We met in the summer 2015, we were introduced to each other by the virtual world. Eighteen months later we were getting married on a beautiful beach on Barbados, bare foot, very simple ceremony just like a dream! Two days after the wedding laying on the beach, talking about sailing, Carla suggested... why don't we sail around the world? Guess what Simon said? "Let's do it" He took it with no second thoughts! And here we are, fifteen months after that day in Barbados, we started our adventure in Croatia. We made it happen working through all the challenges on the way. Foi uma mistura de dor, felicidade, filosofia e muito aprendizado. Viver novamente em terra por um mês faz relembrar porque fomos para o mar. Quando nenhum marinheiro do Clube Náutico de Antonina quis lixar o meu barco até o Gelcoat, eu deveria desconfiar que era algo difícil, mas como já tinha subido ele, não tinha outra alternativa a não ser lixar eu mesmo. Die nächsten 2 1/2 Jahre werden wir nutzen um den Pazifik zu durchqueren, den indonesischen Raum zu erkunden und letztendlich nach der Umrundung des Kap der guten Hoffnungen wieder Fuß auf europäisches Land zu setzen. Finalmente, depois de quase um mês longe voltamos para casa! Que alegria! Trouxemos com a gente o Ricardo e a Silvia, nossos primos. Na verdade quem nos trouxe foram eles, já que viemos sem carro e com uma mudança gigantesca (de todas as compras que fizemos para a nossa viagem!). O Rica e a Sil estavam voltando da Austrália depois de um ano e oito meses longe da família. Então, para a gente que queria aproveitar qualquer fio de família possível, foi maravilhoso tê-los a bordo! O tempo não estava dos melhores, mas pra gente pouco importou. Fomos conhecer a cachoeira da Ilha Comprida e dormimos pertinho, na Piraquara de Dentro (pois a previsão estava bem ruim com aviso de ressaca e ventos fortes). Mas o importante é que deu pra velejar! Ouvir o barulhinho da vela subindo foi mágico! Me deixou muito feliz! Voltamos para a marina para aproveitar os dias de mamata no ar condicionado e energia à vontade. Mas confesso, quando eles foram embora e ficamos sem carro, caiu uma ficha... estamos agora realmente apenas embarcados.

There’s so much to do before we head off across the South Pacific to the Marquesas. Bobby takes us to a farmer’s wholesale fresh produce market to pick up some old crates to store our cans for the crossing and we buy bulk produce. Then it’s back to Nutshell to process everything. Pickling and canning en mass. Magnus takes the opportunity to borrow Bobby’s vice to replace the bearings in the alternator.
