This time we set off on a 700nm sail from St Helena to Ascension island! There are very few places to stop in the south Atlantic other than these two unique volcanic islands. After 3 weeks enjoying beautiful St Helena, we decided we HAD to check out Ascension as well even though it was slightly out of our way. The 6 day passage was that of dreams! We had absolutely perfect downwind conditions the entire way and nothing broke! Ascension is a "working" island. There are about 800 people residing on the island all of whom are either researchers or US Military. No one can just "live" on Ascension, they must be military or on a 2 year research contract. Blacktron Cruiser is a recent Lego Gift With Purchase that I had to pick up to go with the 10497 Galaxy Explorer set for that classic space them battle! Hello fam, I made a trip to Ensenada Mexico and helped sail my buddy Mark’s boat back to San Pedro, CA. It was super fun and I learned a lot. It was also awesome to do a little reconnaissance in Mexico for when I take my boat down there some day. This was an EPIC adventure for me. In this video I crew for Mark on Keeldragger from Ensenada Mexico to San Pedro, CA on his Valiant 40 sailboat. It was my longest passage to date and my first night watch. Youfor32 is an initiative created from a partnership between the Queensland Academy of Sport (QAS) and Australian Sailing. The purpose of the program is to utilise the QAS school talent search to identify potential sailors, based on projected height and weight, risk appetite, love of the water and growth mindsets. The goal is finding new sailors from different sporting backgrounds for the Sailing Performance Pathway and the upcoming Brisbane 2032 Olympic Games with a target age somewhere between 14 – 21 for foilers and female crews.

Lezioni di Vela - Vento Forte - Regolazioni Fiocco - Episodio 12 Regolare il fiocco con vento forte è il tema del dodicesimo video-episodio di Scuola di VELA, in cui scopriamo come effettuare una manovra perfetta su una barca da crociera. Regolare il fiocco con vento forte, le opzioni l fiocco è essenziale per creare la forza propulsiva di avanzamento della barca mentre si naviga in andature strette, dal traverso alla bolina larga. Il fiocco è una vela poggiera, che bilancia l'azione della randa, orziera. L'azione combinata di fiocco e randa permettono di spostare il centro velico per avere una buona tenuta di rotta. Abbiamo visto in caso di vento forte come ridurre la randa nel recente video Ridurre le vele con vento forte. Per mantenere la barca bilanciata, anche il fiocco deve essere ridotto e ci sono diverse possibilità: Smagrire il fiocco arretrando il carrello, per mantenere al massimo le prestazioni si può utilizzare anche un barber Per i fiocchi rollabili da crociera, avvolgere parzialmente il fiocco con il rollafiocco e regolare il carrello. La baie est très grande, le choix du mouillage est vaste. Nous avons choisi de jeter l'ancre un peu au nord de la marina pour être un peu plus abrité sans être en face de Gros Ilet beach. Nous changeons de pays, ce qui signifie : formalités douanières, immigration et Clearance. Ici on paie en EC $ : Eastern Caribbean dollar. La #vela è viaggio, il viaggio è scoperta e conoscenza, la conoscenza è cultura, non è importante la destinazione ma il viaggio stesso!
