Jeanneau Yachts 57 'Mojito' is now for sale exclusively with YOTI in Manly, Queensland, Australia. https://www.yoti.com.au/listing/jeanneau-yachts-57-mojito A proven offshore cruiser that blends performance, comfort, and ease of handling, the Jeanneau Yachts 57 is one of Jeanneau’s most successful large cruising designs. Designed by Philippe Briand, she delivers impressive sailing performance alongside a practical, well-resolved layout, equally suited to passage making and extended live-aboard cruising. 'Mojito' (2015) is a well-maintained and extensively upgraded example, with major systems renewed in recent years. Highlights include a new engine and generator package, updated rigging, a full Raymarine navigation suite, and Starlink connectivity—making her a highly capable, turn-key cruising yacht. The highly desirable three-cabin owner’s layout features a full-beam aft master suite with private ensuite and seating area, complemented by two forward double cabins, each with its own bathroom. The saloon is bright and welcoming, with a large convertible settee, a spacious and well-appointed galley, and excellent storage throughout. The overall layout strikes a smart balance between comfort at anchor and practicality at sea. On deck, the twin-helm cockpit provides excellent visibility and control, with all sail handling led aft for safe and efficient short-handed sailing. Her cutter rig, in-mast furling mainsail, and electric winches are key features that make the Jeanneau 57 such a manageable yacht in this size range. 'Mojito' has benefited from a comprehensive upgrade program focused on reliability, comfort, and ease of use, including: Mechanical & Power: New Yanmar 150hp engine (2022), Onan 11kW generator (2022) Electronics & Navigation: Full Raymarine suite (2022), including Axiom XL 16”, AIS and autopilot; Starlink (2024) Rig & Sails: Standing and running rigging replaced (2025), near-new genoa (2023), new furlers (2023), and updated mainsail furling system Systems & Comfort: Watermaker serviced with new membrane (2025), induction cooktop and oven (2024), new house and start batteries (2024) with monitoring system Handling & Deck Gear: Bow thruster (2022), upgraded ground tackle (2024), tender and davits (2023) Hull & Presentation: Hull professionally painted (2023) She is exceptionally well-equipped for comfortable cruising, with multi-zone air conditioning, generous refrigeration, a watermaker, a generator, and a well-configured electrical system. A tankage of approximately 620L of water and 720L of fuel supports extended cruising with minimal reliance on marinas. A well-sorted and thoughtfully upgraded example of this respected model, she is ready to step aboard and cruise immediately.

Today started a bit anxious. After what happened with the spinnaker pole last night, I woke up with that feeling of needing to double-check everything. I went through it again this morning, inspected it more carefully, and that helped calm me down a bit. But at the same time, it definitely switched something on in my head. A reminder to stay sharp. Last night I also heard something fall onto the boat, which didn’t help. In the dark it always feels worse. This morning I found a U-bolt and immediately thought, “where is this coming from?” Luckily, it turned out to be from the spinnaker halyard. It had just come loose and dropped. No real issue, but in the moment it felt like it could have been something more serious. And I think that’s the point. Out here, you can’t get too comfortable. Even if I’m starting to feel more at ease, more in rhythm, it doesn’t mean things won’t happen. The boat still needs attention. Constantly. So today felt like a good reminder. Stay alert. Stay on top of things. Don’t assume everything is fine just because it has been. Yes, the spinnaker pole is broken, and that’s going to cost me a bit. But at the same time, this is exactly why I’m out here. To test the boat. To find the weak points. To learn what works and what doesn’t. To break things, and then understand how to fix them. Every problem is a lesson. And today was one of those days where that became very clear again. 🌊 coordinates: 13 52.588N 55 40.343W log: 3477,9 nm distance to go: 522,1 nm ⚓ Life on the Showgirl is my journey toward one of the toughest solo sailing races on the planet: the Golden Globe Race — sailed solo, non-stop, and without modern technology. After negotiating some terrifying currents while entering Nantucket Sound, I am treated with some fine sailing days on Buzzards Bay. Link: https://balancecatamarans.com/design-for-safety/ The episode discusses key safety priorities in catamaran design, emphasizing the need to balance comfort, livability, and performance with strength and engineering details. It highlights ergonomics and visibility as critical, noting that collisions are the top global cause of marine accidents and often result from poor sightlines, so Balance focuses on visibility to all four corners and the horizon. The conversation explains safety-driven choices like a single helm station for efficient reefing, tacking, jibing, and line management; safer movement via minimal trip hazards, tall stanchions with three lines, and ample handholds; reduced deck clutter such as avoiding hatches in walking areas; and clear side-deck passageways. Additional features include emergency tiller systems, an A-frame mainsheet for safer boom control versus travelers, and keeping the boom low for easier sail handling, aided by adjustable biminis and serviceable system access planned from the start. 00:00 Safety Design Overview 00:33 Balancing Comfort Performance 01:08 Ergonomics and Helm Layout 01:31 Visibility and Sightlines 02:09 Single Helm Sail Handling 02:42 Safe Deck Movement 04:11 Rigging and Emergency Systems 04:57 Boom Height and Bimini Access 05:59 Maintenance Access by Design Link: https://balancecatamarans.com/design-for-safety/ Catamaran Conversations with Patrick Shaughnessy: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL_ZKlaZSmtsRpY6CxjveL9BKi5k3mQwkx

