We start the day soaking up French Caribbean vibes at Grand Case, spending the afternoon at the iconic Rainbow Café. From there, we set sail for a short hop over to Anse Marcel, grabbing a marina slip and enjoying a relaxed night onboard. The next morning delivers one of those perfect sailing days as we make our way to St. Barts — one of the most exclusive, luxurious, and expensive islands in the Caribbean. Once ashore, it’s lunch and beach time at the legendary Nikki Beach, where the energy starts to turn up fast. Sun, sand, champagne… and as the day fades into night, things definitely start to heat up. This is Caribbean sailing at its finest — beautiful destinations, great sailing, and unforgettable nights. Navigation Rules (COLREGs) are the most important thing to know when you’re operating a powerboat. You can’t just “give way to everyone”—that creates unsafe situations because you’re no longer behaving in the way other operators expect. In this quick intro, we explain what you’ll learn in NauticEd’s FREE Navigation Rules for Powerboats course: how to identify the give-way boat vs stand-on boat, why “right-of-way” is the wrong framing, and the legal reality that even the stand-on vessel must act to avoid collision. The course uses 3D animated scenarios (crossing, overtaking, and more) so you can actually see and feel each situation. ✅ Take the FREE Navigation Rules for Powerboats course here: https://www.nauticed.org/powerboating-courses/view/navigation-rules-for-powerboats?utm_source=youtube&utm_medium=video&utm_campaign=x2Y3e_RpUaQ #powerboat #boat #boating #powerboating

Part 153 of a series: Sailing Tampa Bay to Key West. Sailing Charlotte Harbor, toward a secret location, mistakes are made. An accidental jibe, along with not filling the ballast tank are two missteps highlighted. We reminisce about our successful sailing journey from Miami to Key West.
When looks, speed, comfort and coolness combine. This is a boat that's ideal for the operator that is very clear on his or her mission. If you are a day boater with clear needs that include any of the above, then this is a design that may meet those needs for you. THANKS TO OUR SPONSORS Mention Code DBL for discounts on Marine Mold Construction - https://ms-marine.eu/ This is a high-performance luxury day boat with very limited direct competition. Many alternatives are either stripped-back performance boats with little comfort, or heavier luxury cruisers that aren’t designed to be driven hard underway. In this video, we break down key sailing techniques for the Ideal 18, focusing on both upwind performance and downwind sailing with the spinnaker. Small adjustments make a big difference on this boat, and we’ll show you exactly where to focus. 🔹 Downwind with Spinnaker Learn how to set up and fine-tune the spinnaker for maximum speed and control, including: • Spinnaker pole height – how high is too high, and how low slows you down • Heel angle – finding the sweet spot between power and control • Boom position – keeping the main working with the spinnaker, not against it • Sheeting angles – trimming for pressure, stability, and VMG 🔹 Upwind Trim & Technique We also cover upwind fundamentals specific to the Ideal 18, including: • Proper heel angle for groove and pointing • Boom position and mainsheet trim to balance power and height • How small changes in sheeting angle affect speed through the water Whether you’re racing, coaching, or just trying to make the boat easier to sail, these techniques will help you sail the Ideal 18 faster, smoother, and with more confidence. 📌 Who this video is for: • Ideal 18 sailors • One-design racers • Sailing instructors and coaches • Anyone looking to refine trim and boat handling fundamentals 👉 Don’t forget to like, subscribe, and check out our other sailing technique videos for more deep dives into boat speed and race performance.

Thomas Coville and his time on Sodebo Ultim 3 have just 1,100 nautical miles to go to finish their Jules Verne Trophy record attempt, but Storm Ingrid is standing in their way, with 55 knot winds and waves up to 38 feet high. We take a look at the team on board, the wind picture, their routing options, and the waves they are likely to face as they reach from the Azores to Map of Cape Finisterre, then across the notorious Bay of Biscay towards the finish line between Ushant and the Lizard Point. As a reminder, to set a new record they must finish before 8.31pm (French time) on Sunday 25th January. Meanwhile, the problems continued for the all-female team on The Famous Project CIC when their mainsail split in half. The two teams are now remarkably close to each other to the east of the Azores. *Track the boats* Sodebo Ultim 3 - https://sodebo-ultim3.sodebo.com/ The Famous Project CIC - https://trimaran-idec.geovoile.com/julesverne/2025/viewer/ Thumbnail photo (c) Jérémie Lecaudey #stormimogen #ultim #julesverne #sailing

🎼 Musiques : Futile - The Grey Room _ Golden Palms Resolution Or Reflection - The Grey Room _ Clark Sims

We set off on our first real ocean passage, sailing our newly bought catamaran which we purchased sight unseen from Tahiti in French Polynesia and sail to Samoa. We put in our blood sweat and tears getting her fixed up and ready for this adventure. This documentary‑style episode follows the full offshore journey — the long days, the night watches, the weather swings, and the moment it finally hits us that we’re crossing an ocean for the very first time.
