This boat cruised from Northern Australia to the island of Tasmania and crossed such heavy seas on the way that the ocean claimed a $50k tender and swept it off the transom. But the boat and crew were just fine... The more I cruise around the world the more it becomes obvious to me that when the ocean gets sporty the size of your boat makes a huge difference to your comfort levels. It's not just that though... With today's technology a motor yacht of around 70ft can be managed as easily as a 50ft yacht from 15yrs ago. This is opening up a new level of comfort at sea, on anchor and for entertaining. For Aussies and Americans who I know like to owner operate their boats then this is about the max size you can realistically achieve without involving crew. A boat like this Clipper Cordova 70 is a literal luxury home on water with expansive views and ability to cruise at sensible speeds and enjoy amazing places like Tasmania no matter what Mother Nature has in store for you. This is the video of my reunion with my family in The Netherlands at Mark's surprise party at work. Mark's only wish for his 20-year work anniversary… was to be with me. But I've been solo sailing around the world for over 1,000 days. So his Xebia colleagues secretly flew me home as a surprise. No one knew — not even our son Sem. It felt like a real-life episode of 'All You Need Is Love' — with happy tears everywhere. I feel so blessed. Thank you, Xebia, for making this magic possible. ❤️

After months of work, trial and error, and a few unexpected setbacks, we finally finished building our own sail covers and stack packs for Arabella. What started as a winter project turned into a full deep dive into canvas work—designing, patterning, sewing, breaking the machine, waiting weeks for parts, and learning as we went. In this video, we walk through the entire process, the improvements we made over our old setup, and why doing it ourselves might have been one of the best upgrades we could make for the boat. From better drainage and durability to smarter line management and even integrated awnings, these new covers should completely change how Arabella looks and functions underway. It was a lot of work—but it might just have been worth it. -------------------------- Sign up for our email newsletter: http://eepurl.com/hn3Qyv Acorn to Arabella started as a wooden boat building project in Granby, Massachusetts. Steve began the journey as an amateur wooden boat builder crafting a 38' wooden sailboat in his backyard: designer William Atkin's Ingrid with a Stormy Petrel's gaff rig. These videos follow the journey from tree felling, to lumber milling, to lofting, to the lead keel pour and now sailing the boat—sharing details of the woodworking, carpentry, metal smithing, tool building, and tool maintenance that traditional wooden boats command. This ultimate DIY project continues beyond the boat shop, as Steve and crew travel and learn to cruise aboard the handmade wooden boat that they've built. Just kidding about all that, this channel is about a Siberian Laika named Akiva. -------------------------- If you are interested in supporting/helping here are a few ways: https://www.acorntoarabella.com/how-to-help Acorn to Arabella's wishlist: https://www.acorntoarabella.com/wishlistpriority TotalBoat supports A2A! Not everything on a yacht is replaced — so what is considered normal wear and tear? In this video, we take a closer look at how wear and tear is assessed throughout a yacht’s charter life, and what owners can expect at the end of the phase-out process. After multiple seasons and frequent charters, certain signs of use are natural. Our teams carefully evaluate the condition of each vessel, distinguishing between cosmetic aging and elements that require repair or replacement to maintain safety and performance. From interior finishes to exterior surfaces and equipment, this process ensures a fair and transparent approach when preparing the yacht for handover or its next stage. Understanding wear and tear is an important part of yacht ownership, helping set realistic expectations while ensuring the vessel remains reliable, well-maintained, and ready for continued use. #YachtManagement #YachtOwnership #BoatMaintenance #Sailing #CatamaranLife
Take a closer look at the systems that control anchoring and sailing performance — from the windlass to the sails. In this video, we focus on the inspection and maintenance of key deck equipment that plays a vital role in both safety and handling. The windlass, used for anchoring operations, is carefully tested to ensure smooth operation, proper load handling, and reliability when it matters most. At the same time, our teams inspect the sails to assess their condition after a full charter season. This includes checking for wear, damage, and overall performance to determine whether maintenance or replacement is required. Together, these systems are essential for safe manoeuvring, efficient sailing, and overall ease of use on board. As part of the phase-out process, all checks are carried out to ensure the yacht is fully operational and ready for its next journey — whether continuing in charter or transitioning to private use. #YachtManagement #BoatMaintenance #YachtOwnership #Sailing #CatamaranLife