Tour the interior of the Korvet 50 Aluminum Trawler. Unlike fiberglass construction, aluminum hulls don't rely on prefabricated interior modules. The hull and deck are fully welded together to create the strongest possible structure and it is only afterwards that the interior furnishings are installed. Rather than being a limitation, this approach allows each owner to create a truly bespoke vessel. Furniture and cabinetry are shaped precisely to the hull, eliminating gaps and maximizing both space and integration. 0:00 - Introduction 1:24 - Helm 2:15 - Upper Salon 5:09 - Galley 5:42 - Lower Salon 7:06 - Primary Suite Learn more about Korvet Trawlers: https://korvettrawlers.com/ Built by Deep Water Yachts: https://www.deepwateryachts.com/ #trawlerlife #aluminumboat #trawler #selene #nordhavn #aluminumyachts #trawlerfest #gonewiththewynns

Starting window frames. Countdown 92 of 100 days to Boat Launch Challenge #BoatRefit #DIY #Challenge
A big start on the interior window frames. Worked on the two for the forecabin and preparation for others. This should stop the gel coat crazing by adding stiffness. Plus it edges and supports the insulation. We are now living aboard our Rival 38 Centre Cockpit full-time while finishing a refit so we can launch ASAP. When we bought Vida in August 2019 she was in a very tired and damp condition with all original equipment and fittings (much of it not working). A brand-new catamaran builder is challenging the status quo with a design that looks more like a spaceship than a sailing yacht. In this video, we travel to a factory near Cape Town in South Africa to see the very first hull of the radical new Onyx 10.5 catamaran. Built by a team determined to rethink what a small cruising catamaran can be, this bold design pushes boundaries both inside and out. We meet the founders to hear the story behind the project and learn how they set out to break away from the conventions of established sailing yacht boat builders. From the striking exterior design to an interior that feels more like a stylish Italian café than a traditional cruising catamaran, the Onyx is clearly doing things differently. But it’s not just about looks. The boat is packed with unusual ideas and clever engineering, including a single hydraulic engine system, hydraulic shock absorbers built into the hulls to reduce slamming, trampolines you can actually jump on and carbon-fibre chin-up bars for keeping fit at anchor. Is this the future of entry-level cruising catamarans or have they missed the mark? Let us know what you think in the comments. Want to learn more? Speak to the Onyx team directly and tell them Rúna sent you 😁 Website: www.onyxmarine.co.za Email: sales@onyxmarine.co.za ____________________________________________________________________________________________ 00:00 - 01:44 Introduction 01:44 - 03:27 Who Are Onyx Marine? 03:27 - 04:49 How Long Does it Take to Design a Boat? 04:49 - 05:55 Overview of The Unique Design 05:55 - 10:36 Unique Features of This Yacht 10:36 - 15:30 Production Boat and 3D Render Tour 15:30 - 19:22 How They Designed This Yacht 19:22 - 19:58 Conclusion ____________________________________________________________________________________________ Hey! "Nothing Compares 2 U" adaptée spontanément lors de l'enregistrement en "Rien n'est comparable à toi" par Pyves, au chant.
Taking down the spinnaker solo… something that felt way bigger in my head than it actually is. Turns out it’s just: Turn slightly downwind so the main blankets it Let the sheet go and let it flap Hoist the staysail to take some pressure off Open the hatch Stuff everything down and deal with it later Done. I don’t know why I was so scared of this one… but I guess that’s the thing with sailing alone, you build it up until you just have to go and do it. And then it’s fine. ⚓ Life on the Showgirl is my journey toward one of the toughest solo sailing races on the planet: the Golden Globe Race — sailed solo, non-stop, and without modern technology. Follow along as I learn, prepare, and chase a dream that feels bigger than me. ------------------------------------------ New videos EVERY 7th of the month ------------------------------------------ EXCLUSIVE CONTENT!!: https://www.patreon.com/classicmara ------------------------------------------ Follow Mara: https://www.instagram.com/classicmara_/ __________________________ Support me: PayPal: https://www.paypal.me/helgamarielk Vipps: 39088 - Classic Mara Venmo: https://account.venmo.com/u/griedy1 GoFundMe: https://gofund.me/173a9a5e6 __________________________ Affiliate links: Dakota Lithium Batteries: https://www.awin1.com/cread.php?awinmid=79634&awinaffid=2732466&ued=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.dakotalithium.com Orca Navigation System: https://getorca.com/?via=classicmara PitViper: https://www.pitviper.com/discount/CLASSICMARA?redirect=%2F&utm_campaign=money%2Bcounters&utm_medium=affiliate&utm_source=upfluence

Having spent the day shoreside on Wednesday with the Hauraki Gulf being described as ‘mirror calm’ by the recon team, Thursday was a chance for Emirates Team New Zealand to get out and explore set-up, controls, cant angles and the inter-play with the double-skin mainsail at the very bottom end of the wind-range. How do you decide whether to traverse a section of the ICW with 20 bridges or to take what may LOOK like a great window offshore? But if had gone offshore I may not have had a reunion with "Shanghai Lily."
In this episode of Sailing Safar I depart Craobh Marina on Friday the 13th, setting off solo for Northern Ireland. The route takes Safar south down the Sound of Jura before crossing the North Channel. The passage quickly turns into what feels like “Squall Alley”, with dark clouds, heavy rain and sudden gusts sweeping through the sound. Safar finds her stride as is rewarded with some truly beautiful sailing weather the following day If you'd like to support the channel and help keep Safar sailing you can do so here: Safar's PayPal link: https://www.paypal.com/donate/?hosted_button_id=APS445AXPAAXW Follow Safar on Instagram @ Sailingsafar Thanks for watching and fair winds, Morgan
