** NOW SOLD ** “Black Sheep” is a 2008 Beneteau First 45 exclusively listed with YOTI and lying in Sydney Harbour. http://www.yoti.com.au/listing/beneteau-first-45-black-sheep Black Sheep is a great example of a very well-prepared race version of the Beneteau First 45. If you can think of an upgrade, then it’s probably been done. Built in 2008 and race prepared for IRC, she has had full IRC race fairing, preparation and optimisation. On her first outing, she won the IRC Race division Hamilton Island Race Week, beating the fleet of highly competitive IRC yachts and proving the IRC pedigree of this yacht. Her upgraded alloy race rig, triple spreader with rod rigging and PBO back stay has been maintained and checked from new by Sydney Rigging Specialists. Of late she has been fitted with a composite prodder for easy downwind sailing and fast simple reaching under her Code 0. “Black Sheep” has been constantly optimised for the IRC rule and successfully sailed to this rating in many of the longer Bluewater CYCA races. She represents the perfect opportunity to purchase a highly competitive, safe and capable racer cruiser with the ability to win trophies under the IRC rule. Some of her more notable results are as follows – 2017 Sydney to Southport Race - IRC 5th Overall/ IRC 3rd Div 3 2016 Sydney to Hobart - IRC 2nd Div 3/ ORCi 2nd Div 3 2015 Sydney to Hobart - IRC 3rd Div 3/ ORCi 2nd Div 3 2015 Sydney to Southport Race - IRC 5th Overall/ 1st Div 2 2014 Sydney to Southport Race - IRC 3rd Div 3/ ORCi 3rd Div 2 2016 CYCA Blue Water Point score - IRC 5th Overall/ 2nd Div 2/ ORCi 2nd Div 2 Please contact YOTI Sydney for more information or to organise an inspection.

These sculptures are by the artist Anthony Gormley and are on Crosby beach, north of Liverpool at the tip of the Mersey estuary and facing the Irish Sea. According to Gormley, the purpose was to explore man's relationship with nature and the beach, with the ebb and flow of tides, was a good place to explore this. Our impression was that each was alone, utterly alone and facing the ravages of time and tide in a losing battle as the sea claims them. We felt guilty leaving them there at the end of the day. The installation consists of 100 iron statues each 1.89m high (6ft2) and weighs 650kg (1,400lbs) and can be found here https://www.google.co.uk/maps/@53.4760553,-3.045617,14z ----- Music ----- Modern - Nicolai Heidlas https://soundcloud.com/nicolai-heidlas Slow Motion - BenSound http://www.bensound.com
The 4th race in the series and it doesn't all go to plan This is one of those films that we think... we really shouldn't show every one... but here goes. As it happens it was a lovely day for a sail, and Ian eventually finish second on handicap so it was a great race as well, but it didnt start off that way! Music from http://www.purple-planet.com/
Leaving the boat unattended was not easy especially when you've put all you got in her but following my heart was what got me here and that is what pulled me away. If she held her ground and I was able to earn enough money to make repairs and continue surviving then onward we go! https://www.patreon.com/bumsonaboat https://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/the-beau-king-podcast/id1257293306?mt=2
George Ottoni takes you on a tour of the Lagoon 420 "Shrek".
Every few years, one of "those" boats comes onto the market. One that has been extensively fitted out and maintained by an experienced mariner for all-ocean cruising. One that could easily be mistaken for a nearly-new boat. One that has so much new and recent equipment that virtually nothing aboard is older than 4 years old. One that leaves me at a loss for words when I first come on board. One that will likely sell to one of the first 3 people to see her. Knowledgeable buyers will recognize that "Antoinette" represents a tremendous value. There are other yachts on the market that have a substantial amount of new equipment. But "Antoinette" has been almost completely remade. And whatever was not replaced was rebuilt to be like new again. "Antoinette" is for sale by her original owners, a couple who both hold a 1600 ton All Oceans Merchant Marine Officer license. In about 2012, they began to prepare her for a long- distance, multi-year cruise. With the exception of the hull, deck and mast, virtually everything was replaced: all wiring and plumbing, tanks, the engine, the generator, all electronics, rigging, sails, canvas, interior cushions, refrigeration, air conditioning, etc. I should say that a few things remain from the original, such as the signature FD-12 wheel, the polished stainless steel sinks, and the original "Delft-blue" tile galley countertops. The FD-12 was designed by Eva Hollman (formally of Sparkman & Stephens) and built in Taiwan by William Eickholt. These high-quality cruising yachts were very heavily built with oversized fittings, the way they used to build them. "Antoinette" was