A nossa volta de Abrolhos foi beeeem molhada! Pegamos ventos fortes e ondas estourando no casco. Estolamos (tiramos o leme d'água numa adernada) e apeoamos para o vento, um sustão! Mesmo assim foi uma das travessias mais legais! O vento forte e o sol eram uma combinação quenós não havíamos conseguido experimentar até agora. Foi muito bom!

-24 hrs de navigation: Présence de soleil, de pluie et parfois la brume qui nous entoure, comme dans la ouate avec une lueur de soleil au dessus de notre tête . -Navigation calme. -Pipi sur les rocher deviens une spécialitée pour notre Tite filles poillue. -Ciel étoilé et 3/4 de lune , ils nous manquent juste ,un peu de vents ,pour la navigation parfaite ;-) -Pret de Rimouski, un petit vent ce fait ressentir, Génois installé. -Quelle belle surprise, une Tite rorqual commune ,nous fait acte de ça présence. Voici le quatrième épisode d'une modeste présentation de nos 50 jours consécutifs passés à naviguer sur le Lac Champlain en 2019. Nous répétons le même scénario depuis plusieurs années, mais nous n'avions jamais pris le temps de documenter et surtout, de présenter notre expérience. Nous naviguons à 4 (2 adultes, 2 enfants en bas âge) sur un Hunter 30 Cherubini 1980 que nous avons remis à notre goût ces dernières années. Nous tenons habituellement de 8 à 9 jours avec notre réservoir d'eau et le réservoir d'eaux noires. Cette année, nous avons hissé les voiles chaque jour pour lesquels nous avons navigué. Nous avons parcouru une distance totale de 610 miles nautiques sur le fond et consommé 32 litres de diesel en 7 semaines. la plus grande distance parcourue sur le fond fut de 35,2 miles nautiques en près de 7 hrs 30. Il n'y a eu qu'une seule journée entière de pluie... notre vitesse de croisière se situe aux alentours de 5 noeuds. Nous espérons inspirer ceux qui doutent du plaisir que l'on peut avoir à naviguer sur le Lac Champlain avec une jeune famille et partager quelques'uns de nos mouillages et des quelques moments de bonheurs passés sur l'eau. To go with our grey boat theme we opted to paint our custom speaker plates. I did like the wood grain but it just didn't work with anything else in the boat. We used paint to seal the wood then added Kiwi Grip to add texture. All the materials used for this project were scrapes from other projects so the cost was so low just time. The reason for this project because the old speakers in the boat were rust 6x9s and we had 6.5 speakers lying around. The holes they had cut into the boat were in a place that when the 6x9 was mounted it had a large gape because of a curve in the body mold. The new speaker panels to about an hour to cut out and paint, and covered the 6x9 hole without the gap, while covering the rust and ugliness left by the old speakers. The yacht hit the water for the first time at the Mengi Yay shipyard in Tuzla, Istanbul on Wednesday July 31. Following her launch, Virtus will become the yard's second largest motor yacht behind the 45 metre Aquarius. Sea trials will take place just outside of the Turkish shipyard. Virtus boasts plentiful deck spaces, including a foredeck seating and sunbathing area. The superyacht sundeck is split between a spa pool and an area for sunloungers back aft, while the sheltered cockpit includes an aft-facing wrap of seating for great views out to sea. Formerly known as Hull NB96, Virtus features accommodation for up to ten guests split between a master suite and four further cabins. Meanwhile, the crew quarters allows for a staff of up to eight people.

