"I believe you are the bravest, most courageous cruisers: adventuring across the world and below the sea, anchoring alone in coves, traveling up rivers by inflatable, enduring lightning, hiking with a broken foot, becoming infected with parasites from walking barefoot on the beach, sailing in Beaufort scale gales, traveling at night in shipping lanes and on and on... We love a good challenge, but totally UNDERESTIMATED what we signed up for when we purchased this run-down Airstream trailer with the vision to convert it into our DREAM tiny home on wheels! 🚌 With a recent eviction notice, we had just 60 days to make this Airstream tiny home move-in-ready ⏲ Join James this episode as he crushes some solo projects, including the dreaded toilet takeout, followed by 22 HOURS OF CONTINUOUS SANDING! 😅 (the 2 minutes we've edited into this video does not do the enormity of this task justice). WHAT A SAINT! 🙏 No joke. It took 3 whole days to sand 53 years of paint and crud off of the Airstream's interior, a necessary step to ensure that new primer & paint would stick to the vinyl wraps (the plastic coating also known as the 'skins' which line the Airstream's interior walls). We had done our research and we were familiar with the first steps involved in restoring an old airstream trailer: Demolition - Cleaning - Sanding - Priming - Painting - all before we could get started with rebuilding! Airstream-reno guru's will tell you that a 'full' Airstream restoration would have looked like us taking 'the skins' off, but as we explain in this episode that just wasn't an option for us this time around. We just didn't have the time or the space to complete that sort of restoration. We made it work! Using the existing holes in the walls we could thread new electrical underneath the vinyl wraps so that we could actually have an outlet in the wall! 🔌Brilliant?! After a long work week, I join James later in the episode to tag team the rest of our tiny home to-do list (new sub-floor, paint scraping, patching), before finally transforming the Airstream with a beautiful coat of white paint! 🖌 AND I learn how to use a new tool!! Rivet Gun anyone?! Turns out this tool requires some serrrious hand strength ✋ Come along for the rest of the journey as we share the entire process of this Airstream tiny home build as the first series on our YouTube channel! SUBSCRIBE! ► for a new video every single Wednesday https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCUsg... If you're into outdoor adventures, tiny homes (on wheels & with sails), off-grid living and DIY projects, then you'll want to click that notification bell & follow along ;) 👫WHO WE ARE We are a couple from opposite sides of the world making life together in a teeny-tiny 160 square feet. Our current tiny home is a vintage Airstream trailer nestled in the woods here in the Canadian Pacific Northwest! We like to call her Streamy, our adventure basecamp! Sounds dreamy right? Well let us tell you that it isn't as easy as it looks & the process of building our dream tiny home on wheels (in just 60 days) was freaking hard!!! When we're not enduring these self-imposed suffer-fests (i.e. our DIY projects & long grueling hikes up mountainsides) you'll find us out on the ocean, living and sailing around the PNW on our little sailboat. She's a Catalina 30 and we've been enjoying the challenge of restoring her & teaching ourselves how to sail! ⛵ OUR STORY https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vt8aijVtK_E I (Allison, the Newfie) met James (the Aussie) while working on a remote island 3 years ago. A decade working in healthcare has helped us both to appreciate the preciousness of this one beautiful life we've been given. Viewing TIME as our most valuable gift, we've been feeling an urgency in our lives to Live All Out! We decided to make some BOLD moves, hit PAUSE on our conventional careers & work full time, turning our DREAMS into reality. This is the beginning of our YouTube journey & over the next few weeks we will be sharing our first steps towards making full-time adventure possible. We'll be posting weekly videos that document our DIY projects, tiny-home living & our land & sea adventures. WHY WASN'T THERE AN EPISODE LAST WEEK ? Well there wasn't a "last weeks episode" , as it was to cold for us to work outside and the epoxy we are using requires a minimum temperature of 15 degrees, so we took a break from boat jobs and filming and literally "chilled out"! Now the sun is back and we have ventured out of our little cocoon and back into the boat jobs, you will however be pleased to know that in the next couple of weeks will be leaving Meganisi and heading back to the Aegean - Heres hoping there is #NoMoreSnow Enjoy the video - Please leave your comments - we love hearing from