En segelbåts-lärdom jag önskar jag visste innan vi köpte vår båt ⛵️ Vi ligger i marinan i Le Marin på Martinique och jag tänker på en sak jag önskar att jag kollat upp lite bättre innan vi köpte båten… De där ynka centimetrarna över 15 meter. På vissa papper är vår båt över 15 meter. På andra är den under. Och det visar sig spela större roll än man kan tro. För i många marinor händer något vid just 15 meter, plötsligt räknas båten nästan som en “lyxbåt” prismässigt. Som tur är ligger vi inte så ofta i marina. Men när vi gör det… då märks det. Så ett tips till dig som letar segelbåt: Kolla inte bara på båten, kolla på pristrapporna i marinor, försäkringar och annat också. Ibland kan några centimeter göra stor skillnad. Har du råkat ut för någon sån där liten detalj som visade sig bli dyr senare? Berätta gärna! Kram ⛵️

Antigua Sailing Week 2026 kicked off with an idyllic Day 1, sending sailors on a light upwind beat from English Harbour's Windward Bay toward Green Island. Light northeasterly trades and gentle swells set the stage for the event's fresh four-day island circumnavigation format. ## Race Highlights Racers tackled a 9.6-mile course with swirling winds, delivering world-class tacking duels and camaraderie. Cruisers in the point-to-point rally savored steady breezes and sunny skies at their own pace. Everyone converged for a barefoot beach rendezvous, complete with swimming, sunset views, and beach barbecues. ## Green Island Vibes This unspoiled paradise offered pristine beaches, excellent snorkeling, and relaxed anchoring in safe moorings like Green Island South and Willikies. In this episode, we’re diving deep into a serious carbon fiber upgrade session. First up, we check out the tricky installation of a curved carbon-nomics panel into the cabin top (big shout out to Shane for getting that twisty piece in!). We’re sticking to our boat-building standard: if it’s black, it’s bonded with epoxy and carbon. Then we’re breaking down these incredible @C-TECH CT40 sail battens. In this episode of Sailing Doodles, we explore some of the most famous spots in Phang Nga Bay, Thailand. I’m currently lying a hull in the North Atlantic, around 500 miles offshore, with 45–50 knots over the deck and the boat settled as safely as she can be in these conditions. In this video, I talk through the decision to lie a hull — what it is, why I’ve chosen it here, and why I’m not using a para-anchor or a drogue in this particular situation. There’s no single “right” answer at sea, only the best decision you can make with the boat, the conditions, and the moment you’re in.
