The ILIKÉ was built on Sulawesi in Bira in 2010 in the traditional Indonesian way. The hull is made of ironwood and the body is teak. MSY Ilike hosts a total of 14 guests in 7 cabins that are fully air-conditioned with ensuite bathroom with hot water shower, toilet and sink. Indonesian and International meals will be served in the spacious saloon with open kitchen, or in the outdoor sitting area at the stern of the boat, well protected from wind while sailing. The comfortable dive deck in front of the boat is one of the most spacious on Indonesian liveaboards. As a diver you can choose to dive on Air or Nitrox from our membrane Nitrox compressor. Between dives you are invited to catch some sun on our sun deck, where you will also enjoy spectacular sunsets, sipping a cool drink! The yacht is powered by 2 x 320HP marine engines, allowing us to cruise at an average speed of 10 knots across Indonesia. We schedule top diving destinations like Komodo, Alor, Maluku/Banda Sea, Triton Bay, Raja Ampat and Cenderawasih Bay. Rich marine life, healthy corals and stunning landscapes may soon become your memories after a stay on board of MSY Ilike. We look forward to welcome you on board!
This is my first time back to the Valiant 40 since the sea trial. My friend, Patrick, and I fly down to La Paz, BCS, Mexico for a mini shakedown cruise to further inspect and test the Valiant 40. Our plans to anchor on the islands are dampened with an inbound tropical depression. Overall, Keeldragger V checks out. However, we do encounter a couple of minor issues. Sailing Fiji Village Life Vanua Balavu Enjoying our videos? Support our journey here: https://ko-fi.com/sailingdoubletrouble 🇫🇯Check out our 2019 Fiji sailing adventures: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLacqWJRU8GXstUJ3OdJ_UiImX2hzQV4JW Village Life - Sevusevu 101- Exploring Vanua Balavu. After a slow sail from the top of Taveuni Island, we arrive in Vanua Balavu in the northern Lau group. This is the first time that we offer our Sevusevu in a ceremony to the chief of the local village. The Ceremony - Significant and ancient in Fiji, the “sevusevu” also marks the time and place for visitors to seek acceptance into a Fijian village. A bundle of Yaqona or Kava is appropriate offering When you arrive at a village, you should ask for the ‘Turaga ni Koro’ who is the appointed village headman. It is his duty to greet you and ascertain your intentions before presenting you and your gift to his chiefs and village elder. Everyone participating in the ceremony should be dressed accordingly in a sulu. Women are also expected to have their shoulders covered and items like hats and sunglasses should be removed from your head. You will be shown to the Chiefs house or Village hall and sit a woven mat on the floor. Men should sit cross-legged (ensuring the sulu covers your knees) while women sit with knees and feet together, resting on the floor to whichever side is most comfortable. Silence at this point is the key. The Turaga ni Koro will approach the Chief on his knees to place your bundle of yaqona in front of him, staying low as he does so. He will cobo three times, which in Fijian culture means, “I am about to speak, thank you for listening while I do”. He will then begin reciting the traditional monologue, which differs slightly throughout Fiji, but essentially means the same thing. This will end with a chant, coupled with three more cobos that indicate they have completed their introduction. The Chiefs ‘herald’ – or second in command, will officially accept the yaqona on behalf of the chief with three cobos to announce the beginning and end of his speech. In a formal yaqona ceremony, authority is given by the village spokesman to begin mixing the yaqona. In this instance we usually just handed over our Kava. Once done, we are given permission to spend time exploring Daliconi village and its surrounds. We take the local bus across the island and manage to score some fresh provisions and briefly hook in to some data before heading back across the island. We chat with Sera and have a go at some coconut husking while discussing the benefits of the 'tree of life'.