With more than half of the crossing now covered we are settling into the isolation this vast expanse of water brings, that is until we are almost wiped out by fellow sailors! We also catch our first fish and swim in a very becalmed sea at a depth of 5000m! #sailingacrosstheAtlantic #atlanticsailing #sailing #caribbean https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCu_TXBvLqimTelcfKu2Dkfg?sub_confirmation=1 Like, share and comment if you enjoyed this video AUDIO ------------ Under the Creative Commons Licence Track: N3WPORT & Meggie York - Runaway[NCS Release] Music provided by NoCopyrightSounds. Join us as we sail Eleutheros from Souris, Prince Edward Island to Ingonish, Cape Breton. We had stayed in Ingonish, Cape Breton for the winter and in this episode we return to our boat in PEI. On our drive, we had the most amazing and surprising view going up over Cape Smokey. Once we had our varnish work, bottom paint and other projects done we headed out on our second sail toward Cheticamp, Cape Breton. On our first leg we encounter gusts to 30 knots, which was higher than forecasted, and the boat performs well and Mark was able to set her up to sail on her own! After anchoring (the first time ever!) in Mabou Harbour for a couple of nights, we sailed north over night(another first time) along the coast toward Ingonish. We made it to Ingonish with a few firsts under our belts, some nervousness and stunning views of the Cape Breton Highlands National Park and beautiful Cape St. Lawerence! After a few years of land-based adventure the Nikau crew are back on the water. We touch base with everyone with a catch up. Do the normal exploring, fishing and beach BBQ action. In this season we prepare to buy our new boat to start sailing full time again. We will run through how we financially prepare and fund our adventures. We also have to make the big decision, monohull or catamaran? We have 2 charters planned with catamarans, one in Australia and another in Tahiti revisiting some of our favorite cruising grounds. Come and adventure with us. Remember we are always here to help other families with their adventures and Josh and Jaz love speaking in churches and events.
Wintering on our sailboat in Montenegro, safely tucked away in a marina amongst fellow sailors, we thought we were safe from whatever Mother Nature could throw at us and then the worst storm in 20 years hit along with winds of 100 knots damaging boats and causing chaos around us. Montenegro is a country where the weather can change the landscape and climate overnight or in a few hours - where there are dry caves there can be raging rivers and within a few hours drive you can go from warm sunshine to deep snow - come with us and see some more of this spectacular country, enjoy some snowy silliness and experience the power of Mother Nature in an extreme Bura wind topping 100kts!! #lifeonaboat #liveaboardsailboat #sailboat #raymarineuk #liveaboard #sailaroundtheworld #extremeweather #storm #montenegro #snow #mountains #extremewind #100 knots #portomontenegro #blackpearl #boatlife Follow our boat on Noforeignland https://www.noforeignland.com/boat/6427841673560064

The place we are sailing to is special because it's where cinnamon buns grow. It's a place called "The Island Farm", located in Palmetto Point, Eleuthera. We sail in, drop anchor, launch the dinghy, and work up our appetites with a long hike that has a sweet reward at the end. ~ Ben, Tambi, & Molly | "SAILBOATSTORY" Don't forget to SUBSCRIBE and join us every FRIDAY for a new episode! DYI sail repair and spring commission. We run into a tangle of the Harken Fuller. It takes a couple of tries to get it right. Sailing is fun but it does take some prep work before you can enjoy a good sail. This Pearson 26 still has lots of life, knock on fiberglass…

Our 30ft Sagitta catamaran has now been in the water for a month. I have reported elsewhere about our first races, alas no videos as racing is all a bit too stressful, especially with a largely inexperienced crew. So here is a video showing the first daysails of the year. Fortunately the first day was a gentle sail, up the Tamar and then into the Lynher river. But at least we were able to check out the - not previously hoisted - masthead screecher. I was pleased to see the boat would still steer itself in light winds, just as it did 32 years ago. Our next sail was out to sea, a bit more wind, but still too chilly for comfort. So we spent much of the time sitting below with the autopilot on. A great new genoa from Highwater Sails, complete with a fancy foot to match the cabin top, and leech battens, all to maximise area. Our new mainsail should be arriving in the next few weeks, again from Highwater Sails. Heading photo shows the ex-monohull spinnaker, we will be trying a J80 asymmetric soon. More on Sagitta here, https://www.sailingcatamarans.com/index.php/designs-2/3-25ft-to-30ft-catamarans-designs/171-sagitta and lots more Sagitta videos from 30+ years ago on my youtube channel.

