分享我2年前买帆船的故事 2022年5月底的时候和孩子在海边玩，看见一艘白色的帆船从近处开过，我突然觉得很浪漫，也想试试。这个想法就突然间在我的大脑里面像种草一样，我开始看一些航海的视频，其中一个美国的一家3口环游世界的youtuber叫sv delos，另外一个是中国的韩船长，驾驶帆船环游世界，然后在亚丁湾跟中国海军通话，我也刚好有朋友住在海边，我去他家那边附近kayaking，顺便在海上仔细看了看帆船到底是什么样子的，到底多大的比较合适我。 因为听说帆船的技术要求比较高，所以还是先学一下比较好，我的计划是今年主要是学习技能为主，以后再慢慢弄一艘船来开，等孩子长大以后，上大学了，我就可以驾船环游世界了🤣。6月初我报名了一个学习驾驶帆船的课程，在纽约的port sailing school，是一个为期3天的ASA sailing课程。 种草的另一个特征就是我在网上看长岛这边的二手帆船，我其实只是想要了解一下情况，我随便找了一个seller打电话过去问，seller电话里面很耐心地就跟我介绍船的状态，是一艘1988年在奥地利生产的37尺的船，售价7w9千美元，我就随便开口问了一句这个船可以开到欧洲吗，我本来只是开玩笑，没想到seller很肯定地跟我说没有问题，我突然觉得这件事很有意思。但是因为已经有人要买了，所以就没有要去看了。我其实就是想去看看帆船到底什么样的，最好是卖家可以带我出海体验一下，如果我不喜欢的话，我就打消这个念头了。毕竟10多年前，我出海钓鱼吐的很惨，一直被老婆嘲笑很多年。 记得有一天周四，我在网上看见一艘船，在port washington，里我家很近，大概半小时的路程，这是一艘1987年的32尺的船，船主的描述里面列了一大堆东西，我其实也看不太懂，但是这艘船的价格只是15000美元，所以我就约了船主第二天去看看。第二天是哥哥的毕业典礼，我中文参加完以后都快忘了这件事了，突然看见seller的短信问我还要来看船吗，我才想起来，然后我就约好下午去看看，没想到最后这艘船真的被我买下来了。 我看船的时候，船是在陆地上面的，船主叫Sam，他先跟我介绍了一下船的状况，什么fiberglass材料，我其实什么都不懂，但是小哥sam人很nice，很有耐心的解释我的问题，看完船的外部结构以后，他带我从后面爬上船，去看上面的样子，Sam先是跟我解释了cockpit，就是驾驶舱，有一堆仪表盘，发动机开关，自动驾驶，风速表，水深度表，储藏室，船顶上面有太阳能板，然后我们去船的前面看帆的状况，因为船架在陆地上的高度其实有点高，我还有点害怕不小心掉下去，但是看sam很稳的样子，我也就没有说什么。之后Sam又带我进去看了船仓，从楼梯下去???后，先是带我看了下厨房，跟我说烤箱不能用了，但是炉子是好的，介绍了无线电等设施，然后带我看了下船头的v型床，上面又一个窗口可以打开透气，然后又介绍了一下沙发下面的水箱电池，又把楼梯下面的发动机打开让我看看，因为是老式的柴油发动机，关闭发动机是需要用手去推里面的一个指针，这个我还觉得挺惊讶的，再次跟他确认，他说之前的船主就是这样操作的，后来我才知道很多yanmar发动机都是伸手到发动机上面去关的。之后又介绍了抽水系统，如果有漏水会自动把水pump出去。sam去年是住在船上的，所以很有生活的气息，有电视，电风扇，煤油灯。厨具什么的，可以说是麻雀虽小，五张俱全，还有一个厕所，里面有马桶和淋浴的喷头，对了船上的马桶叫head😂。但是如果是用水箱里面的水洗澡，也就洗一两次就用完了。 之后是看船尾的一个房间，里面有一些柜子和一张床，我还特意爬到船尾的床上去躺一下，因为我的身高比较高，怕不够长，但是发现其实刚好，大概一个queen size的尺寸。所以虽然是买船，其实又有一点像买房子。Sam之所以会卖，是因为他又买了一艘稍微大一些的船，因为他计划从纽约开到佛罗里达，所以需要一个更为坚固耐用的船。因为Sam的新换的船就停在码头上，他就又带我去参观了一下他的那艘新买的船，我觉得这真的是一个全新的世界，我其实挺想买他那艘船的，但是因为我完全不会开，然后也不确定发动机能不能用，所以我就开玩笑跟他说，如果要买的话，你可以教会我开帆船吗，没想到他倒是很乐意。