Sailing ORIZON - Segeln im Mittelmeer... In Porto Cheli angekommen versorgen wir uns erst mal mit frischen Lebensmitteln, bringen Wäsche in die Laundry und gucken uns das Städtchen ein bisschen an. Die große Bucht gefällt uns gut, weil sie sehr geschützt ist und alles mögliche zum Versorgen bietet. Gleich um die Ecke befindet sich die hübschen Bucht Khersonisos Ermionis in der wir herrlich baden und schnorcheln können. Aber dann streikt wieder eine unserer Bordtoiletten und der verstopfte Ablauf muss nun doch erneuert werden. Also wieder nach Porto Cheli, neuen Schlauch besorgen und mal wieder eine Toiliette reparieren... +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Arriving in Porto Cheli, we first get fresh groceries, take laundry to the laundry and have a look at the little town. We like the large bay because it is very sheltered and offers everything possible to take care of. Just around the corner is the pretty bay of Khersonisos Ermionis where we can swim and snorkel. But then one of our on-board toilets goes on strike again and the clogged drain has to be replaced after all. So back to Porto Cheli, get a new hose and repair a toilet again... Auch wenn es im Winter in der Adria so kalt ist wie im Sommer an der Ostsee. So hart sind wir dann doch. Endlich Wind (bisschen viel beim ankern), Sonne und völlige Einsamkeit. Frisches Unterwasserschiff und neues Segelkleid lassen die VOAYGER über die Kvarner Bucht fliegen! Wir probieren auch die Fock aus und entsprechend das fliegende Kutterstag und Achterstag. Ankern dann bei 28 Knoten ist auch bewegt und aufregend!

Es ist ein gutes Gefühl zu wissen, dass wir ab jetzt weniger als 1000 Seemeilen bis zu unserem Ziel haben. Es ist ab jetzt ein bisschen absehbarer, wie lange es noch sein wird. S'il y a une île à ne pas manquer en arrivant aux Canaries, c'est bien La Graciosa. Quasiment déserte, eaux turquoises dans un paysage volcanique, les voitures y sont absentes, à quelques encablures de Lanzarote. Le lieu idéal pour refaire un peu d'activité et récupérer après avoir passé un peu plus de 5 jours en mer. Projeto de catamarã de stand up paddle começou!! Falta ainda grana pra comprar tecido, resina epoxy entre algumas outras coisas. Mas o importante é começar com o que eu tenho hoje. Vou comprar e pesquisar a madeira pra lateral, vou adiantar o que eu puder e correr atrás de vender alguma coisa pra comprar a resina. E trabalhar ainda mais pra conquistar esse objetivo. Vejo muitas pessoas abrindo "vaquinha online", "pedindo apoio", etc... Mas siceramente não consigo fazer isso. Acredito no projeto e vou correr atrás eu mesmo. Quando estiver lá na frente viajando por lugares onde talvez eu não consiga fazer uma grana, ai sim quem sabe vender produtos pra apoiar o meu projeto. Mas pedir algo assim? Não faz parte. Acredito que até o final da confecção dessa prancha eu leve 2 meses? Quem sabe? Vamos ver o que vai rolar. Después de un fin de semana de pura playa en la ría de Vigo, a treinta y pico grados todo el día, sol y moscas, amanece parcialmente nublado, con seria amenaza de cambio del tiempo. Podría sonar a cambio de planes, nos vamos al monte. Pues no! Preparamos la maniobra de aparejo de labor y nos disponemos a zarpar en un día inmejorable para la práctica de la vela. Viento de componente SW de veinte nudos constantes y rachas de hasta veinticinco hace que no se nos ocurra otra cosa más que ponernos a navegar de ceñida. Ya sabéis que ceñir es de pobres. Pero, ¿qué le vamos a hacer? En el vídeo te explico que mucho antes de rizar, de tener en cuenta la maniobra de rizos, es más coherente trimar bien las velas. En este caso debemos utilizar los controles para así conseguir aplanarlas lo máximo posible. Debemos dejarlas como si fueran de chapa, que el viento deslice. A mitad de vídeo comenzamos a navegar de largo. No te pierdas unas preciosas trasluchadas a cargo del patrón David, que a sus catorce años recoge una dilatada experiencia al timón. Si es que realmente se ha criado a bordo, entre escotas y drizas. Fíjate bien cómo la mar nos deja el costado lleno de espuma tras abandonarnos por el costado de sotavento. But getting to the start of a race that doesn't start until 2024 is harder than ever before. The 3,500 mile race from Les Sables d'Olonne on the west coast of France that loops Iceland before returning back to Britanny takes the entire fleet into unfamiliar territory. Heading into the Arctic Circle the fleet goes further north than they go south in the Vendée Globe. Rather than trying to out run weather systems as they do in the Southern Ocean, this time they will be heading straight into them. So with 25 entries, including some of the world's top solo sailors, it's shaping up to be a fascinating race. Matt Sheahan walks the dockside and considers the runners and riders.
