This is a video showing how to remove the wooden bungs or plugs found in the hardwood trim on a boat. We are remodeling the owners stateroom in our sailboat and thought it would be helpful for others to see how to go about doing it. First you use a center punch to create a divet in the center of each bung to help align the drill bit in the next step. Drill a hole with a bit about 2/3'rds the diameter of the plus you are removing. When you drill into the center of the bung, the drill bit will go through the bung, hit the screw head below it and pop the bung out. (in most cases, the video shows what to do when they are stuck and don't come out). We then cut new plugs with a "plug cutter bit" on a drill and after replacing the trim on the boat, we plug the holes, sand and varnish them. Four friends set out on a journey they would never forget. Ok, so three made it to the top, but here is a video of the point just before we lost a member to fatigue. Crystal, Dave and I ventured forth and made our way to the beautiful scenery of the Eastern Ridge of Oahu, Hawaii. Viewable were the entire coastlines of both south and east directions including Pearl Harbor. One of the most intense hikes to date. This was just a small vlog as I gear up to be more active on this account with posting videos, etc.