( Moringa Tree) Footage from July 2019 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ ☕️ Want to Buy us a Coffee? We are Jo and Rob and we are here to share our sailing adventures with you. In 2016, inspired by the likes of ‘Delos’, ‘Sailing La Vagabonde’ and ‘Gone with The Wynns’, we sold up everything we owned and bought our 40ft, Fountaine Pajot ‘Lipari 41 Evo’ sailing catamaran ‘Double Trouble’. We had no sailing experience whatsoever, so the past few years have been a huge learning curve. We thought it might be fun to document our travels for anyone thinking of following a similar lifestyle. So far we have visited 7 different countries and sailed over 13,000 nautical miles. We have had many unique experiences that would not have been possible in our prior life and we don’t regret a second. We're both super keen on protecting our precious environment, so amongst other things, we both follow a plant based diet. You wont find any fishing footage on this channel! We continue our journey through the shallow channels of the Brisbane area and Moreton Bay. It’s a bit scary going under our first power line and not knowing if Nutshell will actually fit! We get new mud crab nets and are eager to put down the pots and catch dinner! We run out of cheese, so Magnus makes a batch of ricotta in the galley. We head out into the middle of Moreton Bay ready for a spot of fishing. If you would like a free and easy way to support our vlogs, then please simply subscribe. SCARY TIMES AT ANCHOR | CHAOS UNFOLDS around us with Torn Headsails and Dragging Boats In this episode of Sailing Zephyr it is storm after storm at anchor. We aren’t able to move due to pressure systems continually circling the island. The only thing left to do...Ride out the storms! We soon realise that storms at anchor aren’t much fun and we start to feel run down and pretty moody due to lack of sleep but still try to enjoy the experience and learn as much from it as we can. It really starts to get scary out there when boats start dragging anchor our way in the middle of the night. Watch the aftermath of some of the boats around us. This discussion is centered around the cost effectiveness of solar panels and lithium batteries, mounting of your panels, and many other FAQ's listed below: Are solar panels cost effective? How have prices for solar decreased since we first installed them? Are Lithium batteries cost effective? What wire gauge should you use for a solar charge controller? Pro’s and Cons for a solar arch? Can we run our dive compressor and water maker off solar and an inverter? How much more power do we use on Delos than a “normal” cruising boat? Is a Hybrid Electric drive a real option for a Bluewater cruising boat? What would it take to get rid of a diesel generator? How big is our fridge and freezer compared to a house? How much does our entire arch and solar panel setup weigh? And YOU could be sailing SY Esper: http://followtheboat.com/ftbmates/ We had checked out of Indonesia two weeks ago from Pulau Belitung, so it was about time to leave. But before checking into Malaysia’s southernmost Port of Entry at Pengileh, we had to cross the Singapore Strait. Billed as the ‘busiest shipping lane in the world’ (although those of us who have sailed across the English Channel might disagree) we weren’t looking forward to dodging between the behemoths in this narrow channel. Those bulk carriers, containers, tankers and passenger ships push through in fast and relentless caravans from east to west and west to east. We were heading south to north. In addition to the motorway traffic, tugs and barges slowly skirt the edges of the lanes at their own angle, while ferries cross-cross the waters between Sumatra, Singapore and the Malaysian peninsular. And then there are the tiny Indonesian fishing skiffs which sit in the slim buffer zone between channels. To make this a smooth operation, you need to use every navigation system at your disposal. The day starts well as we wake up to a beautiful view! However, while attempting to move the boat to a marina we realize our starboard engine has DIED and docking with one engine and the strong trade winds blowing is a little stressful! We officially clear customs and are ready to explore Grenada and are excited to spend hurricane season here. Do you want your very own Tula gear? This is part 2 of the 3 part series of our sailing adventures to Belize. On this episode of WE|Sail, we find ourselves hosting the sails and heading south through our first atoll. We end up zigging and zagging through this uncharted reef off the coast of Mexico and Belize. It was some great sailing paired with some sketchy moments trying to navigate through a maze of coral reef heads. We finally reach then end of the atoll just in time to anchor for a passing squall. WE hope you enjoy this episode. Make sure you SUBSCRIBE so you can get the newest episode updates of the Adventures of WE! Thanks for watching! Consider being our PATREON. www.patreon.com/WEsail

We arrive in Las Palmas and welcome Robert and Patrizia aboard. Robert gives an extensive tour of the exterior and interior of the boat. Matthieu Rougevin-Baville from Outremer visits to show the boat to a client, and we highlight our galley and induction cooking. We attend a costume party and a few pictures are inserted for fun!