you If you enjoy our content and find it informative or mildly amusing and feel you would like to support the making of our videos to “BUY US A COFFEE” please use a the link below and we will give you a shout out in future vlogs. In our other "how to spray gelcoat" video I really didn't focus a lot on the equipment or on the spraying process. I heard all of you! This video focuses ONLY on the spray gun, and the application of the gelcoat. I teach you what to look for when spraying, how to adjust the spray, and how to apply it to the surface you're coating. This spray gun was bought on amazon, and only cost me about 35$ (at the time). Ive been spraying gelcoat with this gun for about 2 years now. It hasn't failed me yet. If you'd like to see the other video it is in a playlist. The link for the spray gun is below if you'd like to try it. My #totalboat discount code is also at the end of this description. If you are thinking about spraying an entire boat with this spray gun be prepared for a LOT of sanding. I hate sanding boats. Gel coating a boat is HARD work. This gelcoat application method is the most cost effective for the DIY'er I highly recommend you use two coats of Gelcoat without wax and one final coat of the gel with wax. This will give you a good foundation for sanding. Which is a video I am prepping now. If you plan on doing a lot of projects I still recommend you buy the 300$ gelcoat specific spray gun. You MUST have all your ducks in a row, have your dump cup, acetone, and cleaning brushes ready. You only have about 6 minutes to spray all the Gel and get the cup gun cleaned before it starts to cure Trust me when I say the most frequently asked question I get is " How to gelcoat a boat" I think its worth mentioning how awesome (I think) the 80's vibe is in this video. I really took a lot of time making this and I hope you really enjoy it. It was a ton of fun to make. Folks if you subscribe to this channel you are helping me SOOO much. Revealing the plans for completely changing our bilge as the original stainless steel water tank had to come out due to rust. We need to fit 8 Lithium batteries (total 1680AH) and still need to find space for water storage. We had to start by removing the companionway steps (which need major refurbishment). If you would like to encourage us then you can support us on Ko-Fi! https://ko-fi.com/sustainablesailing/ We are refitting a 44 year old Rival 38 for a Sustainable Sailing retirement in a few years. Two years ago, when we bought Vida she was in a very tired and damp condition with all original equipment and fittings (much of it not working). We have removed all the gas, diesel and paraffin equipment, and are installing all electric (motor, cooking etc). We discuss our boatyard search. One yard was too small, one was too big. Then we find one that is just right for us! It’s the quintessential story of Goldilocks and the Three Bears! After we decided on Wilmington Marine Center for our refit, we explore the city and do some wanna-be scratch n sniff video. Then we take you back to Buffalo as we get the house ready to sell. We finish up back at the boat by getting the fuel tank cleaned and the boat ready to splash again so we can motor her down to Wilmington. #sinking #sinking boat #water in the bilges #water on a boat #catching rain water #sailing family #sailing adventures #sailing around the world #amel super maramu What happens when you think your boat is sinking ? It is difficult not to panic when you see water rapidly filling up and rising above the floor boards and all the things in the bilge are floating. This is what happened on a short passage we did of about 15nm, one of those passages when you think there is not enough time for anything to go wrong. When we first noticed the amount of water in the boat, it was quite a shock and our first reaction was to bail it out as fast as we could which was not fast enough. After checking the bow thruster, sea cocks, keel and then tasting the water, we realised it was actually fresh water and must be coming from a burst pipe. Unfortunately this pipe did not seem accessible at first and we thought we would have to cut a hole in the floor . Luckily, we found an access hatch and were able to repair the burst pipe without causing any extra damage. At the end of all the 'drama', we were even able to enjoy the cool beach at the entrance to Spanish waters in Curaçao. The DIY wood precision vice, using the cnc clamping system I made. this wooden precision vise is a very handy tool to hold a work piece in place on your CNC router while it is being machined Especially if you are working on a CNC project that needs to be precise clamping, you need a clamp with a precise grip. In this video you can see how I built a precise vise for my router.

