Nous vous présentons quelques images d'un joli 9 trous sur la côte sud du Portugal. Ce golf est implanté dans un lotissement résidentiel, l'ambiance est plutôt sympa et les tarifs restent relativement raisonnables pour le secteur. Le parcours est très bien entretenu, les greens sont rapides, assez fermes, souvent compliqués avec des pentes pas faciles à lire. Bien sûr des paysages fabuleux et un trou signature avec un coup de fer au-dessus d'un immense canyon.

Ein Refit steht an. Doch Broterwerb und Verpflichtungen lassen es nicht zu, monatelang in Griechenland am Boot zu arbeiten. Da wird schon 2018 die Idee geboren Squib nach Wien zu bringen, wo man jederzeit Zugang hat, der Einkauf von Material in der Muttersprache abgewickelt werden kann und alles andere seinen gewohnten Verlauf nimmt. Bereits 2018 starteten wir Richtung Wien, doch ein Motorschaden in der Straße von Messina zwang uns, den Überstellungstörn abzubrechen. Tropical atmosphere... Departure: 07.45 Arrival: 14.00 Distance: 27 miles Weather: Bright sunshine, 19 degrees Wind: W 16-24 knots Details: Seals seen Since we have a creep-by-creep departure from the harbour, we want to sail away with as little wind as possible. It all works out according to plan. And we course, unfortunately again, headwind and thus motor to Fur. The fjord is really beautiful. The wind feels strong and we particularly notice this when it turns out that the coffee is literally blowing out of our cups. Haha. At Løgstør, we turn for the bridge and see some seals playing. Just too far for really nice photos unfortunately. Not much later, we turn so that ‘the jib’ can be raised, and although we don't even unfurl it completely, we do 7.5 knots of speed at halfwind. The waves are a bit mean over starboard though (the downwind feeling doesn't feel comfortable), but oh well. Then we course into the beautiful bay and moor her as close as we can in the lee under the shore. It looks like a little beach paradise. Nice lunch on the Aloha deck and after some ‘banking’, the dinghy goes in the water and we head to shore to walk on the beach, look for shells, drink a beer and....the drone to fly. An hour later, we sail back, eat pasta (at least....once it was clear where the sauce had gone :-)) and enjoy the setting sun before diving into the berths around 23:00. #creep #zigzag #sailing ailing

With Half Dome as a backdrop, we’re roughing it tent camping at Lower Pines campground in Yosemite — with Jeep tailgate homemade biscuits and sausage, mimosas and a visit to the Ahwahnee Hotel for a Charcuterie Board and cocktails. It’s not all eating, as we experience the indescribable beauty of Lower and Upper Yosemite Falls, El Capitan, Half Dome, Bridalveil Falls and helicopter rescue training!

Jump on board SV CUBA as we sail the Greek Islands on our journey around the world. Today when we encounter a strange object floating in the distance. So, the hunt to grab the mysterious object is on and after a few attempts we finally reel in an impressive catch on our boathook. But we are not out to fish, so we press on, on our sail from Sifnos to Milos and seek out the abandoned mines in Milos where everything from equipment, machinery and clothing is left behind almost untouched. This place is definitely off the beaten track and we are wondering if Urbex has jet checked out this location. We anchor early in the morning to be able to leave our sailboat alone, grab some safety gear and jump into our mining dinghy. A place frozen in time with many interesting things to discover, the mines have been built more than 60 years ago and much of the original structures and processes of sulfur extraction can still be found along the rugged coast. As the winds change towards the afternoon, we decide to sail to the other side of the island to discover the extra-terrestrial looking lunar landscapes of Zarakiniko with our stand-up paddleboards. The water around this part of the island is crystal clear and the sandstone cliff coast has been shaped by the winds into all kinds of spectacular shapes attracting tourists, charterboats, and photographers from all around the words. On our journey sailing the Greek islands we did not want to miss the amazing island of Milos and we were not disappointed by the many things this gem of the Cyclades has to offer. In this video, having sailed our yacht through Orca Alley to arrive in at the rock of Gibraltar, we begin to explore this non Schengen and fascinating piece of Britain at the entrance to the Mediterranean Sea. We had intended on staying in Gibraltar for a week but weather and waiting for boat parts meant we stayed for a month so during that time we explored all that The Rock had to offer….Monkeys, huge Caves filled with stalagmites and stalactites, tunnels, canons, stupendous walks up the Rock, cable cars, glass walkways over sheer edges and more history than you can shake a soggy stick at! The rock of Gibraltar, by virtue of it’s position, is a hugely strategically important place and there are more than 25 miles of tunnels inside the rock. The first tunnels date back to the 1700s during The Great Siege when Spain and England were in conflict over the sovereignty of the Rock and were expanded in WW2. Whilst you can only visit a tiny part of the huge tunnel network it’s enough to make you realise what a Swiss cheese of rock it is! The hull to deck joint on our sailboat is very leaky so we are about to embark on the most in-depth boat project we've ever taken on. The teak cap rail has to be removed to access the hull to deck joint which will need to be thoroughly cleaned of 45 year old caulking so that we can permanently seal it with epoxy. After leaving the beautiful Newry Islands we play dodgem cars sailing our ketch through the huge field of bulk coal carriers anchored off Mackay. You never know when one is going to up anchor and move into the dock for their turn to load at the Hay Point facility. We did catch a nice Spanish Mackerel in amongst them though. The northerly wind then piped up and we had a spirited 20+ knot sail to a bay on the southern side of Curlew Island. That’s where the trouble started as we just could not get our anchor to hook in no matter what we tried. In fast fading light we had some anxious moments. In this episode, we sail to Pig Beach on Big Major Cay and feed and get chased by pigs. We find the best Laundromat in the area at Blackpoint and spend some time enjoying the beautiful water. We visit the famous Coco Plum beach where the water is crystal clear, find sand dollars, various shells and starfish. In this episode we are sailing to the Dominican Republic and encounter waterdamage, the couch flying trough the kitchen, the engine overheats so we have to sail into the harbour of Barohona and more. This was a very hard 3 days at sea.

I sail a 1000 NM passage in fairly sporty conditions from Bermuda to two small French islands off the southern coast of Newfoundland (St Pierre et Miquelon). I discuss/demo my technique for putting in a reef while headed downwind (and welcome ways to improve). As I approach Newfoundland, an aggressive front arrives at the same time, and rather than argue with mother nature, I hove to (park at sea) for 18 hours.

After 3.5 years sailing, our dream to sail up the United States of America 🇺🇸 finally becomes a reality.