This video is of the haul out of my Albin Vega Sailboat for the winter.
This week on sailing Kawai, we make an early start in an effort to get to the Diros Caves. We manage to get there right on opening and find an easy place to anchor in a large bay with a lot of sand and close to the entrance of the caves. It is a simple 2 minute tender trip to the shore before our mind is blown with this natural wonder. We take a boat ride through the underground caves, which is eerie but magical. If you visit the southern Peloponnese this is a must see and we'd recommend reading a bit about the history before venturing inside as the guide/boat driver only spoke in Greek. With 45nm still to sail we quickly get back on board. The landscape changes almost immediately and we can tell we are on the way to the Cyclades with a more barren and rocky outlook. We pass the middle cape of the 3 in Southern Peloponnese, Cape Tainaron, before anchoring in the dark at Elafonisi a popular anchorage for sailors waiting to pass the notorious cape Maleas. Luckily we timed our transit around the final cape, Cape Maleas well and it is an easy motor sail past it. Trace waves to the monks at the Hermitage and we are fortunate to get some wind early on our way to Milos and we enjoy some good sailing. Jase catches 2 tuna within 10 minutes of putting out his new lure, unfortunately they are again a little too small and we choose to return them to allow them to make baby tuna. We witness another magical sunset over the water as the horizon is blurred, day turns to night and we continue onwards to our anchorage in Milos. We cannot wait to share our next adventure with you when we arrive in Milos and explore some of the most unique and diverse beaches we have ever seen. About us: Our names are Jason and Tracey and we traded our house, cars, business, job and security for freedom, adventure, travel and living simply amongst nature and the seas on our 45 foot Hanse 445 sailing boat, Kawai. We don't know exactly where the winds will take us at this stage but over the next year we hope to sail to Turkey, Greece, Montenegro, Croatia. Jase loves making travel videos and we decided to upload to youtube to share our adventure. We really hope you enjoy and feel free to drop us a comment any time to chat or subscribe to follow along :) Instagram Jason: https://www.instagram.com/jase_stephe... WERDE TEIL DER CREW - also dran bleiben und Abo-Button klicken, Klingel anstellen 🤙🏼

We travel across Serbia in all of three hours and then travel through Romania before crossing into Bulgaria. We visit Bucharest and then make our way to the Greek border crossing. We are a family of six who are taking some time out of normal life to travel. We’ve pulled the kids from school and are home schooling while on the road and the water. We spend time aboard our 34ft sailing boat in NZ and have bought a camper in Europe so as to tour the other side of the world. We’re keeping our memories on video here and the kids write narration and play guitars so we have music to use in the videos.
You don’t have to be the strongest swimmer to enjoy scuba diving, but working on your fin kicking technique can definitely make the experience more enjoyable! You may not have spent much time on this during your courses with scuba instructors, but fin kicking technique should be on your list of scuba skills to practice. In this video, you will find pointers on how to properly flutter kick and frog kick (including a little trick for turning on a dime!) Although seeing it done and getting pointers are helpful in understanding this scuba skill, the best thing you can do is go diving and practice! Learn both fin kicking techniques and then decide which one works best for your body (be aware of the strain on your knees, especially with the frog kick!) Both of these have their purpose underwater so take some time to really practice and fine-tune them. What other scuba skills do you want to learn about? What do you need tips on? Let us know in the comments below! Come diving with us in Komodo National Park, Indonesia! https://azulunlimited.com/ Find us on Instagram and Facebook: Azul Unlimited