Take a closer look at the inspection and maintenance of standing rigging — a critical component for both safety and sailing performance. In this video, we focus on how our teams monitor and maintain rigging systems, including cables, turnbuckles, chain plates, and mast fittings. These elements are essential to the structural integrity of the yacht and require regular attention throughout the season. Routine visual checks are carried out frequently, including after charters, to quickly identify any signs of wear or damage. During the winter maintenance period, rigging tension is carefully measured and adjusted using specialized tools to ensure optimal performance. In addition, independent professional inspections are conducted annually, often in line with insurance requirements, providing an extra level of verification and safety. As part of the phase-out process, a final detailed inspection ensures that all rigging is in proper condition — ready for safe sailing and the yacht’s next chapter. #YachtManagement #BoatMaintenance #YachtOwnership #Sailing #Rigging
Take a closer look at the safety equipment checks that ensure every yacht is fully compliant and ready for the sea. In this video, we focus on the inspection and maintenance of all onboard safety gear — a critical step in preparing a vessel for both charter operations and handover. Every winter, our teams carefully review inspection timelines and verify that all equipment meets regulatory requirements. From life jackets and life rafts to flares and signalling devices, each item is checked for condition, functionality, and expiry dates. Alongside this, we ensure that essential onboard inventory — including toolboxes, fog horns, and mast chairs — is complete and ready for use. Before any yacht is delivered at the end of its phase-out process, all safety equipment must be fully operational, compliant, and ready for immediate use at sea. This is how we ensure every vessel meets the highest standards of safety, reliability, and regulatory compliance. #YachtManagement #BoatSafety #YachtOwnership #BoatMaintenance #Sailing
Take a closer look at one of the most important systems on board — the batteries that power comfort and daily life on a yacht. In this video, we explore how battery systems are maintained and managed within a professional charter fleet to ensure a seamless onboard experience. From lighting and refrigeration to essential onboard equipment, reliable power is key to both comfort and safety. Our teams carry out annual battery testing during the winter maintenance period to monitor performance and anticipate any issues. Depending on the type of battery system — including gel or lithium — replacements are planned strategically throughout the yacht’s operational life. When needed, we replace the full battery pack rather than individual units, ensuring consistency across the system and maintaining optimal performance. This is a practical look at how proper battery management supports reliability, efficiency, and comfort on board every charter yacht. #YachtManagement #BoatMaintenance #YachtOwnership #MarineElectrics #Sailing
Step inside the engine room and discover the essential checks required to keep a marine engine running safely and reliably. In this video, we focus on the key elements of engine maintenance, highlighting the critical areas that technicians monitor to prevent issues and ensure smooth operation. From overall condition checks to detailed inspections of piping, electrical systems, and fluid levels, every step plays a role in keeping the vessel operational. You’ll see how corrosion is assessed across equipment, why properly secured hoses and clamps are essential, and how simple checks can prevent long-term damage. We also cover the importance of bilge pump condition, electrical connections, and monitoring engine and gearbox oil to detect potential problems early — including signs of seawater contamination. Whether you’re a yacht owner or interested in yacht maintenance, this video offers a clear, practical look at what it takes to maintain engine reliability at sea. #YachtManagement #BoatMaintenance #MarineEngine #YachtOwnership #Sailing
Go behind the scenes of yacht maintenance and discover what it takes to keep a charter vessel running safely and efficiently throughout the season. In this video, we focus on the essential inspections and technical checks carried out on board, ensuring every system is performing as it should. From engine monitoring to routine servicing, these processes are key to maintaining reliability across a busy charter schedule. You’ll see why the engine is considered one of the most important safety components, and how it is carefully checked before and after each charter. Alongside this, our teams follow structured maintenance routines and detailed checklists to make sure nothing is overlooked. While underwater work plays a role, this video highlights the broader picture — the ongoing care, coordination, and technical expertise required to keep a yacht fully operational and ready for every new departure. Whether you’re a yacht owner or interested in charter operations, this offers a practical insight into the standards behind professional yacht maintenance. #YachtManagement #BoatMaintenance #YachtOwnership #Sailing #CatamaranLife
