At times we may look for a new challenge in sailing, and switching to a new class can be a way of achieving that. Getting that decision right takes thought and a bit of research. Will the class suit you? Are you the right weight? What boat should you get in that class? All questions which could decide where you make the right choice. -We head into Hammock Beach Marina for the week and it might just be one of the best marina stays we’ve ever had! From the moment we tied up, we were blown away by the amenities—both at the marina and at the incredible Hammock Beach Golf Resort & Spa.

GRACE - my WELSFORD 'Tread Lightly' yacht. There were loads of little scratches, rubs and nicks/bumps as well as some gravel rash and a bit of paint wear on the chines and bottom - from the trailer rollers. The hull was sanded, given 2 (or in some places 3) coats of primer/undercoat and 2x coats of Marine gloss enamel. Cabin exterior and both transoms were also sanded and have 4-6 coats of Goldspar varnish. Rub rails were removed, sanded, undercoated and have 2 coats of paint. Blue stripe was re-painted as were the letters for her name. Decks were given 2x coats of Don't Slip/Kiwi Grip, and new poly/foam deck padding was glued in the cockpit. Whew! It started with scratches, but Grace has 11 years of use under her belt - I'm happy!