Set a reminder for the live steam on February 11 visit: https://youtu.be/pCa0VXfjl_8 Visiting February 11 here in Granby? The info you need: https://www.acorntoarabella.com/visitor-welcome NEW BONFIRE T-SHIRT CAMPAIGN KICKS OFF NEXT FRIDAY! It's cold. Very cold. But there's plenty of work to do that's not hindered by it. Some days we can't get out to the boat shed until 9 or 10 a.m., for the fact that it's almost dangerous to be outside in the conditions. We can't reveal yet the special plans for the little bulkhead forward— the one that completes the hanging locker that our friend, Jeff, started a couple of weeks ago. We'll learn more about that soon, but for now, Steve gives it it's final fit, then it's off to the paint room for a few coats of sealer and varnish on the inside surface. We made a highly detailed pattern for the stainless bulkhead and stove surround that Evan will make. We can't wait to see our beautiful tanks, we know he's done a great job over there at MS Fabrication. https://www.instagram.com/msfabboston We get electrical conduit run, bundled, and connected to junction boxes, which are then fitted with beefy bus bars. Hooray and huzzah, in go the first few main lines for the electrical system. At this point, 10-gauge wire has been assigned to a few of the first simple circuits: lights and cabin heater on one, charging ports on another, and the main lines that will serve the forward bilge pump (assigned to the chain locker) and the nav lights up the main mast. Thank you very much for watching, see ya next week for the big show! --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Sign up for our email newsletter: http://eepurl.com/hn3Qyv Acorn to Arabella is a boat building project taking place in Granby, Massachusetts. Steve and Alix started as amateur boat builders building a 38' wooden boat in Steve's backyard: designer William Atkin's Ingrid with a Stormy Petrel's gaff rig. These videos follow the journey from tree felling, to lumber milling, to lofting, to the lead keel pour and beyond—sharing details of the woodworking, carpentry, metal smithing, tool building, and tool maintenance that wooden boats command. This ultimate DIY project will continue well past launch, when they will travel and learn to cruise aboard the boat that they've built. Following in Sailing La Vagabonde's footsteps and beyond Ep 139 Yes, that's right, this week we walk over the hallowed ground that uber sailing channel La Vagabonde camped on. True story! Now don't get me wrong, Coral Bay is a beautiful place to visit and we have enjoyed our time here immensely but after a month of windy windy weather we are ready for a change of scenery. We want to continue our journey south, so when a break in the weather arrived we grabbed it, but not before we checked out the interesting work being carried out by marine scientists from The Australian Institute of Marine Science, at their make shift research center in Coral Bay, where project reef song is in full swing. It took six weeks for Rob and rowing partner, Phil Stubbs, to complete winning the inaugural Atlantic Rowing Race. Skip forward to 2014 and, married with three children, Rob and his wife Rachel purchased Javelot, a 43 ft Fountaine Pajot catamaran. Armed only with Rob's 3 years of racing P class yachts from the age of 11 to 13, and Rachel's non existent sailing knowledge, We set off to learn the ropes of ocean sailing. We broke stuff, replaced stuff and got to know their boat before heading offshore with the kids, Finn (then 13), Declan (then 11) and Ivan (then 8), in tow. Through trial and error we have become confident wayfarers, kind of. The plan? To sail around the world. Part of the journey will be retracing Rob’s eldest brother Kerry’s travels at sea. Using Kerry’s original letters from the 1970’s we hope to retrace his movements from Australia through Indonesia and South East Asia to Cambodia where Kerry’s life was cut short after straying into Cambodian waters in 1978. Kerry and two friends were attacked by a Khmer Rouge gun boat, captured, tortured and executed. www.brothernumberone.co.nz ***** Follow us in real time on Instagram and Facebook @thecruisingkiwis @finn_hamill @declan_hamill @ivanhamill #TheCruisingKiwis