After 3,5 months we are finally leaving the harbor. Our boat going backwards is always surprising. So we waited till we had no wind and no current. This should be a piece of cake. She still surprised us. But we make it out save. On our way to the anchor spot we calibrate our new autopilot. Time to get our sea legs back. Hope you enjoy! Join us on an incredible sailing adventure as we embark on a 216-mile journey from Estepona, Spain to Azohia, Spain, sailing alone in the Mediterranean. In this video, we provide a glimpse into our life living aboard a boat for two nights, accompanied by our loyal four-legged companion. Get ready to witness breathtaking sunrises, mesmerizing sunsets, and even a surprise visit from playful dolphins. As we sail along the stunning south coast of Spain, we showcase the daily routines and experiences of living aboard our beloved Gib'Sea 402, a masthead sloop built in 1989. Discover how we eat, sleep, and savor the tranquil moments on the open sea. Our furry friend adds an extra touch of companionship to the journey, making it all the more memorable. During this voyage, we encountered the perfect conditions to test out our extendable whisker pole for the first time. We share insights on how this innovative tool allowed us to sail downwind at a deeper angle, optimizing our progress in light winds. It's an invaluable technique every sailor should consider for smoother and more efficient sailing. Throughout the passage, we were blessed with favorable weather and smooth sailing, without any significant challenges. Our focus was on embracing the beauty of the Mediterranean and relishing the joy of solitude on the open water. Although we didn't encounter any notable landmarks on this particular journey, nature presented us with awe-inspiring sunrises and sunsets that will take your breath away. Witness the vibrant colors painted across the sky, creating a mesmerizing backdrop for our adventure. And keep an eye out for the unforgettable moment when dolphins graced us with their presence, playfully swimming alongside our bow during sunrise. This voyage holds a special significance for us, as it marks our first overnight passage sailing alone without additional crew. We take pride in the culmination of our experience, hard work, and boat preparations. It's a testament to our dedication and love for the sailing lifestyle. Join us on this incredible journey, and immerse yourself in the beauty of sailing alone in the Mediterranean. Don't forget to like, comment, and subscribe to our channel for more sailing adventures, tips, and inspiration. Let's celebrate the freedom and serenity that comes with life on the open sea! We pack up Peanut and Nutshell for the cyclone season and leave Darwin to begin a massive road trip. We are going to drive to Perth. We will spend quite a few months there building up the cruising kitty and visiting family and friends. This episode is the beginning of our journey. We quickly check out an abandoned WWII Station Hospital. Only a few concrete slabs remain. We pull in at the Gove Hill Heritage Hotel in the hope of a cool beer, but, alas it is closed. It’s a funky place to visit and look around. We camp at Lake Argyle and try to attract the inquisitive Apostlebirds. We then make our way to El Questro and check out Saddleback Ridge and Pigeon Hole Lookouts with their tricky hill climbs! Thanks for watching. I figuratively and literally immerse myself in the paradisiacal world of the Berry Islands, though always with a weather eye, as there are few anchorages offering 360 degree shelter. But I then commit original sin--I check my bank balance--and discover that the rental car company I had used in Puerto Rico was now racking up random charges on my credit card. REUNITED! These Brothers Sailed Around The World For 10 YEARS Together! Sailing Vessel Delos Ep. 413
A huge thanks to Henson Shaving for sponsoring this video! Please visit https://hensonshaving.com/svdelos and use code “svdelos” to get 100 free blade refills right now. The Band is BACK TOGETHER! Just in case some of you are newer followers and haven't watched our earlier videos, long before little Sierra was running around the boat, and even before I laid eyes on my beautiful Swedish princess Kazza for the first time, my brother Brady was a part of the Delos story. We had a run of about 10 years living, traveling, working, drinking, and running amok together on the high seas. From crashing weddings in India, diving with sharks in the most remote corners of the ocean, equator crossing ceremonies on multiple occasions, an unspeakable amount of all nighters, and literally thousands of other memories and moments together (too many of which are not appropriate to share 😂 ) we truly shared more than most brothers could ever dream of...Brady was even the officiant at me and Kazza's wedding. But eventually the time came for our lives to keep going on their own paths. And after more than 3 years, we were finally reuniting in Mexico, and this time Brady and Blue were on their own boat with Sharki the wonder dog in tow. We only got to spend a few days together because the weather really wasn't cooperating with us, but man was it one of the most special moments ever. I'm so incredibly proud of everything we have both accomplished together and apart, and no matter how much time and distance separates us, he will always be my best friend. We sail past the sailing history as we pass the Fastnet Lighthouse and Fastnet Rock where sailings biggest tragedy took place in 1979. A project that should have taken a few hours turned into days because of one small mistake. Hopefully you’ll learn something from it, we certainly have. Thanks so much for joining