@SailingKawai This week we leave the bustling Gocek and sail to Fethiye to shelter from some strong winds that are forecast. It's a great decision as we hold well in mud with 36 knots blowing us around the bay for 2 hours. 3 Must see attractions 1. Lycian Rock Tombs - With the weather clearing we head to town to visit and explore the famous Lycian tombs which are carved into the cliffs overlooking Fethiye. The tombs are extremely large and well maintained and a must see when visiting Fethiye. 2. Kayakoy (abandoned town) - We then hike to the abandoned village of Kayakoy, the 9km hike is hilly and much tougher than expected but well worth it. This once bustling town was home to approximately 13000 people including Anatolian Muslims and Greek Orthodox Christians before a population exchange occurred in the 1920's between Greece and Turkey. It's an eerie place due to it's past and the state of the building but well worth a visit. 3. Fethiye Markets - With an empty fridge we set out early to visit the Fethiye markets. These markets are open every Tuesday and are a must if you need food or are looking to do some shopping. We found the fruit and veg to be fresh and much cheaper than Australia and fill our bags. The Turkish pancakes are famous, so we head to the sit down area and are not disappointed. Fethiye is a great place to explore with so much history. We loved our time and hope you enjoy the video. Le voyage en voilier ne se présente pas toujours comme on l'aimerait. Voici le retour d'expérience de Stéphanie, Marc et leurs enfants Ganaël (14 ans), Romane (11 ans) et Timothée (6 ans). Après avoir acheté leur catamaran de 50 pieds en décembre 2020 en pleine crise du COVID, ils ont largué les amarres depuis Barcelone en juin 2021 sans date de retour. N'ayant pas eu le temps d'éprouver leur bateau avant le départ, leur début de voyage est ralenti ce qui les empêche de traverser l'Atlantique comme ils l'avaient prévu. Jusqu'à leur arrivée aux Canaries où ils décideront finalement de ne pas aller plus loin dans leur projet. Ils nous racontent tout avec sincérité et beaucoup d'optimisme et en tirent quelques leçons pour celles et ceux qui aimeraient voyager. Malgré les difficultés, ils ne regrettent rien et cette parenthèse d'une année a été très enrichissante. It’s an easy access dive site and the depth ranges from 3 – 15 meters. The wreck is covered in soft and hard coral and many marine animals have made this their home. Just behind the wreck is probably the most colourful and healthiest reef on Amed. Big predators hang around the outskirts, attracted by the swarms of tiny fish at the wreck. There can be occasional mild to strong current. This week we sailed our Outremer 5x from Southern Italy to the small country of Montenegro! Like most places we've been to on this adventure, we found some of the kindest people there. After a few hiccups, we visited an amazing lakeside town and ate the freshest (what kind of?!?) fish! We'll be back next week with more from Montenegro! Thanks for watching!