What do Stinky heads, Rigging upgrades, Gelcoat patching, Hatch leaks & Fishing Rod storage have in common? Only that they were some of our Summer 2021 projects. 1-We try to rid our boat of stinky holding tank and head odors by fixing a leak at the tank/hose connection, and try out the Raritan Saniflex odor shield hose with a 10 year warranty:-). 2-We get a rigging inspection by Charleston Yachting, do the repairs and make rigging improvements that will make sailing easier and safer. 3-We do some gelcoat repairs to fix some cosmetic cracks that have gone a little too deep and polish to a brilliant shine with Brite Products Battleshield Paint Sealant. 4-We replace a cracked hatch. 5-We mount MORE fishing rods inside the boat. This is not a step-by-step assembly guide. More of an inspiration to implement your own project. It's easier than you think. DEMOLITION CONTINUES! This episode we gut the entire Airstream trailer & find some prettyyy interesting things! We had only 60 days to make this tiny home on wheels move-in ready. And we had lots to do! In the state she was in, living in this thing full-time would clearly have been a health hazard! Yikes! We had done our research and so we knew that renovating a 50 year old Airstream trailer was going to be ALOT of work! Especially since we were determined to complete the entire process ourselves and had to learn sooo many things along the way (we're healthcare professionals, not carpenters, electricians or plumbers!) Likeee what is the name of this tool I'm holding?! Ohhh it's a pipe wrench! Gotcha gotcha. Cool. Soo, what do I do with it??? The more we got into it, the dirtier & messier this tiny home project became AND the bigger it grew! This vintage Airstream was harboring five decades worth of dirt, grime & mold. So demolishing and ripping it apart was a little terrifying at times, because you never knew what weird, disgusting thing you were going to find lurking behind! We found all kinds of interesting specimens & critters hiding in & behind its old architecture and framing, which you'll get to see this episode as we finish up the demolition process & successfully clean out the entire trailer! I'll be honest (probably also a little naïve), when we started this project I didn't think we were going to demolish it like we did! I had a romantic vision that we would slowly restore this classic Airstream. Repairing & repurposing her vintage heritage one piece at a time. Slowly bringing her beautiful 1960's self back to life! Airstream-reno-guru's will tell you that a 'full' Airstream restoration would have involved us 'taking the skins' off. The skins (which we explain in more detail in episode 3) are the vinyl wraps that line the interior of the Airstream. But without a proper workshop and with our deadline looming, that sort of restoration was not going to be an option for us. ALL that is to say that we are kinda left with this lingering feeling of unfinished business. Which makes us think, WOULD we do it all over again? SHOULD we do it all over again? As in flip another vintage Airstream start to finish, skins off, full on?! Maybe! But we should probablyyy finish this one first... Come along for the rest of the journey as we share the entire process of this Airstream tiny home build as the first series on our YouTube channel! Our current tiny home is a vintage Airstream trailer nestled in the woods here in the Canadian Pacific Northwest! We like to call her Streamy - our adventure basecamp! OUR STORY I (Allison, the Newfie) met James (the Aussie) while working on a remote island 3 years ago. A decade working in healthcare has helped us both to appreciate the preciousness of this one beautiful life we've been given. Although life aboard our beautiful sailboat is mostly sunsets and smiles, we still have to balance boat maintenance while sailing from anchorage to anchorage! This episode we do enjoy some good sailing still, but are still dealing with the same water maker issues, leaving us very short of water on board... ok we are out actually! But no fear, we get a huge favor from our now good friends on SV Lusty, who gift us enough water to tide us over for a week or so while we all make our way further and further south towards La Paz Mexico. One of the things on our do to list during this refit was to check our engine, which is over 20 years old, to see if any parts need replacing. We want to make sure that when we set sail again, we can rely on this engine in the future when we are potentially in more remote places and it’s harder to access parts. Since we wanted sand blast, primer and paint the engine anyway to prevent any further corrosion, it made sense to remove the engine from the boat. This would also enable us to access the sail drive to replace the seals, since we were already aware it had an oil leak. We expected there to be some other small issues, such as a leak from the water pump, but we weren't prepared for what we were about to find. Our engine is a Volvo (MD2040) 40hp, and like with most race boats we assume it would have been mostly just used for power. In particular we can see that the engine was used with a belt drive pump to move the 4 tonnes of water between the ballast tanks. Up till now we haven't used the engine much, mostly just for hoisting the anchor and docking the boat. It never felt super powerful but we assumed that's because it's a relatively small