Our viewers often ask for "a day in the life video" and how we make money while living on our boat. Mostly we just pay money to live on a boat and make videos for YouTube. One day we will vlog for a living like Casey Neistat. I found myself watching a Casey Neistat video. It was an older video, but they always get me amped up to make more videos. This is a how to video for changing an AC strainer on a boat. Marine air conditioner strainers clog pretty quickly in the hot months. In our marina we have to clean it every two weeks or it gets bad. Thanks for watching this video on a day in the life living on a sailboat. Thanks Casey Neistat for the motivation to record it. The Boat Life http://bit.ly/HelpFundMoreVideos or buy yourself a shirt http://www.TheBoat.Life/shop This is The Boat Life. Nic Morganti and Melissa Auman are moving onto a sailboat. The plan was sell everything, buy a boat, live on a boat, and travel and explore the Caribbean and the world while living aboard! The uniform is boardshorts and bikinis. Simple plan, but lots to learn and do along the way. Join our adventure as we sail away on sv Dodi, our Island Packet IP27, live on a sailboat, and explore life aboard. This is our sailing travel vlog The Boat Life. its like van life, but in a sailboat, oh and on the water. Thanks for watching! Want to see more videos. We're finally building our own Lego City. This is the first of monthly updates of where we are, what we're doing, how it's looking and how we're approaching the problem. So far it's mostly Lego modulars, some park, a beach, and our Lego high speed train. Read more about it at http://brickdigest.com/2018/08/01/lego-city-build-progress-july-2018/
The Dinghy Race is unlike any other youth sailing event. Throwing out the typical windward leeward playbook, the event aims to be an offshore adventure that presents juniors with new challenges and experiences. Setting out from Niantic Bay Yacht Club on Long Island Sound, a fleet of Club 420s raced several point-to-point legs over a distance of seven miles, eventually ending at Fishers Island. Once on the island, racing was followed by a debrief and kid-friendly regatta party, capped-off by a massive camp out in the island’s high school gymnasium. The next morning, once roused by the regatta organizers, the kids hopped back into their boats and raced back to the mainland. It was great to see the sailors applying the Blockheads tuning scale to their boats and using the tips in the accompanying tuning pamphlet. It’s our goal to return for the 2019 edition and hope everyone considers checking out and sending a team to this super fun, challenging, and unique event. Here is the complete live encounter with Mark Slats in the Golden Globe race at Rubicon in Lanzarote. The Golden Globe Race is a solo sailing race around the world. 50 years ago the first one was held and only one man made it to the finish. The rest broke their boat, got sick, couldn't handle being alone for 300 days and one even committed suicide. This is probably the most extreme race in the world. In this vlog I get the chance to really talk to Mark Slats. A couple months ago he rowed a little rowing boat across the ocean and now taking on this extreme challenge. Mark Slats is now second in place and determined to win.

Come aboard our 1974 Dufour 34 for a boat tour to see where we have been living since May 2017 whilst exploring Northern Europe. So far, she has taken us from Grimsby down to Lowestoft and across the North Sea to the Netherlands. She then took us up the North Sea Canal to Amsterdam and the Markenmeer beyond before heading back out to sea to follow the Dutch coast South to France. We then spent two months last season exploring the North and North West of France before wintering in Jersey. Last year we crossed the English Channel from Jersey to Falmouth and been across to the Isles of Scilly twice on her. We spent last winter in Falmouth and have stayed in the local area since then to explore it properly. Falmouth has an excellent sailing community and there are plenty of protected anchorages within a short sailing distance that we have been enjoying since our arrival. We make land fall on La Palma island after our overnight sail and 3 of the crew leave Galopin. Which leaves me and Natacha to discover more of the island. While visiting the town of Los Llanos we stumble into a bar full of Columbians watching the World Cup where we end up dancing and drinking the afternoon away. And then we tackle a long hike to Roque de Los Muchachos observatory at over 2000 meters where the views are absolutely stunning. Please make your voice heard: Subscribe, like, dislike, or comment. What’s that old saying? There are only three types of wind: too much, too little, or in the wrong direction. While that is fairly true, thankfully, for us, no matter what speed or direction, we can usually bust out one of our many “wind toys” and do something with it, either go sailing, kiting, or silking! We had wind for all three during our stay at Treasure Cay, a beautiful resort-type island in the Abacos with our favorite stretch (three miles!) of stunning white beach on the north shore. Fun video for you here, as well as stories and photos for you here -- https://havewindwilltravel.com/2018/05/19/bv14-3-kinds-of-wind-sailing-kiting-silking-at-treasure-cay/ -- from our colorful stay at Treasure Cay! Enjoy!

