It seems many of the places to anchor in the Northern islands of Cape Verde are said to be rough. With real experience, I can say it all depends on the wind and waves. And if you brave the conditions, you will discover anchorages that let you discover real Cape Verde. Like in Tarafal where we take a crew of local kids to a nearby beach they'd never been to. And up the coast where we anchor with Tito the pirate and discover the great town of Porto Novo. No yachties dares anchor there because a sailboat has sunk in the harbor. But we do and we discover amazing music and a great vibe. We dare to go where many don't. Please make your voice heard: Subscribe, like, dislike, or comment. Now that we have spent a few weeks sailing and living on a catamaran, what do we think of it vs our monohull? We can't believe our time on the Island Spirit 380 is coming to an end, so we try to enjoy our last few days in Koh Chang to the fullest. With long lounging breakfast in the open air cockpit, we get ready to start our day on shore. Renting a scooter so we can cover more ground, we drive up to the Klong Plu Waterfall. It's much taller than the one we saw in Koh Kut, but big boulders and deep pools keep you from taking a nice swim underneath it. With our set of wheels we also take in a beautiful sunset at White Sand Beach, before walking down the strip of road there for dinner once the sun goes down. Famous for its street food, there are dozens of stalls set up that will offer you almost any kind of Thai food you can think of....and all incredibly cheap! Then, it's time to return the catamaran to the base. Having spent two weeks aboard a multihull boat, we give a little insight to our thoughts on cruising a catamaran...and if one will ever be in our future. Much love from Thailand, Jessica, Matt & Georgie

Ciononostante Zadig riprende a navigare verso sud, destinazione Lusinj per dichiararci all'autorità portuale croata.

Now SVN is also in English. Some aerial footage of the Florida Crossway Canal. It's only about 5 minutes south of us. We love spending time here. It looks awesome from the air but the size of this thing is impressive from the ground. The state park system takes care of it at the moment however it is not a Florida state park. No idea what that mean. lol Either way, it's a really interesting environmental story! :D

