Also though, living on a sailboat is AMAZING and we also thought we knew that. We fell in love with the idea of tropical islands, toes in the sand, drink in the hand, dogs frolicking in the palm fronds, and fresh fish on the fire. That's what the internet, youtube, instagram and the likes led us to believe. And so we went for it. We bought a salvaged boat, something we could afford and could grow into so to say. Spent a year fixing and a year outfitting it before really diving into cruising. The boat is set up for off grid living, is more or less self sufficient and capable of crossing oceans. Now, neither of us was naive enough to think it wouldn't be hard, that there wouldn't be bad days, bad weather, mechanical breakdowns, emotional or physical hiccups, but surely it's more good than bad...right? Since we started putting things in motion something like 8 years ago, we didn't actually know if it would be worth it. Does this new dream even actually exist? Is it something that a couple of kids can achieve? And if we "make it" and we get ourselves out there, is it as good as it seems. Let's - find out. Love you all, be safe be good!
