A sad day. Season 2 is over and it all feels so quick this year. So, with Mochyn Du already safely at home for the winter, I go back to Lake Bala to pick up Lulu. I take everything out of her and then make the silly decision to take her out in almost 40MPH winds!! I turn back quickly, get her back on her trailer and we go to the boat yard where her home will be for the winter. Hang around to the end as there's a nice montage pf the season to end the season off. I'll keep the videos coming over the winter as we have a lot of boat projects to do to get Lulu ready for next season. So konnten einige Yachten mit Spinaker oder Genaker segeln, während es für andere mit Fock oder Genua gehen musste. 3 Startgruppen gingen ab 11:30 Uhr in Warnemünde auf die Reise. Das Ziel lag vor der Seebrücke in Kühlungsborn und es folgte noch ein gemütlicher Nachmittag im Yachthafen mit Siegerehrung und Tanzmusik. #vela #pacifico #fiji BULA amici! Ottavo episodio della stagione! Perdonate il ritardo, ma ci siamo spostati a nord e la connessione internet era pessima! Eccoci a voi, questa volta siamo in rada, alla boa, davanti all'isola di Malolo, arcipelago delle Mamanuca. Questa baia prende il nome dal principare resort dell'isola, cioè Musket Cove. Sull'isola in realtà ci sono diversi resort, ma il posto è molto piacevole, riparatissimo per le barche e offre molti servizi a terra: un piccolo market, un centro immersioni, smaltimento della spazzatura, servizio di lavanderia, bar e ristoranti che ben accolgono la folta comunità di navigatori in sosta. Ci riforniamo di frutta e verdura fresche contattando i fantastici ragazzi di FARMBOY, organizzatissimi nel preparare e spedire la tua spesa del fresco in tutte le Mamanuca e le Yasawa tramite il ferry che collega tutte le isole di questi arcipelaghi. Facciamo la spesa a terra, ci facciamo qualche nuotatina vicino alle barriera corallina. E poi aspettiamo che la meteo si stabilizzi: purtroppo i fronti si susseguono senza sosta dandoci solamente un paio di giorni di bel tempo fra l'uno e l'altro. Poi pioggia e temporali. E' l'inizio dell'autunno qui, la stagione "buona" deve ancora stabilizzarsi. Facciamo il tagliando al generatore mentre fuori c'è il diluvio. It's time for the second half of the trip to Frankton Locks! A sunny bank holiday weekend meant everyone and their boats were out on the waterways. Lots of boats, lots of close calls, and lots of getting stuck on the bottom. Couple that with a cocked up winding and I was keen to call it a day! Sufficit to say, the evening's rum was well deserved! Editors warning! Apologies for some very glitchy footage, it was taken on my brothers' phone and my editing software just couldnt cope with the resolution! But I thought I'd best include it rather than not, so I'm sorry for any issues.

I sail from Iceland's west coast (Isafjordur) to Siglufjordur, Husavik and Raufarhofn on Iceland's rugged North Coast. The challenge of sailing the fjords, with their constantly changing winds is met, and the reward is numerous sightings of whales. (I realize the order of port visits is out of correct order in the video. The video was too long, so I deleted parts, and that impacted the storyline.) Also, sorry I did not get better shots of the whales. My GoPro camera zoom feature is very 'limited'. Next top: Norway

We tried to fix and prepare as much as possible before our longest sail ever before we finally could check out of Panama. On a boat, it's always something and of course, we had some last-minute things before we could say we were ready. The Everglades challenge is a 300-mile unsupported, expedition style race for kayaks, canoes, and small boats. You must propel your craft by either man power or wind, and you must be able to push your boat off the beach yourself, all of these things making it one of the most difficult small boat races in the country. Turn the heat to medium and allow the garlic to infuse. * Once the garlic is bubbling (roughly 3.5 minutes), add capers and chilli, and simmer for a few minutes. * Check if the pasta is nearly done, about 80% cooked. If so, proceed to the next step, if not take the fry pan off the heat and wait until the pasta is further cooked. * Add the wine, tomato paste, cherry tomatoes, salt and pepper. Stir until thickened. (If the sauce appears to be thin, then add more tomato paste.) * Turn the heat up to medium high, and add the seafood into the fry pan. Cook for roughly 30 seconds. * Add the pasta straight from the pot and into the fry pan.