Go behind the scenes of the yacht phase-out process and discover the meticulous technical standards applied to every vessel. In this video, we take a closer look at how each yacht is carefully inspected, maintained, and prepared to the highest standards — whether it’s returning to private ownership or getting ready for a new charter season. Every detail matters when it comes to ensuring performance, safety, and long-term reliability. From steering systems and propulsion to hull restoration and safety checks, our teams carry out a comprehensive review of all critical components. This includes rudder inspections, sail drive maintenance, propeller checks, and repairing gel coat imperfections to restore both function and appearance. We also highlight the importance of ongoing underwater inspections, creating full transparency and a detailed history of each yacht’s condition throughout the season. The result is a vessel that is technically sound, professionally maintained, and ready for the open sea. Whether you’re a yacht owner or interested in yacht management, this video offers valuable insight into the standards behind every phase-out. 49er and FX Fleets Sweden’s Vilma Bobeck & Ebba Berntsson mastered the conditions best, winning the first two races and finishing second in the last to jump into third and open a gap on those behind. Australia’s Laura Harding and Annie Wilmot continued their march up the leaderboard, hopping over Italy’s Sofia Giunchiglia & Giulia Schio, who could only finish nineteenth in the last race, but stayed second overall. As all others struggled, consistent excellence also rewarded France’s Erwan Fischer & Clément Péquin with the lead after they finished 3, 1, 2 in their three races to move ahead of Ireland’s Robert Dickson & Sean Waddilove. Erwan Fisdher & Clément Péquin (FRA) “We had three races in conditions between 16 and 18 knots, with quite a bit of chop. We’re really happy with how we sailed. Tomorrow, the final day of the qualifying rounds, the conditions will be very different again with a southwesterly wind, so we’ll have to adapt. The idea is to maintain a good mood, get good starts, and continue working on communication and the mental aspects. Winning a medal here is a goal. We love the Hyères sailing area; the wind is constantly changing, it’s really great. We’re determined to perform well here. The World Championships are in three weeks, the 49er fleet is strong, and the level of competition is exceptional. We know it won’t be easy to win a medal. But we have the opportunity, and we’re going to give it our all.” credits: Icarus and FFvoile

At Seawind, our primary goal is for "our owners to fall in love with their boats. We want people to appreciate and utilize every design feature, ensuring they are genuinely happy with the boat they have chosen for themselves and their families", as our Founder and CEO Richard Ward has emphasized. This philosophy is perfectly captured in the journey of Simon and Nicole, which began with the 1170 and now continues as they look toward the 1370. Their progression was not merely an upgrade in size but a process of building confidence on the water and discovering exactly what works for their lifestyle. What keeps them returning to the Seawind family is the unwavering consistency behind our designs and a familiarity that grows stronger with every mile and every decision. Trust like this is never immediate; it is built gradually through shared experience and a commitment to quality. #abayachting #fermimai #venditabarcheinesclusiva #onboard #brokernautico #compravenditabarche #nautica
Lagoon 47. The first piece of your dream. The best of Lagoon is coming soon, a new model designed to push the boundaries of sailing. Stay tuned! #Yourdreamdestination #lagooncatamarans #lagoon47 #comingsoon _______________________________________________________ CATAMARAN INNOVATORS SINCE 1984 Lagoon was formed in pursuit of connection – with ourselves, our loved ones and the world around us. By bringing the human experience to the 7 seas, we’ve been able to unleash an unbridled sense of curiosity and instinctual need for quality since 1984. Something we wouldn’t have accomplished without a collective passion for spectacular destinations and even better journeys getting there. As confirmed sailors, we all know that our boats have to be fast, comfortable and safe: seaworthy. We build them based on our love of the sea and the constant aim of good-quality work. We design them as if we were the future owners. As shipbuilders and sailors, it is part of our logic. After passing the Panama Canal we have to navigate the 850 nm to the Galapagos, in an area where you have to search or wind if you like to sail
The forward cockpit on the Nahoa M puts every line, every sail control, and the helm in one sheltered position — forward of the mast, under a hard bimini, protected from spray and weather. You can reef, trim, and steer without ever stepping onto an exposed deck. It's the single biggest quality-of-life change we've made in our next catamaran — and it came from real miles, not a drawing board. The Nahoa M is a 56ft aluminum expedition catamaran designed by Pierre Delion.

