Our first sail and first impressions of the 52 ft Seawind 1600 before it goes on display at the Sanctuary Cove Boat Show. Designed by Reichel Pugh and built by Seawind catamarans, this design has beautifully balanced performance with luxury and comfort. Warning Youtude aficionados: This video was shot in one take without scripts, on an iPhone and Mavick Pro Drone while delivering the boat to the owner. So don't expect a Hollywood production - just our thoughts and some key features of our first sail without production. Check out our SWEET Site: http://bit.ly/gwtw-home ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- There is a yin to every yang and never have we felt that more than in boat life. The reality of this lifestyle is far more complex than these weekly postcards we send. From beautiful moments and epic encounters in the underwater world to endless repairs brought on by the salty environment we love so much. It feels like a battle of extremes some days and it can be a challenge to find the balance. Like all older boats, our Curiosity requires a lot of maintenance and a steady stream of replacement parts. Add in our inexperience and a remote location to the mix and the whole experience shifts to from physical to mental. We have to consistently fine tune our attitudes and learn to take it in stride. Some days, a good beer really helps. 😉 Too much work and not enough play or vice versa leads to an imbalance that can cause disaster. We all experience this yin and yang in life. Of all the various lifestyles we’ve had the great fortune to experience, sailing around the world has the most dramatic highs and lows. But, it’s like Brian said in the movie Vanilla Sky, ‘WITHOUT THE BITTER, BABY, THE SWEET AIN’T AS SWEET.’ While swelling batteries, rusted engine parts and broken water pumps may be bitter, nothing is sweeter than swimming with a Manta Ray the lagoons of Bora Bora! We LOVE going to Vietnam for many reasons, but the coffee culture is definitely one of them. We were spoiled in the North this trip as we discovered a new kind of coffee, egg coffee. It is fabulous. And, we overindulged on our milk coffee and coconut coffee. They never disappoint. And, the people watching in the Old Quarter never disappoints. There's definitely a hierarchy to the cafe culture - the egg coffee at Cafe Giang was definitely the best as was their chocolate coffee. But, when does iced coffee on a hot afternoon disappoint? We hope you enjoy this glimpse into the coffee culture and have a chance to try the Vietnamese coffee some day. #china #chinalifestyle #chinalife #qingdao #vietnam #vietnamesecoffee #hanoi NEW TO OUR CHANNEL? We are Eileen and Brown Councill. Welcome to our channel and a glimpse into our life adventure! 2020 was a year of uncertainty and change (for all of us, right?), but we overcame the challenges and decided it was time to chase our dream, to sail around the world! Did I mention that we had very NO sailing experience? Before leaving Qingdao, China, our home of 4 years, we sold almost all of our earthly possessions and started our international search to find the right sailboat that we would call "home." After 5 months of unanticipated twists and turns, we found what we were looking for, a used Leopard 44' Catamaran located in St. Lucia. So, here begins our journey, filled with unmatched excitement and honestly, a bit of trepidation as well. We have much to learn as we travel the world on our floating home and we intend to document that journey and share it with you. We are so glad you have decided to join us, and we hope that you will find our story so compelling that it will inspire you to chase your dreams too! As a viewer, we consider you to be part of our family and look forward to getting to know you. Don't hesitate to comment on our videos and ask questions. We will do our best to answer every correspondence! All we ask is that you have patience with us as we work really hard to improve our camera/video techniques and ability to tell a story. Hopefully, you will be as BLOWN AWAY from watching, as we are in experiencing and producing our adventures! HOW CAN YOU SUPPORT US? If you wish to support our video efforts, all we ask is that you SUBSCRIBE, give a THUMBS UP, SHARE our videos with your friends, AND COMMENT! WOULD YOU LIKE TO GET TO KNOW US MORE DEEPLY? This time on Kawai we welcome and introduce Jase's parents to sailing with some not so good weather and they love it! Our first sail from Supetar, Brac to