engine for the size of the boat. However in this video we find out the real reason, which was a bit of a shock... also to our bank balance. So in this video we will show you what is involved in removing an engine from a boat, and the things to look out for as well as our distressing discovery. For this job we were lucky enough to have help from Brett (who you might recognise from Expedition Drenched), Armani (who you've probably seen in some of our previous videos) as well as Ritesh - our favourite mechanic! Ritesh has become kind of famous amongst the yachties here in Fiji for being the most knowledgable, professional and trustworthy marine engine mechanic around. His vast experience means he’s super efficient at finding the right solution. If you’re looking for help with your engine in fiji, we 100% recommend him: KRISHNA YACHT SERVICES, +679 844 0860, REPAIR, MAINTENANCE & SERVICING ALL INBOARD & OUTBOARD MOTORS With Ritesh's help we compression test the engine in this video, to test the pressure in the cylinders. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Consider supporting us on Patreon https://www.patreon.com/sailingnv If you don't like Patreon but would like to chip in for a coffee, beer, sand paper or epoxy click here https://ko-fi.com/sailingnv -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Caio! We are Timo and Jo, an Italian and English couple with countless ocean miles under our belts, including sailing half way around the world from Europe to Fiji! Last year we bought an Open 66 ft race sailing boat originally designed and built by the famous Hungarian sailor Nándor Fa. He raced her in the 1992 Vendée Globe (round the world single handed race known as “the Everest of the seas”), coming 5th and becoming the first non-frenchman to finish the race. We are currently in Fiji giving this old gladiator a new lease on life, transforming her from an ex race boat to a performance family cruiser, which we'll need to make both dog and baby proof! We’re planning to set sail again in Oct 2022, so with limited time&money we have plenty of challenges ahead to turn our dreams into reality&get back on the water! YANMAR 3GM30F Top End Rebuild with NO EXPERIENCE! Pt. 3 I Ep. 34 This is part three of our YANMAR 3GM30F Top End Rebuild! Follow our journey as we service our YANMAR diesel engine... In this episode we have a visit from our friends Chasing Currents and we get to work to return the cylinder head! If you have been watching our sailing couple vlog so far, you will know we took Indiana on a voyage to the Solent and sailed our sailboat back to Brighton. We came back to 6 litres of water in our YANMAR sailboat engine bilge and some serious diesel engine issues! Our YANMAR 3GM30F diesel engine needed some work! With the cost of a marine mechanic being way more than we could afford, we decided to roll up our sleeves and tackle the job head on! In the last two episodes we showed you how to remove a cylinder head, refurbish the cylinder head, which included lapping vales and skimming the mating surface and an injector overhaul with a hunt for a head gasket. You may have seen our YouTube sailing engine video 'HOW to get your ENGINE STARTED' episode earlier in the year, when we had issues cold starting our diesel engine. We guess this is the price you pay for buying a sailboat with no experience! When buying a sailboat, we thought we would have more sailing experience by now, but it seems we have got more experience in rigging and marine diesel engine maintenance! This is the reality of living aboard a sailboat. However, our Gib'sea 372 has proven herself many times over. So there's a bit more sailboat maintenance to tackle but lets hope with a little more elbow grease, we will soon be back out sailing around the UK and then one day, sailing around the world! Stay tuned for PT.4 of the YANMAR engine Top End Rebuild with No Experience! Episode 010 Well, it's summertime in New Zealand and an opportunity to get sailing and exploring the anchorages in the Hauraki Gulf. However, it's been an unusual summer with lots of strong easterly winds. We have an opportunity to set sail for Ponui Island in the Hauraki Gulf and anchor in Chamberlain's Bay. A great spot while we wait for strong winds to pass. We hope you enjoy it! As always, thanks for watching. After a few years of studying and working hard we decided it was time to make a change. We needed a change that would allow us to spend more time together, give us a better work/life balance, and the freedom to travel. While we still had time on our side, we wanted to use it to live rather than use it to chase money. Learning to sail was the answer. In December 2021 we moved onboard Te Tāiko, a Chico40, and since then we have been so fortunate to explore many of New Zealand’s pest free islands and its