Lähdetään illalla Peloponnesoksen rannikkoa pitkin kohti pohjoista. Upean auringonlaskun kruunaa delfiiniparven leikki merellä. Yötä vietetään Porto Chelin laguunimaisessa lahdelmassa ja seuraavana päivänä saavutaan idylliseen Poroksen satamaan.
Hove to in the North Atlantic tonight. Wind up in the 45–50 knot range on deck, boat lying safely under bare poles about 500 miles offshore. This is one of those moments where you stop pushing, take stock, and let the boat do what it was designed to do. This short update is just a look inside Osprey while we ride it out — the sounds, the motion, and what it actually feels like to be out here in these conditions. Previous to this, was a full day of decisions: what to fix, what to leave, and whether to keep moving or not. This is the result of that — choosing to slow everything down and prioritize safety. Next video will walk through that process in detail — how we got here, what was going on with the sail, and why this was the right call. For now, this is the reality of it. Need More Mariner? ‘Nepenthe’ is a 2000 Catalina 320, listed exclusively for sale with YOTI on Sydney Harbour. https://www.yoti.com.au/listing/catalina-320-nepenthe The Catalina 320 is one of the most successful production cruising yachts ever built, renowned for its blend of comfort, practicality and dependable sailing performance. Designed with ease of handling and generous internal volume in mind, it’s no surprise these yachts remain so popular worldwide. Nepenthe is a great example, clearly well cared for by her prior and current owner. On deck, the cockpit is secure and well laid out for easy sailing. At anchor, it transforms into a spacious, inviting entertainment area. The sugar scoop transom allows effortless access to the water or dinghy, enhancing the boat’s cruising versatility. Equipped with lazy jacks, stack pack and a furling headsail, sail handling is straightforward and safe, with all controls led aft to the cockpit. The fully battened Dacron mainsail and furling genoa are both in very good condition. Stepping below, the Catalina 320 impresses with its remarkable sense of space. The well-designed two-cabin, one-head layout offers excellent accommodation for cruising, featuring a generous full-beam aft cabin, a functional U-shaped galley, a dedicated chart table, and a bright, open saloon. The table drops down to form an additional double berth. Warm timber finishes and ample natural light create a welcoming and comfortable interior. Well maintained throughout her life, Nepenthe benefits from consistent care, including annual antifouling last done in October 2025, and her 27hp Yanmar engine has just received a comprehensive service in April. For those seeking a proven, comfortable and easy-to-handle cruising yacht with timeless appeal, Nepenthe is an excellent opportunity. In this video I share the only 7 sailboats I believe truly survive 30+ years in saltwater without falling apart. I break down what makes them last, why most boats don’t, and which old-school designs I’d still trust today if I wanted strength, simplicity and real long-term value. 00:00 Intro 00:41 Hallberg-Rassy 352 02:41 Island Packet 35 04:50 Amel Super Maramu 06:42 Pacific Seacraft Dana 24 08:21 Hinckley Sou'wester 42 09:50 Valiant 42 11:24 Westsail 32 12:57 Ending Copyright Disclaimer This video may include copyrighted material used under the “fair use” principle for educational and informational purposes.