Milna, Brac we have 20 knot winds, 8 degrees and storms around. From Milna we sail on to Uvala Smrka, Brac where we anchor with an unusual and interesting view of a submarine bunker from World War II. We enjoy a walk with some wildlife and settle in to catch up with a few drinks and a great view of Kawai and the bunker. The next day we sail a short distance to Uvala Blaca to hike up to Blaca Monastery and enjoy learning about the history and how it was run. We made it back to Kawai just in time for the winds to pick up and we sail further along the southern side of Brac towards Zlatni Rat. Unfortunately the winds and waves continue to increase so we do a quick sail by Zlatni Rat and move on towards Jelsa and Vrboska on Hvar. Jase's parents get to experience great sailing in over 26 knots and thankfully they love the experience. The next day we run to Vrboska for a quick look before moving on to Hvar town and Pakleni Islands. More crazy weather arrives and we take shelter in the Pakleni Islands on a mooring ball where we witness a bit of chaos - dragged mooring ball, tangled anchors and some wild sailing. We continue checking out many Croatian towns including Korcula and Slano where we find a picturesque and sheltered anchorage close to Dubrovnik. Our time in Croatia comes to an end for now as we check out of Dubrovnik and head towards Montenegro. About us: Our names are Jason and Tracey and we traded our house, cars, business, job and security for freedom, adventure, travel and living simply amongst nature and the seas on our 45 foot Hanse 445 sailing boat, Kawai. We don't know exactly where the winds will take us at this stage but over the next year we hope to sail to Turkey, Greece, Montenegro, Croatia, Italy, Spain, Morocco, Gibraltar, Canary Islands and then across the Atlantic Ocean. Jase loves making travel videos and we decided to upload to youtube to share our adventure. We really hope you enjoy and feel free to drop us a comment any time to chat or subscribe to follow along :) Instagram Trace: https://www.instagram.com/trace_y02/?hl=en Jason: https://www.instagram.com/jase_stephens1/?hl=en Music 1. Replacing the wheel hub bearings on the rear of a Lincoln with independent rear suspension isn't that bad. Here we show you how to remove the wheel hub and bearing, press the new bearing, then reassemble the hub. This was my first time to work on this car and it took me about 2 hours to do everything. If I would have known what I was doing it probably would have taken an hour. To jack the car up and break loose any hard bolts I used the emergency jack kit a few people love to hate. The 12v jack and impact worked great and I didn't have to pull out the compressor. Video review of 12v jack kit with impact: https://youtu.be/ivY477HIHAE Amazon link for 12v jack kit with impact: Amazon link: https://amzn.to/2ONAdsK Credit to Mike's Automotive for pressing the bearing in, really a group of nice people that work at this family-owned business. We leave Greifswald on Aurora’s maiden voyage. We are in a bit of a hurry to catch the lifting bridge to get out to sea, all starts of well as we head out to Christiansø and across the shipping lanes and the overnight sail is pretty eventful as we sail through thunderstorms. In Christiansø we try to get the sail out as I sensed there was something wrong when I furled the mainsail in the night before. Sure enough there was, the learning curve is steep as we haven’t used an in mast furling sail before. So this episode isn’t all fun and games unfortunately but we learn so much about the in-mast furling and the problems that you can have. In the future I will try to do a proper tutorial on what we learned with the Selden mast and the Elfstrom in-mast furling sail. In hind sight the problem was simply lack of experience with this rig, learning something new everyday! All the best, Chris and Tanja Instagram: saling_yacht_aurora