然后我就走了，第二天我短信告诉sam说我愿意买你的船，但我这是contigency offer，条件就是你要负责教会我单独驾驶这艘船，他说ok，然后我们就是约时间要下水测试一下，这一步叫sea trial，暂时约到2周以后。 看完船以后，我觉得价格完全没有问题，跟我10多年前来美国买的二手车价格差不多，我人生买的第一辆车，mazda 6，花了大概14000刀，3年以后我还卖了1万刀🤣。买这艘船就当是一个低成本的学习过程，因为上再多的理论课，看再多的youtube视频，也没有实际操作一下学的快。但是我也不想完全指望sam教我，所以我当时我联系了长岛这边有一家sailing school，在oyster bay的waterfront center，刚好有个私人教练的机会，我就报名了，只是2个小时的体验课程。上课当天早上还下过雨，我当时在想是不是要推迟这个课了，但是后来雨停了，还是照常出海，老天也真的要让我开启航海人生吧。这是我第一次驾驶帆船，是一艘22尺的sola sailboat，初学者常用的帆船，没有发动机，完全靠风力行驶，在教练的带领下，从登船，怎么升帆，然后取掉系泊线，掌舵在oyster bay里面用风力航行，变换方向等。教练其实只是大学生，只是从小在oyster bay长大，很早就学会帆船了，然后现在暑期兼职当教练，当你在和风向45度角的时候航行，船会侧倾，然后风吹在脸上的那种体验是非常棒的，2个小时的体验课让我彻底爱上了sailing这项运动，决心要把sam那艘船买下来今年好好练一下。 买船一个比较重要的支出就是停船，一种方式是停在码头的slip，类似停车场，费用比较高，另外一种方式就是mooring，类似街趴，就是把船停在港口的浮球旁边，下面有一个2顿重的矛把船固定住。因为我为了节省费用，就选择要停在海上的mooring spot，然后我就到处去跟各个marina打电话问mooring spot的情况，碰巧在port washington找到了一个比较僻静的小港湾。找mooring spot的故事也是挺有意思的经历，之后有空我再单独写一下。 在sea trial之前，我去参加了之前在port sailing school里面的帆船课程，期间有半天的理论课，一个法国大叔跟我和另外一个学员介绍帆船的理论背景，期间特别讲了一下空气动力学，让我想起N年前学过的物理课，里面有一个伯努利方程，在风吹过帆的时候所走过的正面和背面的通道不一样，所以会产生推力，类似飞机的机翼，所以帆船只要有风就可以航行，即使逆风也可以去你想去的地方，只是需要走z字型。法国人造飞机和船比较厉害，估计跟他们数学好有点关系。 天空作美，没有下雨，我们又上船实操了一艘22尺的sona sailboat，在港湾里做一些基本的操作，帆船里面最让人头疼的是术语，即使是英文母语的人也会一头雾水，船上每一个部位都有叫法，光是帆的不同部位名称就几十种。我们在港湾里面走8字型，重点练习了tacking和jibing，tacking是逆风的时候从风的一侧转到另一侧的时候，需要操作的技能，jibing是顺风的时候转方向时操作的技能，其中jibing是比较危险的操作，因为如果风大的时候，中间的boom，就是那根支撑帆的梁会从一侧滑倒另一侧，如果不小心，人如果站在中间会被撞到（所以那根棍子又叫boom😂），撞到落水就很危险了。在教练的带领下我们驾驶的小帆船还一度开到long island sound里面，实操用手机的gps看看四周的水域地图，留意要避开暗礁什么的。第一天上课的小哥也是大学生，第二天上课的好像是一个牧师，在海上还练习了一下man overboard，就是救落水的人的操作，教练把一个救生衣扔到海里，然后我们要转一圈回来把它捡起来。同时练习一种叫heaving to的模式，就是让主帆和舵成相反的方向，前帆固定在中间，这是一种让风力和船抵消的状态，是当暴风雨来的时候，如果来不及回到港口。就会需要调整的状态，这个时候船只会随着洋流漂浮，当然还有就是出海以后不想抛锚但是要吃饭也可以用。上完课以后还有一个笔试，考过以后就可以拿101的证了。 sea trial那天sam提前跟码头的人把船从陆地上移动到水里，然后我们就出海试开，我主要是确认一下发动机可以正常使用，然后帆能升起来什么的就好了，我其实完全不在意厨房和厕所能不能用。