Epic trip on the Gaia Love from Kaimana to Sorong. Whale shark action under the Bagan, an Indonesian fishery platform. The soft corals in Triton Bay are out of this world. We saw many Mantas - Oceanic, Reef and Black Morphs. The reefs in Raja are still teeming with life. The masses of fish were unbelievable. The team of the Gaia Love was outstanding, the guides Non6, Deedy, Ali, Roy spotted every Pygmy Seahorse, Frogfish , Flamboyant Cuttlefish and other critters you can imagine. Thanks to the best cruise directors on the planet, Gerry and Giles for this trip of a lifetime. The trip was well organized by Beluga Reisen and Cassandra Dragon. Special thanks to my fellow divers Todd, Lee, Sandra and Yvonne for their patience with me. I used Panasonic GH5 in Sealux housing. Lenses Panasonic 7-14, 12-35 in various ports. Our dive trip to the "Last Place on Earth" - Raja Ampat in December of 2019. It was an incredible dive trip with awesome people and an amazing crew and dive team. Diving from the Dewi Nusantara is truly the most luxurious and comfortable way to dive one of the best diving destinations of the world. We saw so many schools of fish, manta rays, eagle rays, bumphead parrotfish, sea turtles, black tip sharks, the wobbegong shark, a bamboo shark, flamboyant cuttlefish, batfish, so many different groupers, schooling jacks and barracuda, pygmy seahorses, and so much more. Next time we will bring more logbooks! Thank you to everyone who made this trip possible and thank you too all who joined us! Thank you Simone for putting together this video for us!
Matt Andrews started sailing on Moreton Bay with his dad as an 8 year old in the 1970’s on a Mirror dinghy followed by a 125, before moving to Balmain in Sydney and buying a Sabot before making the jump, as a 15 year old, to 16 foot skiffs. He then left school and started sail making in Sydney before moving to Denmark and talking his way into a job with North Sails and eventually making sails for 100 foot yachts. Norths moved Matt to Spain, which opened up the opportunity to make sails for the Telefonica Volvo 70 campaign, before moving to the Americas Cup sail loft in Valencia in 2007. A chance introduction with an Emirates Team NZ (ETNZ) member, led to Matt being employed by ETNZ a year later. Matt shares first hand lessons about kiwi creativity, resourcefulness and leadership he learned from his time at ETNZ. This led to his next campaign as sail maker with Ken Read’s Puma Volvo Campaign in 2008/9 and then Telefonica Team in 2011/12. Matt reflects on his time, incredible career, sailing lessons and his recent change of role to father, sail loft owner and dinghy sailor on the Tweed River in New South Wales, Australia. David Hows shares his race experience from the inaugural 530nm yacht race from Brisbane to Hamilton Island up Australia's east coast. This unlikely tale of a 27 year old Beneteau 45 foot yacht named Ocean Gem and a rookie crew is an example of preparation, determination and seat of the pants sailing to take out the 1st place on both IRC and PHS in Division 2 and finish 7th overall in a fleet of 16, behind grand prix yachts; Wild Oats X and five TP 52's. This episode provides insights into the highs and lows of ocean racing and whats possible if you do the basics well, even when you are racing against superior yachts. In this episode I start by adjusting the position of some of the frames, and fairing them all on the inside. Then I cut and fit the scarph joins on the big 6-1/2” x 3” Angelique timbers. Along the way, I do a stress test on the 28’ long timbers by parking a vehicle over each end, and jacking up the middle with a 20 ton bottlejack. The chickens and Pancho the parrot lark around as usual. ---- To become a Patron - https://www.patreon.com/sampsonboatco To donate or support - http://sampsonboat.co.uk/support My Amazon Wishlist http://a.co/76y5IZP For sneaky previews of what’s going on in between Episodes, follow my FACEBOOK http://www.facebook.com/sampsonboatco and INSTAGRAM http://www.instagram.com/sampsonboatco. In this episode we explore the Greek town of Khalkis located within the Evia channel. Jen goes for a tour around the ancient Karababa Castle overlooking the town and finds some Greek ancient artifacts dating back over a thousand years. We later pass through the famous Khalkis bridge at midnight in some strong currents whilst overlooked by hundreds of tourists in this nightly parade! To pass through the bridge you first have to register with the Port Police and Harbour master. Each boat is then called through in turn, but it does become a free for all once the first boat goes! ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- If you found it informative or entertaining please give it a thumbs as it helps get YouTube to promote it outside of the existing subscribers. A huge THANK YOU to Stanley who was so kind to take me out in his little boat to give me a crash course in how to catch Salmon. This episode is all about meeting people during my travels. I am always amazed how many beautiful souls cross my wake. Wildlife and landscape are breathtaking, but often it's the people that make an even longer lasting impression. I am truly gratful for all the enriching encounters that have taught me so much about various aspects of life. But what fills my heart with joy even more is that meeting all these wonderful peopele in different parts of the world makes me believe in the kindness of human mankind. It shows me that people are good and it strenthens me to be kind and helpful to strangers to pass on the love. Thank you for that! On this episode of Sailing on a Whim, we finally leave the marina to start our cruising adventure. First stop? The Florida Keys! Lots of preparation have finally paid off and our sailing adventure truly begins. And we absolutely love it! This crazy adventure started in early 2018 as we started researching learning how to sail, buy a boat, outfit her, and take off for a life on the open seas. There has been a huge learning curve trying to make all of this happen and we want to share with you everything that we have learned and have some fun along the way. We are excited (and a little nervous!) to share this journey with you. Re-greasing your winches every year is something a lot of people don't get around to doing. It can be a chore to do especially if you're somewhere with bad weather in the off season. It is well worth doing however as it will make your expensive winch last must longer and work much better (having a pawl stick close can allow the winch to slip and be dangerous) We have Lewmar winches, but the procedure is very similar with other winches. There are other videos out there, but when I looked the only good ones I found were people dismantling new winches. Well I think you need to see a used winch stripped down to really see what you're up against which is why I made this video.
We’re in Valencia for a while now and it’s time to tackle boat projects. And that’s always fun because we take days to do the most basic things. Mind you, if you’re expecting some Delos grade information on how to mix your epoxy nope not here. You will not learn anything in this video, you’re basically just watching our futile efforts of getting the most simple things done. Although later in the video we have a major win getting an anode on the prop. Underwater boat jobs in November, sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do. That's just what happens when you wait too long to fix your boat! Stick around we need the watch time. -- SUBSCRIBE for WEEKLY SAILING videos! Six months ago we started our journey in Greece with little sailing experience, figuring things out as we go, not really knowing what we're doing. Our goal is to circumnavigate the world via the wind, always being surrounded by the ocean. Sailboat life is super different from land life and can be pretty rough at times. see the little things is the documentary of our endeavour of simplifying life, decelerating pace, and practicing mindfulness. On my latest trip to the extraordinary ICON shipyard I took a good look at the incredible 68m explorer yacht "Ragnar". The shipyard is making amazing progress, and although much of the finished cabinetry was under protective covering it was clear that the yacht will soon be ready for launch, sea trials, and then delivery to her owner!

