Start your day at Cooper Island, sail to one of the most iconic spots in the entire Caribbean, and wrap things up with a night you won’t forget. This was one of those PERFECT days in the BVI. We left Cooper Island early and made the short sail over to The Baths on Virgin Gorda, easily one of the most beautiful places on Earth. Crystal-clear aqua water, massive granite boulders, and the famous boulder-hike trail made for an incredible morning. The ladies rocked their tiny bikinis and we explored the caves, tunnels, and pools for a couple of hours. From there, we hoisted the sails and cruised north to Gorda Sound, stopping at the legendary Bitter End Yacht Club for lunch. After soaking up the views, we wrapped the day with dinner at Saba Rock, one of the coolest little island resorts in the BVI. After a very quick stop at the farm, we pack everything into the Land Cruiser and begin to make our way to Darwin to check on Nutshell. After checking in on SV Nutshell and making sure she's tickety-boo we do a quick turnaround and head south to Broome to start our tour guiding season in Kimberley. On the way we visit out the Durack Homestead, a historical cattle baron building which was relocated when the Ord River Dam Project flooded the land. We travel along the Ord River on a fast boat. First morning waking up on the water aboard our steel schooner, the Alaskan Gypsy — tied up in Wrangell’s Heritage Harbor after launch. We decided to stretch our legs, walk the docks, and bring you along on a casual harbor tour for our YouTube fam. No script. No plan. Just gulls singing, boats of every flavor (commercial fishing vessels, gillnetters, sailboats, liveaboards, working craft), some boat-for-sale gems, and a few rain squalls in true Southeast Alaska fashion. Somewhere along the way, we met kind strangers turned friends. Tim and Donna are kind souls with an incredibly unique unstayed, freestanding carbon-fiber-masted schooner (a Freedom-style rig you rarely see, especially in small Alaska harbors). One of those unexpected “harbor magic” moments was connecting with them and hearing stories of the sea! Soon after we left them, we met up with another friend who has a pretty amazing float house, used as a hunting platform! One of the charms of small, Alaska towns. We were lucky enough to tour the Regal factory and see the advancements they continue to make to elevate themselves to #1 in the 33’-50’ category. This factory walk-through gives a sneak peak at the impressive end-to-end process at what goes into bringing a boat together.

The first two races of the 2025-26 NSW 18ft skiff Championship were conducted by the Australian 18 Footers League in very light Easterly breeze of no more than 9-10knots at any time on Sydney Harbour today and resulted with the Balmain team of Henry Larkings, Charlie Wyatt and Laschlan Pryor taking the overall honours to hold the championship lead after the first day’s racing. In Race 1, Balmain continued last week’s winning form when the team defeated Smeg (Ash Rooklyn, Niall Morrow and Finn Rodowicz) by 37s, with Yandoo (Micah Lane, Fang Warren and Josh Feldmann) a further 39s back in third place. Sixt (Jacob Marks) finished fourth, ahead of The Oak Double Bay-4 Pines (Hugo Stoner) and Rag & Famish Hotel (Seve Jarvin). In Race 2, Club Marine (Emma Rankin, Aron Everett and Brandon Buyink) gave a brilliant display in the testing, extremely light conditions to defeat a fast-finishing Rag & Famish Hotel (Seve Jarvin, Ryan Ewings and Max Nearn) by 17s, with Race 1 winner Balmain another 10s back in third place. Yandoo came home in fourth place ahead of Sotherby’s Ballard Property (Bec Hancock) and Shaw and Partners Financial Services (Keagan York). Emma Rankin’s victory became the second female skipper to win a championship race in the 18s, and the first to win a race in the NSW Championship.