那天天气稍微有些风，sam演示了怎么用发动机离开码头，然后出了港口以后，我们用前帆和后帆驾驶，同时把发动机关掉，这样驾驶船非常安静，只会听见风吹的声音，船上还有个立体声音响，放上音乐，我说你真的挺会enjoy life的。sam又演示了怎么抛锚，一切都非常顺利，因为sam是海岸警卫队的，所以这些训练都是非常常规的。当时回程的时候，我就跟他确定了我要买这艘船，但是需要有一个条件，就是要负责教我开船，这个我会写到合同里面，他都没问题。 之后就是交易了，我自己写了一个买卖合同，里面主要写了我要求的contingency，协助我取得船的注册文件，保险，过户。教我使用前帆和主帆，练习泊船，学习使用无线电对讲机，加油，加水，和污水处理，最后一条毕业要求是8月的一天，sam作为协助和观察员，我单独驾驶帆船去纽约港绕一圈回来，然后才过户😂。买船其实很像买房子，有中介，要做survey（验船），搞不好还有律师，但是我们这个金额很小，所以都自己diy了。 最后讲讲帆船的相关知识，在海上，速度都是用knot这个单位，就是节，风速也是用节，船的速度只和船的长度有关，或者是排水量成正比，不是说发动机马力越高，船越快，那个是摩托艇，因为会离开水面。所以我这艘船是32尺，速度一般就是4到6节。所以越大的船速度越快，一些集装箱的大船，看着似乎很远，而且没在动，但是很快就会出现在你眼前，所以需要特别小心，游轮也是一样的。 我整个6月份都在折腾这个船的事情，我到现在也没想到为什么我会突然买了一艘船，然后开始航海人生，或者只是一个度假屋🤣 船的名字是Adventurous，就是冒险号，船的名字一旦命名就不能再改了，不然会走厄运，除非找法师做法，看看最后冒险号会把我带向何方吧。也许有一天我真的会去环球航海旅行吧，至少花一个月的时间从纽约开到加勒比海还是可行的 后记：这艘船和我最开始在海边看见的那艘是一个型号的，oday322，这个就是传说中的吸引力法则了吧

Solo sailor Erol kaptan Avara teknesi ile PredicktWind haber tahmin sitesine 3 aylık üyeliği de alınca üçlü saç ayağı tamamlanmış oldu. Her birine ayrı ayrı teşekkür ederiz. SW100X Garage is configured for launching/storing of 4.35m dinghy or a small utility vehicle or other voluminous toys. Tender is launched and retrieved with a removable davit and lazarette spaces are accessible via a centerline hatch. This innovative solution makes better usage of the aft deck and quickly folds away to retain the sporty lines of a performance sailing yacht. The system consists of twin rotary ultra-lightweight electric actuators (brushless) with an approximate power of 2kW @220VAC. The use of brushless electric motors ensures higher efficiency and lower maintenance. This system grants full redundancy owing to the twin motors and the possibility to disengage the motors to operate the system manually by means of an emergency crank handle.

