In last week's episode, we went into detail about how we are fabricating the forward sawn floors. From how we are taking measurements using tick sticks and a template to how we are cutting our rolling bevel down the frames without a ship's saw. In this episode we get into more of that work and also show how we fabricate the Bronze Floors for these frames. The floors look very different than our floors for the steamed frames and require a little figuring out for the angles. During that time we also get a lot of help from Dominique who came all the way from Belgium to come help on the project. Finally we roll out a long awaited idea of ours. We have been asked many times if we could provide something on our site for people to buy, that is made out of the wood from the project as well as Victoria's Mahogany pieces that wouldn't be used in the build. We finally got these done and we are happy to say that we have custom handmade pens now available on our site with plenty of time for shipping as Christmas gifts! As always, thank you for watching and helping to support the making of and sharing of these videos! Steve and Alix started as amateur boat builders building their own 38' wooden boat in their backyard: designer William Atkin's Ingrid with a Stormy Petrel's gaff rig. These videos follow the journey from tree felling, to lumber milling, to lofting, to the lead keel pour and beyond—sharing details of the woodworking, carpentry, metal smithing, tool building, and tool maintenance that wooden boats command. This ultimate DIY project will continue well past launch, when they will travel and learn to cruise aboard the boat that they've built. Safe sailing. Boat: White Shadow is a Van De Stadt ‘Seal’ 36 (11 metres). She is hand made in steel, 2004, with a round bilge (hull) and a modified coach roof. This makes her a ‘one off’ and in my opinion the most beautiful Van De Stadt 36 ever built. The camera gear: Main camera is a Panasonic Hc- V770 with a Rode External mic. My old camera is now my number 2 is a Panasonic Hc-v700. Most shots are done with an external mic (Shenggu sg 108) with a sponge and dead kitten attached. Action stuff and small blogging is done with a Sony Hdr-as30v. Underwater video Gopro3plus. Editing: Final cut pro on a Macbook. Most of the material for each video is filmed over a period of several weeks or so and the editing of each episode is normally done over a day. This process can take longer if original music is used or permissions are needed for copyrighted materials etc. Much time is spent sorting out technical problems. In this case I normally get the help of a younger person who understands computerie stuff! There are also times when filming, editing and uploading is not possible due to being at sea or in locations with no internet access. Content: I have found that filming and releasing material over a period of time is better than doing ‘vlog’ style videos and trying to make episodes out of whats happened in a week, regardless if it’s good content or not. By filming over a period of time I can be more selective in what goes into each video. My aim is to avoid ‘bland and mundane’ and have at least one or two exciting and interesting events in every video. Every video has to be entertaining. Comments and being at sea: I love reading your comments. Most weeks Im able to read everyone. I cant reply to everybody but I do read and enjoy them. Keep them coming! There are times that It might seem I'm not on the internet for certain periods, this is normally when Im at sea on passage. While Im out on the Ocean I have completely no communications with the outside World. Margarida gets some super fins and tests them out. She slices her leg open on some coral but takes it all in her stride, well fins I guess. I test Margarida's gun and I am bloody useless so I show you all how to shorten spear rubbers or even make your own. Margarida finds out from some true cruisers how to make pineapple beer from the skins so she shows us all how. I can't wait to try it. We heard that there was to be a BBQ on one of the islands so I get to shoot a big dog snapper, wooohooo and we enjoy an afternoon bbq at the beach. Give it thumbs a up if you liked this episode! LOREN GEARS UP and GOES IN THE CAVE!! We FINISH the INSTALL of our new STERN ARCH! It was a somewhat complicated process, but in a day and a half, we finish the install of our Atlantic Towers Stern/Dignhy/Solar arch. It doesn't all go smoothly of course (it is a boat after all), so what's the solution? Cutting MORE holes in the boat, this time with a jigsaw! It's okay because we know it'll be worth it when our dinghy is hanging proud and our solar is juicing our batteries with all that glorious energy. :-) Enjoy!! कृपया नीचे हिंदी में विवरण देखें: I realize that this is a LONG recipe video and that the music is screwed up because of my inability to replace it with a non copyright song; however, it's worth watching the entire thing BECAUSE I am now convinced that my chai recipe is MUCH better than Bhakti Chai. What you will