Aloha is no longer for sale by JMYS. Aloha is the last Willard 40 manufactured, the grand finale – a wonderful last ship built to wrap up an extraordinary history of building recreational trawlers (note: Willard Marine continues to build military vessels today). The seller was a very involved manager of the sales, marketing and production of the recreational product line and when it was time to order his own yacht, he was able to take advantage of 41 years of trawler building expertise at Willard. The current owner/seller was also one of the designers of Aloha. Willards are very well known in the closed knit trawler community but did not have the marketing budget of other brands. You may not know that Willard Marine was the very first manufacturer of custom fiberglass recreational trawlers, years ahead of the better-known brands that you have heard of and read about in magazines. Willard is well remembered as one of the very few American Made trawlers. Continually based in Southern California, Willard Marine departed the recreational trawler market and has focused their efforts on US Navy and Coast Guard contracts instead. Aloha is a very capable passage maker, fuel efficient, economical and an ideal cruising vessel for a couple or someone looking for a stout package in a moderate envelope. Her distinctive rounded stern and long keel give her exceptional performance in following seas. Her fine entry and natural hull curves allow her to glide through the seas, easily cleaving through big swells and moving along swimmingly. Her construction is the tried and true, hand laid, 100% fiberglass solid and robust hull. The hull structure is divided into three watertight compartments with separate bilge pumps. This week we leave Scedro and sail towards the Pakleni Islands in Croatia, where we enjoy a peaceful and beautiful anchorage before heading to the buzzing Hvar town on the island of Hvar. We are able to anchor just outside the town centre and re-stock Kawai with water, diesel and food before we get to enjoy our time in Hvar town. We visit the Spanish Castle, soak up the buzzing atmosphere and eat some pizza. After spending a night in the Hvar anchorage we shelter from some strong winds in a calm anchorage just outside the main town. The winds improve and it's time to leave and we sail to the island of Brac to pick up Jase's parents. About us: Our names are Jason and Tracey and we traded our house, cars, business, job and security for freedom, adventure, travel and living simply amongst nature and the seas on our 45 foot Hanse 445 sailing boat, Kawai. We don't know exactly where the winds will take us at this stage but over the next year we hope to sail to Turkey, Greece, Montenegro, Croatia, Italy, Spain, Morocco, Gibraltar, Canary Islands and then across the Atlantic Ocean. In this episode we tour the wreckage of yachts caught and killed by nature's fury. Martinique - This French island keeps a lot of the character of her motherland with French villages, each with their own little church, scattered throughout the island. Hypermarkets, fashion boutiques, and cafes are easy to find - even in tiny costal villages. Mountainous, with and black and white sand beaches and numerous safe harbors, Martinique offers easy cruising for sailing enthusiasts. Christofer Columbus landed here in 1502 and commented that Martinique is the best, most fertile and most charming spot in the world, and that his eyes could never tire of contemplating such lush greenery. At the northern end of the island, which is only 19 miles in total length, is mount Pele’e - a volcano with recent and devastating action. In 1902 it erupted, killing nearly every inhabitant of the city capital Saint Piere below. A mixture of lava and superheated gases and vapor wiped out almost 30,000 inhabitants almost instantly leaving the capital is ruins Highlights of our visit include visiting the Clement rum distillery, exploring the windward side by elective moke, cleaning up a historic coastal trail, and exploring the surf, sand, and entertainment with friends and family. 20 October 2013 - The MC²60 #1 Mach² finished 2nd over the line in the 656 miles Hong Kong to Vietnam Race behind Ragamuffin 90 skippered by Syd Fisher with around 20 professional sailors on board. Mach² raced with only 6 crew. The MC²60 finished ahead of the three TP52, the other 90ft monohull, Chivas and a fleet of racing 40ft monohulls. Mach² sailed the 656 miles in 49h30mns. In this episode we learn that there's always great sailing wind on the Windward islands. You don't need to check the forecast, it's blowing every day around 20 knots. Being in a rush is always bad, but we have only 2 more weeks left till our next guest arrives on Antigua. We decided to hurry a little bit and check out in Bequia to sail more or less directly to Martinique. A short stop in St. Lucia for a good pizza before we head finally to Martinique is a quite good idea.

This week we started to finish our shipping container house plywood shower cabin, hehehe. Yep! That is right, we did all the preparation work. So, hopefully next week we can finally finish it!! So? What did we do? Well, we finished some wood details, basically connections in between panels and some trimming.
