Ein Refit steht an. Doch Broterwerb und Verpflichtungen lassen es nicht zu, monatelang in Griechenland am Boot zu arbeiten. Da wird schon 2018 die Idee geboren Squib nach Wien zu bringen, wo man jederzeit Zugang hat, der Einkauf von Material in der Muttersprache abgewickelt werden kann und alles andere seinen gewohnten Verlauf nimmt. 2021 war es dann endlich soweit, mit zwei generalüberholten Motoren und einem neuen Geräteträger starteten wir Anfang Juli Richtung Südfrankreich.Leider hatten wir für die gesamte Reise nur zwei Monate Zeit, deswegen hieß es die meiste Zeit Strecke machen. Doch manchmal nahmen wir uns die Zeit zu verweilen, uns Orte näher anzuschauen. Hier zur Playlist dieser für ein Segelboot außergewöhnlichen Reise quer durchs Mittelmeer und über die europäischen Binnenwasserstraßen. Am vierten September kamen wir in Wien an, 980 Seemeilen und 2120 km über die europäischen Wasserstraßen lagen hinter uns. Seitdem liegt Squib in der Wiener Kuchelau, und der Refit hat bereits begonnen. Nous continuons le voyage avec mouillages au Cala Addaia ou nous faisons voler un peu le drone (nous rencontrons encore des problemes de mise à jour au moment du vol...) puis direction Illa d'en Colom et Es Grau d'où nous partirons un peu précipitemment pour echaper à un orage... refuge à Mahon après s'etre fait bien brasser en mer... Decidément cette année la météo est compliquée et nous alternons les moments calmes et des moments très peu confortables... cela permet de tester notre faculté d'adaptation... pour l'instant le moral est bon... rien de bien mechant... c'est ça la voile

De Baltimore au Dismal Swamp Canal, en passant par Annapolis et Jackson Creek. Après plusieurs jours à pourchasser les vents nous poussant vers le sud, nous prenons une journée de congée à Jackson Creek. Nous nous voguons ensuite jusqu'aux portes de l'écluse du Dismal Swamp Canal. Malo, qui a le mal de mer pendant notre navigation entre Annapolis et Deltaville, reste de bonne humeur!

This is the story of the building of a Jay Benford designed, 31.8ft, junk schooner-rigged cruising sailboat. SAILBOAT REFIT: Repairing our broken BOOM Welcome back to sailing NV, where we’re refitting and Open 60, originally designed and raced in the Vendée Globe. One of our biggest jobs was to repair our 9m carbon fibre boom. In the last video we cut the boom in 2 pieces, and made a mould of the profile so that we could start building a sleeve which will be used to glue the boom back together. In this video we carry out several laminations of the sleeve.