This Beneteau was the newest yacht I ever sailed and it shows. In addition to lots of features perfect for a charter week, the boats speed was nothing to sneeze at. I'm impressed. I am not in any way affiliated with Beneteau. In this video I try to make a fix for the very unpleasant showers you get down your neck when steering underneath the solar panles when it is raining. I also make a fix for the wounds left in the boat when I removed the thruster controls. Didn’t see that one coming! For the first time since we left the dock in Stockholm, we take Polar Seal out for a spin in the bay of Cartagena, just for the sake of having the fun day on the water (oh and also because we want to test our water maker…) We have an amazing day at anchorage, filled with a home cooked truffle tortilla (recipe at the link below!), making fresh water out of salt water, jumping in the sea, and just generally hanging out with our friend Marky. Once back in Cartagena, we hop on Marky’s new boat, a Nicholson 35, for a sea trial / sunset cruise and diner. But the evening does NOT end the way we had planned it… Oh, and should you want to cook a tortilla yourself... here's the full recipe! https://ryanandsophie.com/the-mean-truffle-tortilla-recipe/ ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ ** JOIN THE CREW! ** Join our virtual crew of Patrons at: https://www.patreon.com/ryanandsophiesailing ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ ** MUSIC ** 🎶 In this video: Leif Larsson - Spanish delight 3 (Epidemic Sound) Rune Dale - Barcelona (Epidemic Sound) Leif Larsson - Spanish delight 1 (Epidemic Sound) Håkan Eriksson - Cape Verdean Sun 3 (Epidemic Sound) Håkan Eriksson - Cape Verdean Sun 2 (Epidemic Sound) Håkan Eriksson - Spanish Dance (Epidemic Sound) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ ** GEAR ** ⛵️Our boat: Polar Seal, 2007 Beneteau Oceanis 40, owners version (2 cabins layout). The final instalments of our NEW Engine. https://www.sailingnandji.com In this episode of Sailing Nandji, our new engine Fang is finished off. We finish of the drive system installation installing the PSS Shaft seal, align the engine and install the Sigma Drive. The Sigma Drive in our eyes is a genious piece of engineering allowing and compensating for any alignment issues and protecting damage to our gearbox. We run our new 3 inch exhaust and this involves cutting a new hole in the sides of Nandji. There are 2 types of people that own boats... Ones that drill holes in them and the ones that dont! Thank you to everyone who has watched our videos and contributed to our new engine. It is all because of you legends we have been able to install this brand new engine and re-power Nandji. With all this boat work being complete our vessel is becoming indestructible as we get her ready for our next big trip across the Indian Ocean. With no sailing experience, we bought a yacht, got it blue water cruising ready and set off sailing around the Pacific! We have just sailed 2000nm through Indonesia and have arrived to the boat yard in Malaysia to prepare for the next big adventure. Currently on the hard stand, we are re-powering and completing a major refit! We departed Australia in July 2017 and have since explored some amazing countries, met some beautiful people and experienced different cultures, dived pristine reefs, surfed solo in the middle of nowhere, spent weeks at sea, dealt with storms, big waves, strong winds and had the time of our life doing it! The adventure is just beginning as we sail West with the trades around the World! Indian Ocean here we come!! This episode is PACKED with cool stuff - beautiful New Zealand landmarks, fabulous Birthday Party; visiting Cape Reinga, Te Paki Sand Dunes, 90 mile beach, Waitangi Treaty Grounds & Maori museum and of course Tall Ship Rally in Russell. We could easily make 5 more episodes about this juicy content, but we so badly want to catch up and be closer to where we are now. So please forgive us for brief overview and keep calm - Aquarius upgrades and maintenance video is in progress, and as Ken wants nothing less perfection - you'll have to wait just a bit longer... I hope you will enjoy this episode and meanwhile let's stay in touch via Facebook and Instagram for most up to date events & locations. Fair winds! (UPDATE: SAM MADE IT SAFE AND SOUND TO HILO!) Hello Friends! This is a special episode where I interview my friend and marina neighbor Sam Holmes who, by the time this was uploaded, departed for Hawaii in his Ranger 23 named "Swedish Fish" Our regular viewers will remember him from the episode where Camille and myself sailed to Santa Barbara Island ( https://youtu.be/bKYkneYs0z0 ) Since then Sam has outfitted his tiny 23ft sailboat for passage making including adding a wind vane steering system, solar power and more. The day before Sam left I sat down with him onboard SV Swedish Fish and interviewed him about the trip and his preparations. Sam is a true maniac and I have full faith that he will make it to Hawaii with many stories to tell about the passage. You can watch his progress at: https://share.garmin.com/SamHolmes He told me off camera he will be filming the passage and after its all done giving the footage to a professional editor he knows to edit it into a long video or episodes. His youtube channel is there: https://www.youtube.com/user/SamoPajamo/ Fair Winds to Sam and SV Swedish Fish!!!!! until next time, Sailor James Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/sailorjames website: http://svtriteia.com Instagram: http://www.instagram.com/james.the.sailor.man #samholnes #samholmessailing

The fun doesn't end yet in Antigua! WE set sail for a weekend in Barbuda and this time with some new friends we met from Colorado. Our adventures get a little off road this time as we try to navigate through the center of the island. Our new friends Marcy & Steve pick us up to go meet our sailing inspiration S/V Delos! However, on the way our GPS navigates us through a terrible road, almost leaving us stranded to walk. But there was no stopping us to meeting one of our biggest inspiration on the beach for some sundowners. Join us as we take our friends to sail Baruda and explore the stunning soft, pink beaches and back to Antigua. The fun doesn't end there as we circumnavigate the whole island ending in English Harbor for a sunset hike up to Shirley Heights with music from the steel pan band! Thanks for watching.