This part of Fiji is considered the most remote in Fiji. There is no customs and immigration there hence our first stop on the main island. But hey, the harder you work for something the more it is worth it right? Well our first stop, the Bay of Islands, on Vanua Balavu, was a perfect first intro to the island group. It is breathtakingly beautiful with calm and secluded anchorages and millions of shallow little bays connected by tiny passages. It was like our own personal water world. What a start to this seasons tropical cruising! Sustenance living in the villages means every family and village has a garden and they provide well for themselves. With so much growing in abundance in the warm tropical climate we were able to trade just a little bit.
We round out the second half of our trip, and complete our 977 miles from Eleuthera Bahamas to St. Barths. Day 5 still brings somewhat unpleasant conditions, leaving both of us still not feeling our best, but starting to get over it a touch. While the waves continue to drench the cockpit, we continue to hunker out below deck. Day 6 brings the sun and some calmer conditions, and we can start moving about the boat more and even get outside to enjoy the sun. Our hopes are temporarily brought up that we might make it into harbor the next night, but a quick check of our math shows us we still have two more nights at sea. By day 7 the winds have shifted just off our nose, died down to under 10 knots, and force us to put on the engine. Matt explains why we've chosen to go to St. Barth's over Sint Maarten, and even starts to clean himself up for the arrival. Morning 8 puts us in sight of many beautiful Caribbean islands, and the entrance of Gustavia Harbor in St. Barths. Elements has finally entered her first port in the Caribbean. Toasting our passage with a bottle of champagne, we go over the boat's performance on her first offshore passage with us. Cheers from St. Barth's! Fellow boaters - I'm thrilled to share my latest project with you: MaintenanceROS! Crafted from my experiences aboard Starry Horizons, it's designed to simplify vessel and maintenance management, making life on the water even more enjoyable. Explore https://MaintenanceROS.com and enjoy an exclusive 20% discount for the first 6 months using promo code 'outchasingstars'. Seamlessly manage your boat's upkeep – let's embark on this journey together! ***** It is always our preference to sail, but when faced with the choice of sailing in high southerly winds and huge swells (against the EAC) or motoring in light airs, Starry Horizons became a motor boat. We hoped that motoring would make this passage pretty easy, but Neptune had a few challenges to throw our way. A fishing trap lost a fight with one of our rope cutters and a ton of marine growth on one of our props caused us to make a quick detour in order to do some cleaning. And to top it off, the notoriously treacherous Southport Seaway was waiting for us at the end. But all's well that ends well and Starry Horizons arrived safe and sound in the Gold Coast, albeit a bit lighter on diesel! Thanks for watching! We're not afraid to jump into anything, put in the work, and learn as we go. For this reason our channel is very DIY focused, with the goal to show anyone watching that a lot is possible if you're not afraid to make some mistakes along the way. Please leave a like and comment if you've enjoyed the video, and subscribe if you haven't already.
Rebuilding the aft salon including galley, adding a locker for electrics under the bridgedeck, replacing the bulky companionway ladder with a step, converting the old engine area to storage, and replacing the inefficient built-in icebox with a slide out nav table, added counter space and radio locker.
Moby Duck is no longer for sale by JMYS. Moby Duck is hull 14, a 2014 model of the George Buehler designed, Diesel Duck. Manufactured by the Seahorse Marine yard in Zhuhai, China, she is a steel-hull long-range, sail-assisted passage maker. She was ordered contemplating every detail, by an experienced yachtsman who has previously owned (9) boats including four trawlers (two Grand Banks, a Nordhavn 55 and a Watson 72). He wanted to combine the bullet proof steel hull and efficiency of a heavy displacement sailboat, with the luxurious accommodations and creature comforts of his Nordhavn. Moby Duck was ordered so that the owner could travel shorthanded and safely anywhere in the world including extreme ice latitudes. The owner’s goals were efficiency, comfort, redundancy and safety in EVERY environment. Our 3rd sail. We get a taste of some blustery wind and proceed with caution. Tour our first boat just before it is sold. Wes (Snipes) makes his first appearance playing guitar and I sing a few tunes. Ashley is nervous about sailing in these conditions.
