Also known as The Straad, St Ninian’s Bay is another small bay on the west coast of Bute. St Ninian’s point is a spit of land that can become cut off with spring tides, but the Bay itself is protected by this promonotory. The Bay commands breathtaking views of Inchmarnock, and is home to St Ninian’s Chapel. The bay itself once supported a thriving fishing fleet and as such the beach is covered with a sand of white cockleshells. This week we have fun at anchor, enjoy a BBQ with friends and forget many things.... Who are we? We are a family of three with three dogs, sailing the coasts of Scotland, exploring one island at a time – for now! There is no set route or plan. We will go where the wind and life take us. We have two golden retrievers and a bernese mountain dog – Hachi, Luna and Meems who sail with us. ** NOW SOLD ** With nearly 1000 Lagoon 380’s built, this is the world’s most successful cruising catamaran to date. The overall size of the 380 covers all bases, including simple couple day sailing, extended family cruising and even entertaining multiple guests. Even today, few catamarans can offer such a useable and practical steering position as the 380 - to view all four corners of the vessel while being slightly elevated from the cockpit yet having complete uninterrupted contact with guests in the cockpit and even saloon. In addition, the recessed cockpit feels safe and secure and has ample storage lockers. Further impressive storage is found in both bow lockers and the forward deck lockers, just forward of her coachroof. Saci has the versatile four-cabin layout for ultimate flexibility. Large double berth cabins are aft; centrally located the heads with showers and forward the slightly smaller but good-sized V-berths. The saloon is light and airy, with the navigation station to port. Centrally located is the curved saloon settee with a table. The L-shaped galley is to starboard, which opens via a breakfast bar to a cockpit/coffee table and dinette. There is a good-sized fridge and a cockpit mounted stainless steel gas BBQ. Saci is powered by 2 x Yanmar diesel (port engine from 2012 with 2,415hrs - starboard 2010 with 2,950 hrs), has a Spectra 12v 24l/h Watermaker (service required) and for further autonomy, a 330 W solar panel. A Southern Pacific Rib with a 9.9Hp Mercury Outboard motor is stored on the davits. Her mainsail and genoa are in good condition, and her stainless-steel rigging was replaced in 2017. Ordered with nearly all the boxes ticked, Mojito’s specification includes an upgraded 140hp shaft driven diesel, Onan 9.5kva genset running a full electric galley and Cruisair Multizone reverse cycle air conditioning. An electric furler runs her J1 and an easily controlled furling cutter rig sits inside. All sailing winches are electric and her main is in mast and brand new. A very simple and efficient davit system controls her RIB tender. Her layout is exceptionally versatile. From the stern, her full beam owners cabin and ensuite is incredible. A raised saloon allows great vision and light and her slightly sunken galley to port and aft is usable and well specified. Her forward cabin can be partitioned to form two guest cabins with pullman bunks and separate heads, or a massive forward cabin with four berths and two heads. Forward of the heads is a V-berth or deck accessed storage. Her cockpit was designed for lounging. With a massive Bimini, Dodger and clears the entire cockpit can convert into a completely protected space.

After our stopover at Marineland Marina, we continued on the intracoastal waterway (ICW) north to Fernandina Beach on Amelia Island. We anchored near Tiger Island and for $4/day we had access to the marina's dinghy dock. There we explored this quaint little town and it's unique style buildings, went for a run to see the beach and hit the local farmer's market. We found a haul out boat yard that will take our large Fountaine Pajot Helia 44 out just in time for the much needed work that needs to be done before sailing across the Pacific Ocean. Luckily for us, there was no major delay in our schedule and timing for leaving Mexico. During the fourth and final day of sailing at our best-loved event, the fleet headed off north towards Monaci. Ammonite and Sorceress fit another skirmish into their event-long sailing challenge. This time even the local dolphins checked in on the action, swimming with Ammonite and bringing her the luck to capture line honours for the day. Sorceress and Ammonite were awarded ex aequo for the excellent show of sportsmanship and pure sailing enjoyment that they have given us all here in Porto Cervo and in the racing fleet Morgana won for the best performing Southern Wind yachts and third prize in the Superyacht Cruising Division.

Depois de um tempo afastado para tratamento de saúde (implantação de 5 pontes de safena no coração) estou de volta para apresentar o segundo e último vídeo da serie de ponteamento interno e externo das chapas de alumínio do costado. Nesse período ocorreu a complementação dos pontos de solda para manter fracamente posicionadas as chapas de alumínio nas estruturas de seções transversais e das barras chatas longitudinais, em seguida realizou-se o reforço desses pontos de solda para se conseguir uma solidez excepcional de modo a garantir uma excelente segurança para os soldadores na criação dos chanfros e das juntas de solda , em qualquer lugar do costado , tendo-se assim juntas dentro dos padrões estabelecidos na EPS. Na maioria da soldagem das chapas utilizou-se a junta de solda do tipo Chanfro em Duplo V (ou X), em algumas posições foi utilizada a junta de solda do tipo Vhanfro em V. Vamos apresentar também uma visão geral das juntas de soldas realizadas nos costados de bombordo e boreste e alguns testes com liquido penetrante e liquido revelador que foram realizados após as soldagens de determinadas áreas.