us this week! If you enjoy the video give it a thumbs up, leave us a comment down below and be sure to subscribe to our channel. If you're new here, Harbors Unknown is the story of two dreamers, Kristin & Fabio Potenti, & our dog Yoda. We're a small family living aboard our catamaran, Wanderlust, sailing to Harbors Unknown. Exploring the world, connecting with people and places through the local cuisine, and showing how great food can be cooked on a boat with limited space and resources. Seeking to balance the desire to explore and travel to beautiful, remote locations while leaving no footprint, minimizing the Hawthorne effect of the observers who change the environment she or he observes. We hope to inspire people and showcase the possibility of living an alternative lifestyle that provides freedom and fulfillment, all while keeping it real. Sharing the trials and tribulations of living off-grid, acknowledging the discomfort of detoxing from the modern world, finding pleasure in the subtleties of nature and joy in simplicity. Attempting to understand what makes the world tick and tock but also trying to gain a deeper comprehension of ourselves and identify what will satisfy that hunger for further exploration, for purpose. Sailing World on Water May 19.23 Guyot/Holcim Latest, Diesel Delivery, 52s, iQFoils, Luna Rossa. PWA
Highlights of what happened globally in the sport of sailing in the last 7 days. After the GUYOT environnement – Team Europe reached Halifax harbour under jury rig and was embraced by his shore team, skipper Benjamin-Dutreux told how the emotions overwhelmed him at that moment. The arrival was earlier than expected. The boat is going to return to Europe by cargo ship. It will be next Sunday, the 18th, when it's loaded onto the cargo ship. It then departs on the 21st. This is the weekly Sailing highlights show, The World on Water for week ending, May 19, 2023. The other dismasted Imoca in The Ocean Race, Holcim PRB, arrives in Newport on May 18 as we edit this report, and it will be introduced to a new piece of kit. Its brand new Mast! That means there's only a few days to step it, and do tests of the new rig before the race starts again on Sunday, for Leg 5, the Alantic crossing. It's a double points leg and they are still leading the race on points. We wish them luck. 2023 is the 11th season of the 52 SUPER SERIES which was founded in Barcelona, May 2012 when five boats raced. The 2023 season started with 11 teams-racing including one new boat from Hong Kong who has Ian Walker from Great Britain as its Tactician. The Santa Maria Cup was held in Annapolis, hosted by the Eastport Yacht Club, which is on the Women's Match Race Tour as their second event. We have all of the action from the race course, interviews from the crews, the round robins, the semis, and finals, all wrapped up with the winner’s speech! The iQFoiL Open European Championships came to an end with the prize-giving ceremony, marking the culmination of an action-packed week in Patras, Greece. This windsurfing extravaganza, organized in collaboration with local sailing club I O.Patron and held at the scenic Porto Rio Hotel venue, will be etched in the annals of the sport's (still short) history. An encouraging day for Luna Rossa Prada Pirelli with the technicians doing a stellar job in ironing out the gremlins from the team’s new AC40 and delivering a fully functional platform on Saturday for the sailors to begin commissioning. The weather though in Cagliari was up and down with a dense rain-laden weather system filtering off the Capoterra mountains early in the session, shutting out the sunlight, and delivering gusts up to 20 knots before clearing and leaving very marginal foiling conditions of just 7-8 knots. Garda Trentino redeemed itself on the last day of the Torbole PWA World Cup Windsurfing Slalom and, despite the always very cloudy weather alternating with some rain, the wind was the protagonist, allowing racing both in the morning with a northerly wind, and in the afternoon with a southerly wind that had risen in the last heat up to 15 knots.

Our trip in Fiji's remote Lau group continues. After an epic time in Duff reef we sail the short hop south to Vanua Balavu to meet up with more of our friends before we all sail to the southern Lau. We re-visit one of our favourite places Fulaga where we hang out for a bit. The kids keep busy hunting mud crabs and spending their days in the water while the sailing Mum's keep busy paddleboarding the lagoon each day and we bring our sevusevu and 5 boxes of the newly published Fulaga book to the village and hike up to see remnants (skulls) of the last big battle between Tongans and Fijian's. For us there is no final destination - it's a lifestyle choice! Our days are usual spent kitesurfing, surfing, spearfishing or exploring! We are now 'Living the Dream' aboard our second boat, an 80ft former Whitbread race yacht which we've rescued, rebuilt and converted for 3.5 years into a comfortable and fast cruising yacht. It was a mammoth project with no outside help or funding but the end result was worth the effort and she's been our floating home since we launched her in late 2018 taking us to incredible spots around the South Pacific. As a qualified and experienced boatbuilder and seasoned sailors we share our boat projects with you along with our adventures. Support us: The biggest support you can give us is to like this video, subscribe and leave us a nice comment ;-) You can also show your appreciation and 'buy as a coffee' or if you want to make an even bigger difference and help us upgrade our equipment and gear for filming, editing and sailing aboard Camara, head to our Ko-Fi link - THANK YOU!
