The Starcross Steamer, a pursuit race held at and organised by Starcross Yacht Club and sponsored by Ex Sails & Covers was held on Sunday 29th January. After a delayed start waiting for the wind to fill in it was an absolutely fabulous day for sailing and watching! I hope you enjoy this short video!

Ces temps-ci, le sommeil est difficile sur Le Voilier Destination. On vit des moments d’angoisse avec notre ancre qui décroche trop souvent à notre goût. Notre ancre a décroché pendant un orage et une deuxième fois par une journée bien tranquille. On a failli retrouver notre voilier échoué sur le bord de la rive. On cherche à comprendre ce qui la fait décrocher autant. On reprend nos rondes de surveillance la nuit et on se résigne à acheter une alarme d’ancrage payante. On dort sur une oreille, les yeux à demi-ouverts… et on se tanne au point de faire 10 miles nautiques en dinghy entre Martha’s Vineyard et Cap Cod pour aller en acheter une autre. Toute qu’une aventure pour aller la chercher. ____ Sleep is difficult on Le Voilier Destination these days. We live moments of anguish with our anchor which unhooks too often for our taste. Our anchor unhooked during a storm and a second time on a very calm day. We almost found our sailboat stranded on the edge of the shore. We are trying to understand what makes her drop out so much. We resume our surveillance rounds at night and resign ourselves to buying a paid anchor alarm. We sleep soundly, eyes half-open… and we get tired of going 10 nautical miles in a dinghy between Martha’s Vineyard and Cape Cod to go buy another one. What an adventure to get it. In dieser Folge bauen wir die Dieselpumpe ein. Die Einbauposition und Anschlüsse stellen uns vor eine kleine Herausforderung, aber nichts was wir nicht hinbekommen. Der Tankentnehmer und die Dieselleitung sind dagegen eine klare Sache. Nur die Auspuffisolierung will dann wieder nicht so, wie wir das wollen. Achja und dann war da ja noch der Transportschaden.