It's our last day in the Azores as we prepare the boat to leave and head offshore to Portugal. We experience rally car racing in the streets of the historic town. Herby inspects our rigging and find some major issues that need rectifying before we shove off! Lastly, Herby makes a "patch" to the batteries for our electric motor. Bonita goes on a solo mission DEEP into the Jungle to live with the remote traditional Mentawai Tribe https://www.sailingnandji.com/ In this episode of Sailing Nandji, we decide we want to challenge our selves as our sailing plans have changed. So Bonita leaves Nandji on a solo mission into the jungle to live with the remote Mentawai Tribe who live and follow their traditional ways. She leaves Yosh all alone on Nandji who in the next episode performs his first ever offshore overnight solo sail. Bonita heads deep into the jungle on Siberut island to watch and learn how the traditional tribe live. She stays with the Shaman Cookie, who invites her into his home and shows Bonita some of the daily tasks of living in the Jungle. Cookie teaches the ways of collecting and eating insects, how to make poison arrows to kill animals and goes fishing in the stream with a local lady. This is an experience of a life time as she is the first girl to travel solo to the remote tribe and live amongst them. What a brave lady! With no sailing experience, we bought a yacht, got it blue water cruising ready and set off sailing to the Pacific! We have since cruised through Vanuatu, the Solomon islands, Papua New Guinea, Indonesia and then onto the boat yard in Malaysia to prepare for the years to come. With a new engine, we continued onto Thailand, then into Indonesia and specifically West Sumatra where we are living the island life and chasing the surf. With our Sailing plans changing, we are returning to Thailand in the coming months and then taking the northern route of the Indian Ocean to the Andaman islands and onto Sri Lanka before heading south to Chagos and across the Indian Ocean once cyclone season has finished and the trades begin again! We departed the east coast of Australia in July 2017 and have since explored some amazing countries, met some beautiful people and experienced so many different and diverse cultures, dived pristine reefs, surfed solo in the middle of nowhere, spent weeks at sea, dealt with storms, big waves, strong winds and had the time of our life doing it! Our first big adventure in the Dominican Republic brought us to a series of amazing waterfalls in the jungle of the Dominican Republic. We have felt perfectly safe so far in our short time here in this beautiful country. Sailing Coco We wake up in a new anchorage just at the entrance of the Patras straight leading up to the Gulf of Corinth. Slowly motoring up under the Antirrio bridge we find ourselves docking up to a nice little concrete dock. Well everything seemed nice at first….. we went out for dinner had a nice meal went to bed and was woken up in the early hours of the morning by a couple of guys on the deck trying to break into our front hatch. Alf quickly woke up and frightened them off, unfortunately we didn’t manage to get any of this on camera. Struggling for food as we haven’t been on land for at least a week we make our way up to the entrance of the Corinth Canal… after breakfast of course. The NEEL 47 is one of the boat we wanted to try. Here is our adventures of 6 days cruising from Saint-Tropez to Cinque Terre in Italy. In 1997 Porto Venere and the villages of Cinque Terre were designated by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site. We leave Saint-Tropez sailing direction Italy in Alassio for the 1st night. Then the second night in Porto Venere where we have a great italian breakfast and then sailing direction Cinque Terre. Visiting the 5 villages including: Riomaggiore, Manarola, Corniglia, Vernazza, Monterosso al Mare. Stunning scenery from the sea while flying the drone. Waking up in Portofino and arriving at night in the bay of Alassio where we put the anchor and have dinner and sleep. The last day for crossing back to Saint-Tropez with strong wind and high waves. The Neel 47 trimaran offer a very smooth and safe ride while cruising at fast speed. So far this is the best sailing experience we ever had. We just wish we could have went longer :) What we like about the NEEL 47 Trimaran ? - Confort of navigation - Great speed in low winds - Easy to maneuver - Feel safe while cruising in strong sea and winds (+35knots and 2+ meters waves) - Great office area for laptops and electronics - Love the main deck owner’s cabin - Galley with panoramic view in a must - Easy access and huge garage and technical areas - Beautiful look What we dislike about the NEEL 47 Trimaran ? - Lack of storage - No fresh water outside to wash the boat at sea - Float suites accessible from outside is not for us - Tender 6HP was too small - Some of the accessories mounted on this boat was low quality - No radar installed on this model - Not enough time :) What's next ? We are looking forward to test the NEEL 51 that looks more adapted for our project. ########################################## We are a family of 3, Lithuanian and French couple currently living in Dubai UAE with our daughter born in 2020, with the dream of circumnavigating the globe with a catamaran sailing boat. In 2018 until we decided to focus on our project sailing TELLUS (Latin word meaning “Earth”). We had the chance to visit and live in many beautiful countries including China, Hongkong, Thailand, Romania, Lithuania and France with our previous jobs, that made us realize how fast the world is changing and how fast the life is going and there is no “later” than “now” for the project we have in mind. In early 2019 we took a one-week sailing courses that opened our eyes of new ways of travelling and changed our life style. Im zweiten Teil unser Power-Woche kümmern wir uns um das Unterwasserschiff der Benko. Hier streichen wir das Antifouling Coppercoat. Coppercoat ist ein kupferbasiertes Antifouling. Das heißt es besteht zum einen, aus einem 2K Epoxy, und zum anderen aus 99,6% reichhaltigem Kupferpulver. Kurz bevor es ins Wasser geht, wird das ganze dann angeschliffen, sodass sich dann im Wasser das Kupfer freisetzten kann. Eine wesentlich langlebigere und umweltfreundlichere Variante als klassisches Antifouling, wie wir finden. Auch installieren wir zwei unser je 150W Solarpanele am Schiff, was uns auch gleich ordentlich Strom bringt. Am Ende bekommt die Yacht mit dem neuen Antifouling dann auch Ihren Namen und wir zeigen euch, wie wir mit Klebefolie das ganze anbringen.
