Hello Everyone. This is our first video of Ooty-Coonoor trip. We did an amazing trek in Ooty on our last day of the trip. Total trek is of approx 30-40 minutes. Starting point is near the Shivalinga Temple on the main road. The difficulty level of the trek is easy but it has few slippery patches in between. If you want to have a beautiful panoramic view of Ooty then do visit this place. The view point is of 15-20 minutes hike from Etha Temple. You will find few natural water springs on the way. Free Diving in Laguna is one of the most magical places I've experienced in California. It's cold - but worth it! We return to Bodrum (from our visit to the Gobekli Tepe on the Turkey/Syrian border - see Ep:048) to find our boat dragging.. and we collide with a Turkish gullet which destroys some of our rigging! Undeterred we head off inland yet again to the Roman city of Ephesus (a UNESCO World Heritage Site) and on to Izmir to visit some new friends, where we enjoying some kite surfing and a traditional Turkish breakfast - yum! While waiting for another meltemi to pass through, we *enjoy* our noisy Bodrum anchorage, do a final shop, replace our damaged rigging then finally check out of Turkey altogether. Today we’re climbing one of the tallest mountains on the island for an epic view and we get sucked down the rabbit hole on the legendary Mt. Raemaru. One day I ran out of cash at a cafe and the lady behind the counter loaned me her scooter to go to the ATM. That would never happen in the USA. Then we met Dion & Marcelle. They made it their personal mission to make sure we had a killer time on their island. After a full tour of Raro, Marcelle took us to her favorite cafe for coffee and brunch then she gave us her car!!! Yea. Crazy right?!? First big adventure she told us to: Hike the legendary Raemaru trek up the mountain. The most famous mountain in all of the Cook Islands. It’s the first real trail we’ve seen since Mt. Quilotoa in Ecuador (watch it here: https://www.gonewiththewynns.com/epic-volcano-hiking-ecuador), and it’s definitely the most interactive trail we’ve ever hiked. From the QR code signs, to the hunt for red passion fruit and guava, and the rope assisted vertical ascent to the top…this hike is LEGIT! We met in the summer 2015, we were introduced to each other by the virtual world. Eighteen months later we were getting married on a beautiful beach on Barbados, bare foot, very simple ceremony just like a dream! Two days after the wedding laying on the beach, talking about sailing, Carla suggested... why don't we sail around the world? Guess what Simon said? "Let's do it" He took it with no second thoughts! And here we are, two years after that day in Barbados, we started our adventure in Croatia.  We made it happen working through all the challenges on the way.  Now we are enjoying this wonderful life, and what a wonderful life it is! As we travel we will cross less fortunate countries, we would love to help to build a school or a health care centre, anything that these people may need, and in our beautiful world this is taken for granted. Sailing Coco This week we head towards Milos but get stuck with sudden forecasted Meltemi winds!! We had no idea that bad winds hit all the Aegean Islands throughout summer! Not only do we call all Marinas across different Islands to pull into, when we think we finally found a spot, we realise we sailed to the wrong Island!! By the time we arrive to the wrong Marina, the winds had already started and our gearbox decided to give up on us! We lost control of the boat trying to get in the birth and the little Marina was like no other we had ever been to before... ZERO help!! Usually we dislike the help in Marinas as Ceylan finds someone watching a little off-putting! However, the one time we needed help...there was none there! We managed to get in the space but hadn't put our anchor down as there were no slime lines to secure onto! We decided to leave the space and moor up on the outside! As we tried getting alongside, the wind and waves pushed us violently towards the stoney wall which scratched the side of our boat and popped a fender!! Despite putting ALL our fenders on that side the boat still kept touching the wall and we knew we were going to have to more AGAIN! So the nightmare continued and we tried squeezing onto a small space on the other side of the wall, this time the elements were pushing the boat away from the wall and Ceylan couldn't pull both sides of the boat in. When she pulled one side in the other one went out. We decided to try and turn around and start again when the gearbox failed and we could only control the boat with one rope thrown to the pontoon! All other boats came out with their fenders as we had no control over the boat and it truly was a NIGHTMARE. Luckily a local fisherman came out to help as did other sailors near by and together we manage to secure the boat to the pontoon and we finally breathe a sigh of relief. Alfie goes around the boats handing out beers to say thanks and we leave the boat in a local guy called Adonis's trusted hands...we hope! We leave the boat in Serifos and carry on with our plans to visit Milos and later Crete, then England for a wedding! Das Projekt mit Gregor geht weiter. Er möchte in seinem Leben einen anderen Weg einschlagen und ein großes Segelboot kaufen, mit dem er um die Welt segeln kann. Wir unterstützen ihn dabei, diesen Traum endlich umzusetzen und besichtigen mit ihm nun das zweite Schiff, das er als Favorit ausgewählt hat. Wir fliegen also nach Izola in Slovenien, denn da liegt ein Schiff, das von den Kriterien her zu 100% passen würde. Es ist tatsächlich gar nicht einfach, ein Schiff mit seinen Anforderungen zu finden. Denn es soll ein Decksalon Schiff sein mit viel Platz und im Idealfall auch noch Aluminium - das aber für einen Preis von unter 120.000 €. Das letzte 14m Segelboot auf Film #8 (https://bit.ly/35WQHrY) war ihm im Endeffekt zu klein. Deshalb sind wir jetzt nochmal eine Nummer größer, allerdings wird das Segelschiff keinen Schönheitspreis gewinnen. Worum es sich genau handelt, das gibt es im Video! Viel Spaß damit!
