We spent the day out on the water, testing out a racing mainsail that came with the boat to see how we like it, and to get used to trimming it for different points of sail. Between Point Richmond and Alcatraz, we got every wind speed and every point of sail along the way!

It may or may not for you. I look at the other sailboat and in my mind, I tele-transport myself onto their boat. When on their boat, it is easy to determine which tack they are on because of the heading and wind direction. Then back on my boat, I can then make a decision about who gives way. I'm sure some will call me weird - just means it does not work for them (so many naysayers). In doing this I can determine within a few seconds what tack they are on. In this video we sail along with our friend Scott from San Francisco to Santa Barbara, stopping at Stillwater Cove and Sansimion along the way. We start to get the boat moving at the speeds it's made for on day 1 (17.5 knots speed through water; no SOG cheating!), and rip an old jib on day 2, finally ending with some spinnaker sailing in the Santa Barbara Channel on day 3.
