Getting on hands and knees, climbing the pole, poetry, CQR anchor, fish chasing dolphin, and dancing. It’s time for sprucing up Isabella. All hands on deck as Karen gets on her hands and knees to wash the deck clean. The wind generator pole is made of 316 stainless steel and still managed to attract a bit of rust. Rubbing and polishing the pole reminded us of the poem, Sail Away With Me by Laney Mills and we share a few stanzas with y’all. Steve climbs the pole to reach the last hard spots as Karen enjoys watching from behind. Isabella has two anchors, a 121 pound Rocna and a 66 pound CQR. We use the Rocna as the main anchor. The CQR has a few rusty spots. Rather than re-galvanizing it, Steve treated the rust, getting it ready to be painted. A surprise appearance of a dolphin was seen chasing a fish. This catamaran has been designed to satisfy both owners and charterers with layouts incorporating 3 to 6 cabins. The 52 retains the watertight forward door introduced in 2010 but features a fully open saloon and aft cockpit. Efforts have been made to optimize performance with a 17% increase in sail area compared to the 50 and a slightly lower weight (around 183 lbs/83 kg less). In terms of price, it’s a bit the opposite: €30,000 more compared to the price of the Leopard 50 at the end of 2024 – but then you do gain two feet! It will feature the Forever Green label in our upcoming Buyer’s Guide, as owners will benefit from integrated solar panels (1,600 Wp) on each boat, a lithium battery bank, and the Joool electric propulsion system already available on the Leopard 46. Petits airs et grand soleil ont dominé cette première journée de la 27ème édition des Voiles de Saint-Tropez, ce qui a permis à la direction de course de la Société Nautique de Saint-Tropez, bien inspirée, d’enchaîner les cinq départs des Modernes en trente minutes chrono ! La brise un peu plus soutenue du côté de Pampelonne assurait un joli spectacle chez les Maxis 1 et Maxis GP qui ont pu disputer un parcours construit alors que les autres classes partaient sur un parcours côtier en direction de Cavalaire. Demain, c’est le grand jour pour les voiliers de Tradition qui se dégourdissaient les voiles dans le golfe pour le plus grand plaisir des spectateurs.
