The record for a mono hull sailing boat was held by the yacht Comanche. Today its been broken by not one but two IMOCAs, first Holcim PRB (with a new mast in it) and then Team Malizia skippered by Boris Herrmann. Amazing! Generalmente queste costruzioni a "nidi d'ape" erano realizzate sulle cime di colline o sulle mnontagne, così da poter essere difese meglio. A Ksar Jooumaa, un gruppo di giovani coraggiosi, perché ci vuole coraggio, hanno riadattato uno ksar e ne hanno fatto un albergo-ristorante. Alle periferia di Medenine, capitale del Governatorato che comprende anche Djerba, c'è lo ksar Metameur: una vera e propria città costruita nel XIV secolo e oggi disabitata

We find ourselves trapped in Panama City for 24 hours while we try and sort out the problems with Brioni's visa. When we get back to Indioko, we have a bit of a delay until our measuring appointment and then the advisors from the Panama Canal ask us to move into the marina before we can be granted access to the Canal. Das ist wohl die einzige Möglichkeit in den Jemen zu segeln. Socotra... Die Insel am Horn von Afrika hat uns mit offenen Armen empfangen. Jetzt im Jahr 2023 ist es wieder möglich hier unbeschwert anzureisen. Wir haben uns seit Monaten auf diese Destination gefreut und sind gespannt was die nächsten Tage bringen. Die Etappe über den Indischen Ozean war entspannt und ohne große Probleme. Es waren aber ja auch "nur" 1200 Seemeilen. Das Segel Abenteuer auf unserem Kanal!