built by Tayana at their yard. Only about 24 FD - 12's were built and they are well known in bluewater cruising circles. Hull and Topsides repainted with Awlgrip Teak Decks removed, deck repainted with Awlgrip and non-skid New 75hp Yanmar engine (under 20 hours) New Phasor 7kW generator (under 20 hours) All new electronics - primarily Raytheon All new wiring All new plumbing New state of the art electrical panel All windows in hull replaced All glass and seals in solid bronze portholes replaced Spartite 2000 mast wedge and boot system installed 4 new aluminum fuel tanks 1 new aluminum holding tank All exterior canvas replaced, including bimini, windlass cover, helm cover, handrails covers, weather cloths New 12v refrigerator and freezer system installed New hot water heater Interior teak stripped and refinished to same quality as new New 16,000 BTU Dometic AC New mattresses for all bunks All new upholstery All new faucets

Music by Sasha Facebook page (facebook.com/iamsashamusic), Twitter page (twitter.com/iamsashamusic) and Spotify (open.spotify.com/artist/13POEdcy38kG2ZzQD6PnTB) Really appreciate the support, check out the Patreon for more access and perks: https://www.patreon.com/FindingSimon If Patreon isn't your thing, I also have a Paypal.me link: paypal.me/ShelbyandSimon I'm a Canadian photographer from Ottawa who got rid of everything to travel to world. I make travel vlogs sharing my ups and downs, adventures on motorbikes, sailboats, and vans. Instagram: @Finding_Simon Snapchat: Finding_Simon Twitter: @FindingSimon Donations: paypal.me/ShelbyandSimon Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/FindingSimon Merchandise: http://simonstiles.com/finding-simon/ :::::::FAQ::::::: - How do you afford to travel constantly? A: I travel really cheap, free camping, cooking my own meals, being as efficient as possible. I make my income almost entirely on YouTube but it's really tight. Ad revenue, patreon, paypal donations, merchandise sales and affiliate links bring in about as much as a part time minimum wage job, and I'm able to make that work. When it isn't enough I go back to work, doing photography mostly, sometimes commercial video projects, but it takes me away from my travels and videos. - How much does it cost? I spend on average $2000 travelling, most of which is gas, some repairs, food, and on average less than $200 on any eating out, shopping or extra curricular expenditures. I make $200 a month from YouTube and $400 from Patreon. The rest I make from my work. - What camera do you use? Sony A7ii, Nikon D810, Sony RX100 iii, DJI Phantom 3 Advanced, Rode Videomic with Deadcat, Zihyun Crane 3 Axis Gimbal, Underwater Housing, tripods and lights. - What is your bike? 1999 Yamaha Vstar XVS1100 with a Champion Escort sidecar. - What're your plans? Buy a boat, fix it up, sail off into the sunset. - How do you find all these cool places? To gain access to my complete research you need to hit me up on Patreon, but here's a few sites I frequent: https://freecampsites.net/ https://www.campendium.com/ http://www.atlasobscura.com/ https://www.couchsurfing.com/ - What do you do for Internet? I use coffeeshops and libraries to upload episodes a few at a time, I also use my wifi antenna (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5T9lNM8Mukk&t=2s) and a data package on my phone (10GB) - How do you live on the road with a dog? It's really not as difficult as people seem to think. I spend most of the day with my dog anyways, especially if it's warm out in the middle of the day. I let the constraint of bringing my dog with me help me make some decisions, avoiding places that ban dogs, and spending more time out in nature instead of in the cities. - What happened to the girl? We decided to go separate ways (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aPgxDIXxCjY&t=4s) - Are you rich or something? definitely not. I've spent some quality time homeless, I've struggled financially most of my life, and although I'm blessed with great friends and family as well as being able bodied white and male, I don't subscribe to the belief that you need someone footing your bills in order to travel the world. You need to sacrifice comfort, consistency, safety, time with family, and often your career but it is possible. - Why don't you have 10x more subscribers? My channel isn't that old, many of the bigger channels you can compare mine to started putting out videos a couple years before I began. I could always use your help sharing my videos, spreading the word, and connecting with cross promotional opportunities. Editing and travelling tend to take up all my time. - Where are you now? The top perk on my Patreon page is a live link of my location on google maps so you can get an active idea of where I am currently. If that's not an option for you there's also Instagram and Instagram stories that give you a much better idea of what I'm up to today.