realize is that my recipe has more depth and layers of flavor due to the ingredients and cooling process. Don't get me wrong, I still give them credit for inspiring this recipe, buy you MUST try this and see for yourself. Please leave comments after you have tried it. Thanks, learn and enjoy! Make "The King" of Chai yourself with this copycat Blown Away Chai Bhakti Chai copycat recipe. It is six years in the making and is even better than the original due to the extra depth additional traditional masala spices. Enjoy this superior fresh ginger hot and fiery chai anytime while saving money while making this at home and also be a hero by sharing with your friends! Ingredients 35 green cardamom pods (rough grind in a spice grinder) 4 star anise 2 teaspoons whole cloves 8 dried bay leaves 8 (1 inch) cinnamon bark or sticks 1 tablespoon whole coriander seed 1/8 teaspoon fresh ground whole nutmeg 1 tablespoon whole black peppercorns 10 tablespoons Red Lable black Assam tea or rough ground black tea substitute 8 cups water (6 for the tea & 2 reserved to blend with the ginger) 1 pound clean whole unpeeled ginger Directions Step 1 Place all of the spices and tea along with 6 cups of water and cut the heat on your pressure cooker or instant pot on high and when is starts steaming, reduce heat to simmer and cook at high temperature for 5 minutes and then turn off the stove and allow the cooker to rest for 15 minutes before opening. Step 2 While your pressure cooker is cooking, you can be prepare your fresh blended ginger concentrate by weighing 1 pound of clean unpeeled fresh whole ginger and then cutting it into 1 inch slices with the skin on. Next, add all to the blender and cover with the remaining 2 cups of water (add more if necessary) and then blend to a fine consistency. Step 3 Open the cooker with the cooked spices and tea and then let It cool. Next when the tea Is cool add the ginger mixture from the blender and stir a few times to mix and let sit for 20 minutes. This way the heat does not degrade the fresh and fiery flavor of the fresh ginger. Step 4 Next, strain the tea and store in the refrigerator. Mix with an equal part of whole milk and sweeten to taste. Trader Joes 100% Organic Stevia concentrate works great. Enjoy! Note that we purposely did not list the ingredients below because it is necessary to watch the video to see the special processes used and reasons for. Please make sure to use this recipe in its entirety before starting to make changes to it. Musik: SYBS: Fond Memories
You can check out but you can never leave! Ohhh Lord Howe Island was picture perfect for one week, absolutely pristine. But we had to pay for it, and pay for it we did. Our mooring is protected from everything but winds from the west - and that's what rolled in... for days on end. Join us as we duck and weave on the mooring like a punch drunk boxer, as Latitude strains her lines dangerously close to the reef. The poppet gets sea sick on the mooring, and I surpass myself with spectacular arts and crafts, really, my woodwork is sublime. . A shout out here to the good people of Lord Howe Island, hospitality and friendliness second to none. Especially local policeman/customs/maritime extraordinaire, Simon. . We hope you enjoy. Denham and Mari.

We had a first glance at the new Dehler 30 one design under sails right before the Cannes Yachting Festival 2019! Our impressions, and the details about her rig and the sail package which comes with the Dehler... SORRY for the bad sound during the Interviews... our microphone took a bath in salty water and was unwilling to do it's job, so we had to improvise with another mic...

Palmerston Island has the most interesting history. First discovered by Captain James Cook in 1774 it was settled in 1863 by Englishman William Marsters along with his 3 Polynesian wives and 23 children. Today the island is still owned and run by the direct descendants of William Marsters with the exception of the nurse, teacher and church minister! The islanders show incredible hospitality to the steady stream of yachts that visit here every year, providing mooring buoys and lunch with your host family ashore everyday. Seeing as they have no shops and only two supply ships visit every year, the yachts are a great source of both supplies and entertainment for the locals. Possibly one of the most unique places on the planet - enjoy experiencing our visit with us! We are the Robbins family sailing on our boat named Nikau. We are a family of 5. Our 3 kids are doing NZ correspondence school on board. They are growing to love it! What's not to love about 3 hours of school a day and then a different playground for the afternoon every day! We've traveled from New Zealand to Sardinia in Italy to pick up our boat and we plan over a few seasons to sail her back to New Zealand. We hope you enjoy following us on our adventures! We would love to hear from you. Especially if you are interested in doing something crazy like we are! Maybe we can help answer some questions you have? Thanks and enjoy.