beautiful anchorages. With our love of travel and adventure, this lifestyle has enabled us to experience so much more than we could ever have imagined. From new experiences to meeting incredible people along the way, our life has been enriched in so many ways and makes us ever so more appreciative of our environment and the footprint we leave behind. Tāiko is our floating home. She gives us the freedom to go anywhere the wind and weather allows. By living a more minimalistic and sustainable lifestyle, she has provided us with a better work/life balance and has taught us to live and be present more in the moment. Tāiko has also taught us to be more independent and less reliant on services. Some of these experiences have taken us out of our comfort zone many times but as the saying goes, ‘a comfort zone is a wonderful place but nothing grows there’. Our plan is to do blue water cruising. So, over the next year we will be completing some maintenance work on Tāiko and be getting her ready to meet New Zealand’s category 1 requirements to be able to go offshore. In the meantime, follow along with us as we navigate this new lifestyle whilst sharpening our skills exploring New Zealand waters. #boatlife #boat #travelvlog #digitalnomad #lifestyle #sailing #travel

We're back! Yikes, sorry for the hibernation there, and welcome to lots of new faces, thank you SO much for joining us! In this episode we cover a lot of ground as the winter of 20-21 saw us back in the water, tackling several small but important projects. For example, we lay some tile, test our wood stove, do some framing, and more. Catch up on those projects here and then stay tuned as we bring you a brand new haul out and second year of projects, coming soon! (Promise!). As always, instagram (@livingonalifeboat) has the most up-to-date information, including the LONG awaited arrival of our battery order earlier this month. We can't wait to get those installed and hook up our @GoPowerSolar system and of course will bring you along for that in future episodes! -- Toryn and Dani met in 2010 while on the same equestrian vaulting team. Best described as gymnastics and dance on a moving horse, vaulting was only the first of many quirky adventures we’ve embarked on together. We think this one is our best one yet! A machinist and graphic designer, we’re uniquely prepared to undertake a retrofit of this scale while documenting the entire process. We’re also passionate about sharing the ups and downs of a larger scale DIY refit and encouraging others to reach towards their off grid, on-the-water dreams. Join us as we rebuild Luja and then cruise Canada's Gulf Islands and beyond. One of the first all-electric lifeboat conversions in the world, we're on a unique mission and we're so excited to have you aboard! -- IG: livingonalifeboat

#boat maintenance #boatyard #antifouling #polishing boat hull #sailing family #boatyard jobs #boatjobs #fixing your boat When we arrived in Curaçao, we had our boat hauled out by a tractor which was a new experience for us.. and slightly unnerving. Then, we immediately flew to Croatia to be part of a docuseries #TheWonderProjectSeries. We can't wait to share with you when it's released later this year! While in Europe, we stopped by England for a few months to wait out the hurricane season, because we did not want to overstay our visas in Curaçao on our return. When we did finally return to the boat, we had to service the outboards, service the bow thruster as well as re anti-foul the hull, as the boat had been out of the water for some time and needed a refresh! The Curacao Marine boat yard was hot, mosquito ridden and no fun. However, there was a very nice pagoda where the kids were able to do their homeschooling.. where the local wildlife created a few distractions. See for yourself why this little known place is so amazing. We sail to this tiny island in the North Atlantic. It is off the beaten path and relatively unknown to the outside world and tourist travel. What we found here was so incredible we didn't want to leave. You know you are in a beautiful place when National Geographic videographers were filming a documentary in the same harbor. Enjoy this relaxing video and come along for a virtual sail with us every week :-) Website: https://www.sweetruca.com #sailing #yachts #travel 0:00 Leaving Ponta Delgada Marina at Night for a Good Weather Window to Sail South. 2:29 Sailing into Villo Do Porto, Santa Maria Island, Azores. 3:10 Roxy Cam FPV (First Person View) Dog Mounted Camera - See Kate take Roxy the rescue dog for her daily walk video game style. 4:33 Boat Work - Changing Fuel and Water Filters - we do some regularly scheduled maintenance to our J Boats J/46 Sailboat, Racor Filters, and Yanmar 4JH3 Engine. 