week Kelly is on a course. MCA STCW Proficiency in Medical Care Aboard a Ship at Hamble School of Yachting. On the off chance we email to see if we could have a berth on site and they say yes! The boat isn't ready for any long passages but this was just around the corner so we decided to go for it. It was the kids first trip on the Esperance and they loved it. Kelly reflects on how hard it was to face up to the realities of a medical emergency at sea but finds comfort in all she learnt. We are a family of five with plans for an epic adventure, sailing around the world. We have bought a boat we have to gut it, rebuild it, sell all of our possessions and have the guts to cast off. Follow our adventures. Leave us a comment, watch our other videos, join our Facebook page, become part of our journey. https://www.facebook.com/fivegosailing https://www.instagram.com/fivegosailing