I had my story crossed my whole life! When my dad would go on fishing trips, he would always talk about the hassle with crooked customs agents. I always thought he was talking about the agents he encountered when he returned, but that was not the case. The US Customs agents were honest and true. The Dominican Republic Customs agents were crooked and corrupt! Apologies to the Agents in PR and any shame this might have caused, we look forward to meeting you guys when we check into Puerto Rico in a few years ;) Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/riggingdoctor Shirts: https://teespring.com/stores/rigging-doctor Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/riggingdoctor Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/sailingwisdom Website: https://www.riggingdoctor.com Paintings: artisticeyestudio@gmail.com Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/shop/riggingdoctor Hotel Booking: https://travelgnu.com/author/rigging-doctor Thanks to our sponsors: Audible: https://www.audibletrial.com/RiggingDoctor Sun Oven: https://www.sunoven.com/riggingdoctor Aleader Watershoes: https://amzn.to/2FnSKMe Our Camera Gear: GoPro Hero 5: https://amzn.to/2OKJC3D GoPro Hero 7: https://amzn.to/2DooGgR GoPro Mount: https://amzn.to/2ONdixg Drone DJI Spark: https://amzn.to/2OQlDQC Cruising Equipment: Electric Motor QT20 by Electric Yacht: https://electricyachtpacific.com/ Monitor Windvane by Scanmar International: https://www.scanmarinternational.com Mantus Anchor: https://amzn.to/2DIE20E Cordless Power Drill: https://amzn.to/2OPXolW Honda Generator: https://amzn.to/2FpNhEW 50 Watt Solar Panels: https://amzn.to/2C8L90t 100 Watt Flexible Solar Panels: https://amzn.to/2Py0f36 12 volt Solar Charge Controller: https://amzn.to/2QFnF7T 48 volt Solar Charge Controller: https://amzn.to/2RSRvWX Battery Wish List: Battle Born Lithium Batteries: https://amzn.to/2TfdpoP Music: Music provided by Bensound http://www.bensound.com Music: Music provided by Spike https://www.youtube.com/spikesvibes https://soundcloud.com/spikes-vibes Music: Royalty Free Music provided by Lumafusion
In this episode we find a slice of paradise with a side of iguanas. We pick up anchor, raise the main and head north in the Exumas from Farmer's Cay to Black Point Settlement, to our next spot, to do more exploring. We are always dependent on the wind, so since we noticed that there was no wind coming up, we decided to move to take advantage of the wind we had while it was here. We had to act quick to avoid the rain storm that was chasing us. We had a quicker sail that we expected between 6-7 knots. We love sailing on the inside of the Exumas, where the water is flat. We made great time, out running the storm that was flowing us, just in time for Brandy to set up our "official" rain catching system. We were able to capture at least 20 gallons, that is a nice win in our books. After a couple of days of catching up on rest and videos, we hop in the dinghy and head over to Bitter Gauna Cay to visit the Rock Iguanas. They are native to the island and there are only about 1300 of them left. We tried to not disturb them too much, just stopping by to say hi. We are so glad we did, outside of the iguanas, the surrounding landscape was gorgeous. We do some exploring on the island and then head over to check out a boat wreck nearby. We were anticipating that the boat would be submerged, but it was mostly out of the water. It was still interesting to check out, but sad, because its just left behind to rot in the elements. We wanted to do some spearfishing, but the wind was picking up from the west and we needed to get back to Saoirse to hunker down. Black Point doesn't have much protection from West or North West winds, so we were rocking and rolling HARD for the next couple of days with the storms and winds that kept blowing through. After getting some rest, we journey out to explore more of Black Point. Hoping to find some delicious famous coconut bread by Lorraine's Mom. We find a blow hole that was very active because of the strong winds and washing machine like conditions in the Atlantic side. There are so many unique things around the Exumas, so you will never not have something to do. We run into some fellow youtubers, Nate and Keegan from Summer Friday, and hang out with them for the day. On our search for the best coconut bread around, we are sadly disappointed that they were all out and that it would be days til Lorraine's Mom would be back on the island to make more. But we met a nice lady that say's she might be able to have a loft brought down from Staniel Cay for us, but if not we may just have to stop back by, when we head back down south. big love, beau, brandy, and our salty dog, oona patreon: https://www.patreon.com/beauandbrandy facebook: https://www.facebook.com/sailingsaoirse instagram: https://www.instagram.com/beauandbrandy Epidemic Music used in this episode: Rainy Sunday - Henyaoe Changli - Ooyy In And Out Of Love (Tigerblood Jewel Remix) - The Eastern Plain Summer Feelings - Onda Norte Rewind The Future 2 - Magnus Ringblom
