#gameofthrones #dubrovnik #croatia #sailing #sailboat Sailing in Croatia is something we have been striving to do since purchasing a boat, and now finally we are heading there and looking forward to ticking Dubrovnik off the bucket list. We head up the coast from Montenegro the short distance to Cavtat (pronounced Savtat) checking in at the customs dock. Sailing in Croatia doesn’t disappoint and we are soon heading to the most famous part, Dubrovnik – Home of Game of Thrones the TV series. Once again it doesn’t disappoint, but to walk round the outer walls we are floored by the cost of 34 euro. Dubrovnik turns out to be worth it though, especially as we enjoy it with new yachty friends on Red Roo. It is amazing to walk and sit on the same steps and jetty where Game of Thrones was made, hard to believe it’s the same place. Sailing in Croatia does have its downsides, one being the Bora wind system that hits us like a ton of bricks the first night on anchor in Cavtat. Luckily the anchor holds well I 40 knots and we can breathe again. We visit anchorages at Lopud (David Beckham is here too) Saplunara, Srebreno, Pržina and Slano to name a few. Trent wanted to quickly upload this video because it has come to his attention that people are still paying for options that they don't actually need, and in some cases are impossible to even use if installing lithium electrical systems. This happened to us but we managed to mostly correct our contract before construction. Hopefully Leopard at point of sale are just ignorant of the products and installation implications, or poor communication occurs between them and owners, and this is not occurring due to up selling for larger commissions. I arrive nice and early to take advantage of a whole day's sailing and in the first of a series of videos today, we come off the mooring for the first time using the outboard. We then take a nice leisurely beat, tacking into and out of fair and foul winds until we anchor at Bala camping bay! A nice little sail, perfect for getting used to Lulu and how she handles. I must say she seems to want a bit more wind and I think she's a cheekier boat than her brand has her down as!!
