Here are a few situations where focusing on or changing your breathing may not help during a trauma response: - Panic Attacks* 😰: Breathing heavily can lead to hyperventilation, reducing carbon dioxide levels in your body. Kaikōura Island is the seventh largest island in the Hauraki Gulf and in the early 2000's was purchased from private ownership to become a public reserve managed by a Trust. Since then, extensive eradication of pests has been undertaken and natural regeneration of native forest is occurring. We thoroughly enjoyed our walk up to the airfield on Kaikōura Island.