At sea 300 miles from Barbados. In this episode, I get knocked over as a wave comes over into the cockpit, have unwelcome visitors come on-board, have some carnage on the deck, give a tour around the boat at sea, explain my lifeline and underwear washing technic, get very tired in heavy rolling seas. Now on Patreon. Im pleased to announce we are now on Patreon. Please checkout our page on the link below. https://www.patreon.com/Adventuresofanoldseadog Thank you for watching this episode of Adventures of an old Seadog, I hope you enjoyed it. A great deal of work and love goes into every video in the series. Please give us a thumbs up. On Facebook our page is ‘Adventures of an old Seadog’ and there you can find ‘realtime’ up-dates and news that you are welcome to share with your friends. All of the ‘Seadog’ videos are available to watch on the ‘Barry Perrins’ channel on Youtube. For notifications on new releases please subscribe. Thanks so much for your support, The adventure continues. Safe sailing. Twitter https://twitter.com/barryperrins Facebook https://www.facebook.com/adventuresofanoldseadog/ Boat: White Shadow is a Van De Stadt ‘Seal’ 36 (11 metres). She is hand made in steel, 2004, with a round bilge (hull) and a modified coach roof. This makes her a ‘one off’ and in my opinion the most beautiful Van De Stadt 36 ever built. The camera gear: Main camera is a Panasonic Hc-v700. Most shots are done with an external mic (Shenggu sg 108) with a sponge and dead kitten attached. Action stuff and small blogging is done with a Sony Hdr-as30v. Underwater video Gopro3plus. Editing: Final cut pro on a Macbook. Most of the material for each video is filmed over a period of several weeks or so and the editing of each episode is normally done over a day. This process can take longer if original music is used or permissions are needed for copyrighted materials etc. Much time is spent sorting out technical problems. In this case I normally get the help of a younger person who understands computerie stuff! There are also times when filming, editing and uploading is not possible due to being at sea or in locations with no internet access. Content: I have found that filming and releasing material over a period of time is better than doing ‘vlog’ style videos and trying to make episodes out of whats happened in a week, regardless if it’s good content or not. By filming over a period of time I can be more selective in what goes into each video. My aim is to avoid ‘blar bar mundane’ and have at least one or two exciting and interesting events in every video. Every video has to be entertaining. Man, we love New York! Its' the end of our season and the boat is tucked up and happy in Charleston, so it's time to fly home to see our families. As we are flying out of JFK , we decide to visit this great city, meet its people and do the whole tourist thing. We take the ferry across the river, walk about 200 blocks, eat like kings and take a very moving trip to the 9/11 memorial. It's a fitting end to our season, and so very very different to our time spend in splendid isolation in the Bahamas. Thanks so much for watching! After two long years in the work yard and additional two months in the water, and we're ready to toss off our dock lines! We aren't headed out for good, but we are more than ready for a shakedown cruise to see how systems are working, what still needs to be addressed before we can shove off for good, and most importantly, just give ourselves a nice vacation away from work and from the marina. Getting ready to go came with a few of its own problems, and even for a shakedown we left about two weeks later than anticipated. Once we shoved off though, it was a nice 28 mile ride down the St. Lucie River into Stuart, which is our first stop on our trip. We got the anchor down just before thunderstorms came in over us and even used them for a fresh water rinse on deck. Stay tuned for the next episode where we hopefully move ourselves further down the coast on our shakedown and take Elements of Life for her first sail. Cheers from the WATER!! Thank you SO MUCH to our Patrons. These charitable souls help keep us in the work yard, our camera equipment up to date, and the videos coming. NOW SOLD Antigua is a 1991 Beneteau First 45f5 now for sale exclusively with the team at YOTI on Sydney Harbour. http://www.yoti.com.au/listing/beneteau-first-45f5-antigua Designed with a fast hull, deep keel and long waterline, the 45F5 was the lovechild of Beneteau, Bruce Farr and Peninfarina (Ferrari). In the Beneteau 45F5 we see a high performance high volume yacht that oozes luxury, performance and elegance. ‘Antigua’ is powered by a brand new Volvo D255 horse Diesel engine with 3-blade feathering prop. Her sails were upgraded by Doyles in 2011 with a new Carbon Kevlar Main and genoa – which sits on an underdeck furling system. Antigua is extremely well equipped for offshore sailing with Raymarine colour chart plotter, Furuno Radar, SSB, ICOM VHF and remote and two ipad LCD screens mounted at the Nav station. She also features B&G cockpit instruments and Robertson Autopilot, and a Muir windlass with a newly upgraded motor winch which can be controlled by remote from the cockpit. Below decks the First 45F5 offers warm tones in mahogany and offers an abundance of natural light thanks to a number of portlights and overhead hatches which also offer exceptionally good ventilation. She has a spacious 3-cabin layout with the master cabin forward boasting an ensuite head and day lounge. The second head and shower lie to port of the companionway. The inline galley has ample storage in cupboards and drawers with a large opening fridge and freezer finished off with marble bench tops. Her lounge area boasts a beautiful dining table in a luxurious interior with plush newly covered cushions in plush white leatherette. The 45F5 is a beautifully constructed performance yacht suited to short or long distance cruising and racing. If you are looking for a fast cruiser that is suitable for comfortable offshore voyaging or a solid racing yacht at an affordable price, then look no further. http://www.berthon.co.uk/about-berthon/berthon-history/#tab3 Brian May, owner and MD at Berthon Boat Company, and Ross Monson, Berthon Refit Manager, demonstrate how to build an original Berthon Collapsible Boat, the vessel that would start a long history in lifesaving vessels being built by Berthon, with the most recent being the Shannon class Lifeboat for the RNLI. There are no complete records of the number of collapsible boats built at Romsey from 1873 to 1917 but research accounts for at least 1400 boats supplied to the Navy, Army, French Navy, Passenger and Troopships. The Army and Navy stores London also commenced retailing the smaller Berthon collapsible boats in 1889 in considerable numbers, as yacht tenders, loch and river fishing craft. http://www.berthon.co.uk/about-berthon/berthon-history/#tab3