Hi everyone! Well here it is....the long awaited trip to get Happy Together to the Carribean for a season of fun while continuing the shake down of our new yacht. We had an easy passage as you will see and it made for some interesting times with lots of fun. This is known as a "awful" trip to windward but with luck the cold fronts suppressed the trade winds on our nose and let us scoot southeast with ease. Once again we thank Chris Parker our weather router. He called us on a Sunday and said "Leave Tuesday for the best ride east" I was riding dirt bikes in Baja at the time so I hopped a jet home and we took off. We hope you enjoy this first part of that journey. Oh and Mike said some nice things about Lennie and I that I would have cut but he insisted he wanted to be heard....😁 www.svhappytogether.com Songs: "Sailing" by Leisure Cruise "Get Ready (Cover)" by Motor City Soul Detroit "Good Vibrations (MTV Rock n Jock Live)" by Marky Mark and the Funky Bunch "Moonlight Feels Right" by Starbuck "It's Easy" by Third Stage "Push It" by Salt n Pepa "Wake Me Up Before You Go (Cover)" by Anthony Callea

This elegant 23m motorboat is a new concept by Hoek Design for a chaseboat destined for a sailing superyacht. Key tasks are to get guests from ashore to the motheryacht in comfort and without having to sit in a tender under a sprayhood, serve as a diving platform and to accommodate extra crew or guests. The boat had to have a Pacific range meaning she is able to be powered by engines underway for 750 miles at cruising speed. The boat is designed with two 925 hp SCANIA engines to drive fixed propellers for a cruising speed of 15 knots and a top speed of 25 knots. The boat is built at Claasen Shipyards in the Netherlands.

Thanks so much for watching guys, your support means the world to us. If you enjoyed this video then LIKE and SUBSCRIBE - it really helps us out :) In this episode we check out Smugglers Cove (otherwise known as Shipwreck Beach) in Zante and continue sailing down the coast of Zakynthos in some tricky changing winds, till we get to Keri on the south coast. We don't stay long, as the anchorage is way too crowded for our liking! Instead we enjoy an impromptu sail over to the Peloponnese and it turns out to be our favourite sail of the season! SUPPORT US!
