Eight years after BOJAR's launch, skilful sailor and yacht designer Johan Anker drew the lines for the Dragon One Design. Johan Anker was considered an artist in yacht design - greatly concerned with the beauty of lines and BOJAR doesn’t disappoint. Indeed as a boat of such breathtaking and effortless beauty, a classic gem; she genuinely lifts the human spirit and perhaps even defines the term “classic yacht.” With her keel weight and displacement balanced at approximately 50 / 50 she is an extremely effective sailing boat. Perhaps no surprise then she was the winner of a 'Je ne sais quois’ at the 2012 Panerai Regatta at Cowes; third in class in the Round the Island race and more recently impressive results at the RYS Bicentenary Regatta. This week we take a brief sabbatical from sailing and adventure into the rainforest of Guadeloupe. We spent 2 days hiking a 35km portion of the GRG1 trail (La trace des Alizés) up the side of La Soufrière (the Volcano) and back down to sea level. The hike was incredibly challenging but the scenery was well worth it. The pain in our legs will pass, but sleeping in the clouds and the smell of volcanic steam are two things we'll never forget. NOW SOLD Happy Days is a great little version of the ever popular Hunter Yachts now for sale with YOTI. http://www.yoti.com.au/listing/hunter-336-happy-days Designed with comfort and space in mind, she is easily sailed by one or two people and has been impeccably well maintained by her previous owners. She has a Yanmar 27hp diesel engine on a sail drive with 3-blade fixed propeller and comes complete with full engine service history. Happy Days has a fully battened main and furling genoa (both original) and she has a new boom cover with lazy jacks. Her halyards and control lines lead aft to the cockpit to two sets of ST 30 Arco cabin top winches and a further two ST 30 Lewmar winches in the cockpit. To make life easier, she is also fitted with a Raymarine autopilot and remote controlled anchor winch with chain counter in the cockpit. A popular feature of the Hunter is the sugar scoop stern which opens the cockpit to a boarding platform and transom ladder, making access to and from the water very easy with a hot and cold pressure shower to rinse off after your swim. She has a wonderful and spacious cockpit for entertaining seating 6 – 8 people comfortably around the cockpit table, with outdoor cushions and additional stern seats. Her lines are neatly stowed in a line locker at the entrance to the companionway and she even comes with a stainless steel barbecue. Below decks this yacht really surprises with a spacious and stylish décor. To complement a really beautiful timber finish the yacht is lit with classic styled brass led lamps and an ambient paraffin lamp. Her Queen-sized master cabin (aft) comes with fitted sheets, fitted fans and lovely natural light flows through the port light. Happy Days has a second cabin which can be completely enclosed or left open depending on your preference and she also has a retractable dinette table which becomes a third berth when required. Happy Days’ galley to port is well proportioned with a 2-burner gas stove, large top opening 50Ltr fridge, double sinks, separate garbage compartment and even a microwave. A very spacious head with electric toilet, storage cabinets and shower cubicle lie to starboard aft of the well-appointed nav station. Happy Day’s electronics package comprises a Garmin GPS at the nav station, VHF radio, Raymarine autopilot and Raymarine instrumentation mounted at the cockpit console. This is accompanied by a cockpit controlled anchor winch and chain counter. Batteries are stored in a cockpit locker and kept topped up with a small solar panel. She also comes with a 240v inverter. Happy Days is the perfect harbour cruising yacht and is literally ready to go for summer, complete with near new inflatable dinghy. She would be well suited to a young family or a couple that are keen to enjoy harbour sailing or coastal cruising in a comfortable sea kindly yacht to enjoy with friends and family. Hi guys, here you see me a day single hand sailing and filling up the Diesel and water tanks. Always very important when single hand sailing to clean up the boat in and outside and put all the stuff you might need ready like ropes, bouys, tools and whatever you might need. Think before you leave what you wanna do, i go to the harbor first so i'll put the boys out and arrange the ropes so i can throw them or jump off having them. I go sailing so I get most elastic bands that hold the sail together off so I can raise the sail emediatly. I attache the autopilot beforehand