6:34 Hiking - We find one of the worlds most beautiful hiking trails and go for a sunset walk on the Costa Sul. 9:00 Yacht Tour - Camper Nicholson 54 - 1971 Sidney-Hobart Race Winner - Take a look inside the interior and on deck as we tour this racing sailboat turned into a performance cruiser. Mike & Felicity on SY Pacha: www.pachasailing.com South African Durban Curry from Felicity Ingredients * 2 tablespoons ghee (or butter) * 1 tablespoon vegetable oil * 1 tablespoon of curry powder * 1 to 2 whole cinnamon sticks * 1 tablespoon of ground cumin * 1 teaspoon of ground coriander * 1 teaspoon of whole cumin * 1 teaspoon of cayenne pepper or Paprika (or both) * 1 finely chopped or grated onion * 1.4cm of fresh grated ginger * 4 cloves of finely chopped garlic * 8 pieces of chicken (preferably on the bone for flavour) I used beef. * 2 chopped tomatoes or Tinned Chopped Tomatoes * 1 tablespoon of tomato puree * 1 sprig of curry leaves * 2 potatoes (diced into half-inch cubes) Method 1. In a heavy based pan, melt the butter in the vegetable oil, then add the spices to temper and become fragrant. Be careful not to burn the butter or the spices. 2. Add the onions, garlic and ginger and fry until softened. This normally takes about 3 minutes on a medium heat. 3. Turn the heat up to high and add the chicken or beef even better lamb, pieces to brown, regularly turning into the onion and spice mixture. (Alternately you can add the chicken to the sauce, after the tomatoes are cooked down after step 4)( I marinated the beef in plain yogurt for a few hours before) 4. After about 5 minutes, add the tomato puree and chopped tomatoes and give the pot a good stir. 5. Throw (🤣) in the diced potatoes, and curry leaves. Taste for salt, then allow to simmer for about 30 minutes on a low to medium heat. Poke the potatoes with a fork, so that they absorb the gravy. 6. Garnish with the fresh coriander leaves and you are ready to serve with your accompaniments, such as sambol etc. Served the curry with yellow rice which is plain rice cooked with turmeric. Served with a side tomato and onion salad as well as a banana with mayonnaise salad. Want to know more about Kate, Curtis, and their around the world sailing expedition? They are two racing sailors that decided to travel the world and become globetrotting digital nomads. We enjoy making happy and inspirational sailing vlog videos of our journey as we continue to reach for our goal of sailing around the world, doublehanded, via Cape Horn and the Cape of Good Hope aboard our 46' J Boat. Before we left we also watched the best sailing channels and want to pass on our adventure to you, as in inspiration, showing that you can do this also. We enjoyed relaxing videos from Gone With the Wynns, DIY videos from Project Atticus, and travel vlogs from Sailing La Vagabonde and SV Delos, among others. The ethos behind these very odd looking yachts is safety, simplicity, performance, and affordability. For example, what other 60 foot performance multihull could you DIY build to compare to similar sized multi-million dollar yachts, but for 1/10th of the cost or less? I'll answer that, there isn't one. This is why I love these boats, despite their odd look. Realistically, the outside the box thinking of Rob Denney is very refreshing in an industry where it seems that all the major brands are converging and becoming as similar as possible. To get yourself a reminder when we go live on February 11 visit: https://youtu.be/pCa0VXfjl_8 Visiting February 11 here in Granby? Please read this: https://www.acorntoarabella.com/visitor-welcome In this episode, we fabricate, modify, and install a bunch of hardware for the companionway steps, which have connections to the refrigerator, bilge stringers, sole, and cabin house. We create more connections and tie more seemingly disparate projects together than we ever have, and it's really something for us to see it all come together into a cohesive whole. Many boats have these sort of arrangements for their entry. A great many production boats, for example, have a companionway that integrates the galley counter as one of the steps, and because of its placement, the galley counter is also, in fact, part of an engine box. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Sign up for our email newsletter: http://eepurl.com/hn3Qyv Acorn to Arabella is a boat building project taking place in Granby, Massachusetts.

I have been capturing this over the last few weeks. Sadly majority is filmed during the dark hours. The cost of a pre made composting head was astronomical prices so thought hey what's the worst that can happen. No real plan in place just made up as i went along.. Hopefully will be operational in next few weeks as only back weekends and primary focus still lies with pre splash work! There may be a part 2, but could be just a part of the heads rejuvenation!!
