In this episode you get an in depth look at the issues we have been facing with our hurricane damaged catamaran (2012 Lagoon 450). What appears to be fairly minor surface damage turns out to be rotten, wet, balsa core, and it ALL has to come out. You can see the heat exhaustion and frustration kick in as the problems get worse and worse. But we will not give up, we will keep soldiering on, and Parlay will go back in the water revived, ready to sail around the world. You can't always see the beauty each country has to offer by staying close to shore. Sometimes the best things are just a little further inland. While the boat sits in a marina in Ålesund, Norway, we rent a car for the day to explore the mountains, waterfalls, and an epic winding road. While we only had the one planned stop of Trollstiger Road, which winds down a mountain with 11 hairpin turns and a waterfall rushing through it...we also came across a lot of unexpected beauty. Долго собирался доделать видео с подъема Манюшки на Ланцероте. В итоге понял, что не доделаю. Поэтому выложу в том виде, на котором остановился 🙂 Мы уже третий раз поднимаемся в Арресифе. Здесь самый подходящий кран для нашего размера - 900 тонн. И удобно - рядом аж четыре огромных яхтенных магазина, больше, чем в любом другом месте. Так же, как и куча всевозможных сервисов. И по моторам и по такелажу и по корпусу и по металлам. На самом деле лучшее место на Канарах для ремонта или подготовки лодки к Атлантике. Тот же Лас Пальмас просто отдыхает по сервису. Когда мы первый раз сюда пришли, марина только-только открылась. Вся такая пафосная была - куча бутиков, крутых ресторанов, большой бассейн, детские залы. Даже был огромный футкорт с кухнями разных стран мира. Но при этом стояла совершенно пустая. А сейчас в марине ни одного свободного места нет. Но фудкорт открывают только когда туристический лайнер приходит. И часть бутиков закрылась. Энтропия, однако 🙂

20th October 2019. The Great Adventures Green Island Swim is a community event and is supported by Surf Life Saving North Queensland and the Cairns Crocs. This unique Great Barrier Reef competition takes place on the leeward side of the island with each leg of the event offering a variety of conditions from shallows to wind chop and tidal flow. Water temperatures around this time of year average 24 degrees with air temperatures around 28 degrees.

Season 5 Episode 92 - Sailing from Port Townsend to Neah Bay On this weeks episode we set off with high hopes of getting some sea miles behind us. The Auto pilot returned to its previous behavior and before long it was joined by an engine alarm as we began to beat into building seas near to Cape Flattery. Oh yes and then there was the fun task of hand scooping out the bilge which was full of a mixture of diesel fuel and water making all of the sleeping quarters almost unbearable to be in due to the fumes.... The captain made the right call for us to turn back and head for the last safe port before the Cape: Neah Bay, Washington. OUR BOAT is a Ferrari red Outremer 51 performance cruising catamaran. We chose this boat as it has been specifically designed for the purpose of bluewater sailing. It was designed and built to withstand the stress of sailing multiple times around the world safely and in comfort. It's also a speed demon, which is important when you want to cover large distances of water before the weather changes. Lastly, it's backed by the manufacturer with outstanding customer service and aftermarket support, so we believe she will hold her value well. And, she's nice on the eyes too. OUR ROUTE has taken us from the Boston/Cape Cod area of the United States down to the Caribbean and then on to the Panama Canal. At the time of posting this we are dealing with a repair in the South Pacific, and in 2020 we hope to be in New Zealand and Southeast Asia. By 2021 we will be in the Med and close to completing our circumnavigation. This boat is WEIRD, but in a good way. All of the Dragonfly Trimarans are very unique in that they're extremely fast and portable, albeit a little pricey. The folding floats allow these boats to fit into a normal slip and be trailered. They can also top out at around 25 knots under sail! O guincho me deu um baile nesta semana. Fui informado para trocar o óleo, como se fosse um óleo de rabeta, tem dois "tambores", mas são parafusos direcionadores das engrenagens internas do guincho, portanto nada de óleo. Criei coragem e desmontei todo, lavei com gasolina todas as peças e apliquei bastante graxa azul. Ficou excelente! Fiz também a colocação da porta do WC da suíte e transferia cozinha para o casco de bombordo!