However, after forgetting to close the sea water shutoff valve I completed melted the raw water cooling system on our generator. In this maintenance blog I strip down and completely rebuild the cooling system replacing the waterlock / muffler, impeller, exhaust and cooling water hoses. This week, we spent some quality time with the locals learning how to harvest giant clams, weave hats out of palm fronds, dance, and play the ukulele. 🏝️ We hosted friends for dinner, watched a fantastic sunset, and then made the best of a windy morning by running the watermaker and working on a new monitoring screen. 💻 The goal is to know when something is wrong with our watermaker and/or our generator before an alarm sounds or the systems shut down completely. We are always on a quest to perfect our preventative maintenance skills! That afternoon, we spotted four manta rays swimming right next to our boat. The unexpected time we spent in San Jose was amazing, and the people maintenance was much needed, but when we returned to Boundless, the change in weather was apparent. The temperature and humidity was noticeably lower, and because of this change in atmosphere, we saw our first squall before leaving Golfito Bay. We were lucky last week with our overnight to Quepos, successfully dodging a few small squalls, but with our 60 foot lightning rod of a mast, we knew that we needed to start making some serious miles North. Our goal is to hunker down in Chiapas Mexico for hurricane season, and we have about 650 nautical miles and 4 countries between us and there. Because of that, our time in Quepos was cut short. Linking up with Becka and Zach also adds a layer of comfort because of safety in numbers, especially with the kinds of storms we will unknowingly encounter in the near future. Back in Lewiston, Maine, Steve returns to the boathouse to assist with some last-minute work for the launch of schooner Hindu. There are very few boats along the Eastern Seaboard that have worked in the charter industry for as long as Hindu. The timing of her launch coincides with her 100th year on the water—pretty special! Josh Rowan, Erin Desmond, and the crew have spent the last 4 years in the boathouse working on Hindu, while also preserving her original spirit. Josh has been a sailor for quite some time, and fell in love with Hindu in the early 2000s. Years later, Josh and Erin took on the project of fully restoring the schooner to bring her back to the sea. After years of tireless work by the crew, it’s time to bring her back to work. Schooner Hindu gets a ride down the road to the boatyard, and Steve gets to work in the cockpit. The following day, she sets sail. Exhausted after 8 days at sea, we're ready to drop the hook, and luckily we know just the place.... 100s of miles from anywhere, in the middle of the south Pacific ocean there is a submerged atoll, and in that atoll there is a gorgeous lagoon, and in that lagoon there is a white sandy bank that (in the right weather conditions) is the perfect anchorage for tired sea farers looking for respite after a storm. The water is shallow and the holding is good, but there is nothing there...no stores, no houses, no land, no people...nothing but blue for as far as the eye can see. The reef offers little protection from weather or big swell, but those brave enough to venture there are rewarded with unbelievably clear water - arguably the clearest in the world! - and coral teeming with wild life that have little fear humans...which, it turns out, is great for fishing, but not so good when it comes to sharks.... So, we created "Odd Life Crafting", a project composed of many smaller projects that we call seasons. The first one was the creation of Odd Life Crafting. The idea was to build a metal boat to be able to travel the world taking our house with us, but we didn't have money for that. So, we started the next season: we built a tiny shipping container house with no prior experience in building to gain some skills to build a boat. When we were almost finished we found a boat 700km away from our hometown that was neglected for over 22 years and we spent 2 years refitting her (Season 3). On the season 4 we sailed for 2 years (exploring the Brazilian coast and part of the Caribbean), we sold our boat and we moved to Europe. The last season we are starting to build a new aluminum 43ft sailboat and a new life. We hope to inspire others to follow their dreams. After Shaima arrived from its Pacific "Milk Run Crossing" in October 2022 we left her in Opua Bay of Islands Marina and went back home. In December we flew back to New Zealand to cruise and tour the North Island. We stopped in several offshore islands between Opua and Auckland returning following the Coast North up to Wangarei where we hauled out Shaima for her anual maintenance/refit. We were amazed on how many beautiful places we visited, including Bay of Islands smaller islands, Poor Nights, The Mokes, Great Barrier Island, Coromandel Peninsula, Waikehe, and on our return Matangi and Kawau Islands. The wildlife was also impressive, the water cristal clear and the villages both beautiful and historic. From Auckland we rented a car and went to Rotorua visiting lots places and natural sites along de way. Most of this we shared with our youngest daughter and her husband who were in the start of our honeymoon. We were so pleased that they wanted to share the start of their honeymoon with us!
